I was running a room, track day on the 'ring, and a guy comes in and hops in his X1. So I think, "Here we go, another punter", but I don't kick him automatically like some would. I admit I did assume he was just some dumb kid, and I watched him from the lounge. He's doing okay, but he spins out a few times and seems to be hitting an awful lot of walls and going off-track. I don't care about this though, I only care about punters. So as he approaches the first group of slower cars he will have to overtake, I watch carefully.
And he weaves through them like a god of racing! No contact whatsoever! He had to go a bit off track, but no contact occured! So I continue to watch, and he seems to be getting better, I guess he just needed to warm up.
I find myself still watching him, even after he has cleanly passed many others, even after I know he won't be getting kicked, because it was amazing to watch him drive that beast. Lap after lap, shaving off seconds with every iteration, and I must say it made me glad I do not kick people based on the normal X1 stereotypes, because it was the most amazing driving I have seen outside of youtube. He did not do the fasted lap I have seen on youtube, which was 3:18.xxx, but his best lap was still an incredible 3:34.xxx if I remember correctly.
His name was weird, it was lililililililil or something like that. I don't know if he's a GTP member or not, but I wanted to say thank you for the spectacle.
Sorry for the long post, but I just wanted to share with you the fastest I have seen.
