I will definitely be there at Oulton Park. 👍

Hoping to see Mat Jackson take the title this season, of course I always hope that Wrathall, Newsham, Austin, etc can challenge for it too..but I think Jackson has the best chance outside of the MGs and Hondas.

I want the NGTC Civic in iRacing now to fill the time up before March!

Damn you. Beat me to it :P.

Maybe next year.

I'd love to see that as well; Jackson, Austin and Wrathall I feel could be real contenders.

I will also be at an event next year, most likely the season opener at Brands Hatch. 👍

I'll be at as many as possible!

I'd like to do Oulton again, only been once... Doninington, Silverstone and Rockingham are my 'local' tracks so they're always a possibility, snetterton maybe... I'm not going to bother with Thruxton this year, Croft is probably a no-no (looong way), but I will aim to get to Knockhill (and probably fail, again) since it's always nice to spend a few days in Scotland... and Brands.. maybe...

The fact I won't be as broke, and can therefore visit more races in 2013 is making me a lot more excited about the season than 2012.

Need to look at all the calenders, check out the clashes.

So each day or so I will be scouring twitter for the latest BTCC info and news. It's interesting what people say, but this from TinTopsUk made me laugh:

If TOC (Onslow Cole) and JG (Goff) do end up at Team Hard it's going to be like the BTCC version of One Direction. #TeenageGirlsDreamTeam

Also today marks 10 years since the passing of Will Hoy.

As long As I still have money after Le Mans next year I'm aiming to go to Brands for the final weekend of the championship. There's just something about the Grand Prix part of the track that I love.

Surprised with tom's move but could good for the team and help them move forward. Also is the vw going to be made in time for round 1? Because I thought they weren't being released until the near end of the season?

Wow, now not only are we getting more NGTC cars...but we're getting competitive drivers in them too.
I mean, its quite possible for Newsham, Onslow-Cole and Goff to be mixing it up near the front in 3 cars that are not Civics or MG6. 👍

Great to hear about Tom's move, cheers for the info Furi. OP has been updated.

Also with tom's move that could imply Colin could be back with wsr? Maybe it will be Rob, Nick and Colin in the BMW's? 👍

Could be interesting if it happens, I do wonder if he would need sponsorship of some sort...

👍 for keeping the OP updated. I'd be completely lost without it.

It's shaping up to be very interesting grid. Fingers crossed that O'Neil and Wood get decent seats.

With Newsham at Speedworks likes like O'Neill may be taking the other seat. But Lee Wood may get it, and if he doesn't I think he may end up at Team Hard. 👍
MG still has a spare seat too

Volkswagen would be my guess.

Forgive my ignorance on the matter, but wouldn't a Passat be considered a bit... "big", to be racing against Focii's and Civics and such?

The passat is about the same size as a bmw serie 3 or an audi a4. Both were competiting in 2012 so I guess it should be ok

The guys on TouringCarTimes alluded to something that didn't immediately cross my mind. The fact Tom Onslow Cole is becoming a bit of journeyman. He has never stayed with a team longer than 2 seasons. Only one team since he made his debut in 2007 he stayed at for two seasons. In 2007 he was with Team RAC/WSR, in 2008 he moved to VXR/Triple Eight, for 2009 and 2010 he went to Team Aon/Arena, was at AmD Miltek in 2011 and last year moved back to WSR under the banner of Ebay Motors. And now he will be racing for Team HARD in a VW Passat. All the best of luck to him but still.

Happy about Dave Newsham. Sad for Chris James who will be losing the driver who helped Team ES to their best ever finish but onward and upwards for Dave. And SpeedWorks should provide him with the car to really compete with the likes of Jordan and Jackson.

But am elated for Goffy. He impressed me last year with his performances and deserved to win the title and deserves to be recognised with a drive in the BTCC. Shame that someone as experienced as 34yr old Paul Rivett who has won the Clio Cup twice and is runner up three times couldn't get get in the BTCC ahead of a 21yr old relative newcomer (someone who is 13 years older) but hey, Goff is an amazing talent too.

Surely can't be too much bigger than:

I see. It just looks humongous in the flesh, hence the question.

I think thats why everyone is tending more towards hatchbacks these days because cars generally are getting bigger.

I mean, we talk about the Civic and Focus being "small hatchbacks" but they are not really that small anymore if we compare to hatchbacks even from 10-15 years ago. The new Civic is pretty big itself!

Yeah, they are much bigger. A Civic/Fiesta/Corsa is the same size as an Accord/Focus/Astra 10years ago. It's scary to think just how small cars use to be and how big "small" newer cars are today lol

Would MG have the kind of money to run another driver that isnt paying for his seat ? Especially a world champion, Huff must cost quite a bit of money.

I'm not sure MG really want that kind of driver to pair up with Jason.
