So a few people know that 8-6-12 was considered Eightsix Day or in Japanese Hachiroku. Well a lot of people were waiting for this and it finally has been confirmed.

First episode gets released on PPV in Japan on November 9th, 2012.

EDIT - Also the DVD will be released sometime during the release of the PPV episodes according to the translation.

Nothing was posted regarding the annoucement of Fifth Stage, it's just someone wondering why it hasn't been annouced yet. And others talking about the manga.

Actually if you go to the last few posts of that thread, I myself posted about 5th stage being confirmed. Post #19 to be more specific.

Whatever, same thing.

It is an undeniable truth, words have meaning. At the time of the posting on July 30th, they were saying quote, that a new adaptation has been green lit. They make no mention of Stage 5 at all in that article. By making it mean something now that it wasn't then, you have added words to the journalist's mouth.

So really, it is not the same thing.

Where did the anime leave off from the manga? Or is this new?

Project D defeated Purple Shadow or God Hand and God Foot. Takumi learned the theory of driving with one hand, while Keisuke was offered to start racing professionally. But Keisuke declined as he wants to continue street racing. I think Fifth Stage will be the best out of all the seasons, a lot of newer cars are battling Project D. 👍

I got the mass email from the initial D forum. I am verry verry verry happy with this. It's going to take ages to be subbed I guess. But I am very curious if they stepped up the graphics.

I heard that they are going to use the same graphics as fourth stage.

I don't see why you'd go back to using low-resolution video quality at a time like this....

You must be talking about the art style in which case is perfectly acceptable.

oh yes, finally!! Hopefully they will use the same voice actors they had in IDAS 5, 6, and 7. When I got the chance to play IDAS 5, I thought for sure it was impossible for Fifth Stage to "not come" since they have already hired voice actors for the newer rivals in the manga. I'm now currently playing IDAS 6 AA, and their voice acting still has great quality. 👍👍

:) I can't really "feel" the action in the races when reading the manga , so this will be really sweet. I agree, hope they keep the same art styles as 4th Stage, just polish it a little. 👍

Looks fake.

They were still doing the project D stuff.

Last episode was when he beat "God Arm"n the blue S2000.

If it is real Japan will get it first then the world will wait 49 years for it to be sold on DVD and then the ultra crap english dub will come and once again proof my point that dubs ruin good anime.
Their were some good dubbed ones like Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Kiki's Delivery Service, Laputa Castle in the sky, Howl's moving castle and Proco Rosso and Death Note come to mind.

nah. The reason why Fifth Stage took so long is because the producers had to wait for 13 manga releases after the events of Fourth Stage. 1st, 2nd, and 4th Stage have the length equivalent of 13 manga releases in the entirety of the manga. If I'm correct, the 13th manga to be released after 4th stage will come out later this year, or it has already been released.

49 years LOL, that's over-the-top exaggeration.

It will be sold in japan in 2days but the rest of the world will have to wait due to Reagion Codes and other copyright laws.

I doubt that it would take that long. Funimation still has the rights to the series, so they will make sure that it will get here in the states.

Even if they don't, there is the matter of Blu-Ray and region code A does cover Japan and the US so you can import it that way. However, do so at your own risk as they may or may not include english subs on the disk.

You may not be able to read Japanese, but you can certainly read English, can't you? :P

There is a slight chance I can :)

All the existing Initial D episodes were also not subbed perfectly. Sometimes weird English and sometimes very out of sync. But hey, it got me into loving Japanese cars and touge in particular.

Same. I miss my mountain running days. :(

On a side note, I was out at the lake this weekend watching the meteor shower and a group of 4 or 5 mid-80's MR2's flew by on the road followed by an Eclipse and a couple others. After they passed I went up the mountain road a ways to a good viewing spot so I could watch them come back out of the canyon. Then shortly after that an NB Miata went by going towards the lake. I waited until just after 1am and was getting tired so I went home.

My life is complete. Now I just have to wait until December when I can go to a Japanese town with my Japanese class. I want initial d
