I was watching some of the very first episodes last night. The animation quality / graphics have come a long way!
 
just watched the first episode last night on Youtube. Already there are a lot of people uploading the video, whether by whole or by parts. Just goes to show you that even after 6 years, fans were still willing to wait :LOL:

Art styles are still the same, albeit with minor changes. But when I saw the 3D rendering of the cars... :drool::drool::drool: they're much more detailed as compared to past seasons/"stages". Definitely can't wait for the next episode!! :)👍👍
 
That was awesome!
Only thing I didn't like was how Ryosuke looks younger than in S4.
That was a great way to end the first episode as well.
 
Unusual but acceptable way to bring us back into the series. Imposters... hah. I still think Takumi wasn't smart enough to blow their cover the very moment they met them. He doesn't need to create a scene about it, all he needed to do was to ask them to prove their driving wits... or race them.
 
The driver of the Evo VII is Kobayakawa, from team 246, part of team Sidewinder's "four lines of defense" that'll be talked about on the show soon.

If you want to get a leg up on the anime, you have the whole story to read up on in the manga, which is currently still releasing new volumes each week. They're transcribed by fans and uploaded to Mangapark.com each issue. Right now it's just getting into the very last race for their last challenge at Kanagawa (Mt. Fuji), the fourth line of defense, pretty epic developments actually. I'm hoping that the anime finishes up Kanagawa as it seems the time's right so that by the time the manga finishes, the anime will synch up with the same ending.

Not sure if anyone cares, but I've been watching all the old episodes on Netflix and they have a note on them that says they will be taken down on November 15th. So if you don't own these episodes and you want to re-live seasons 1, 2 & 4 you best do it before then. ;)

I just figured this out tonight, not sure if anyone else noticed.

But, the upgraded white FC in the opening sequence is actually Ryosuke Takahashi's car. Which means sometime during 5th stage he'll be making some changes to the car. 👍

I was thinking the same thing too. But he is racing the black GTR from night kids ( I think ) why would he race him?

Also there's a green S13, red 350z and something else I can't think of off the top of my head.

I could read the manga but that would spoil it for me. Think I'll stay away from Wardez link 8)

The fansubs should be out soon. I wonder how long they take to do...
