Good choice 👍
You kinda got me scared in the Results thread - I thought we were going to have to run Rome again :D

I love the track and I love Supras :sly:
I like the new twist for this week, also - no T times discussion - just like a real final exam :D

The Arcade car will also flatten the field and give everybody the same opportunities...
I am so into this, if I didn't have a real exam tomorrow, I would start racing right now 👍

The Wizard.

Great combo, Kent. 👍 We really need a pleasant race like this after the last couple of weeks hmm... sort of challenging races. :dopey:

Final Exam Time. I love it. It's a Cool idea and a Splendid Test of the Honor System. ;)

Ah. I always love it when we use arcade cars. It evens the playing field for the tuners and non tuners alike. But this denso is a pig. It understeers to much. Step on the gass in third or above and it just plows even more. a properly timed lift will get the tail out but... I'll try out the castrol tomorow. This week will be interesting. We'll be racing our ghost to the verry end trying to find every tenth we can, and we wont know how we did until the results go up. I dont mean to sound arrogant but i know I can take division 2 this week, and I'll be kicking myself in the A** (which I can actualy do) if I dont because I thought I had a great time and called it quits too soon. Oh yeah. this could get interesting.

Race on inferno !!!! Lets go for podium honours in Div 2 !!!
I also like the arcade cars as theres more time racing and less time messing about with springs/stabilisers etc ....

very nice, i suppose we can only talk about corners.

Hopefully i can make up for my dismal wrs 103 :dunce:

Nice one, the Denso Sard it is for me....GV is one of my fav circuits too...

Here we go again! I also like the "twist", not being allowed to discuss T times, though the thing is that other people's T times are what mainly make me try extra hard. Having something to aim for. This is also I think why my last sector often is so bad compared to my other sectors, I can never really be bothered to put in the time and determination to see what I really can do without knowing what is possible.. Does that make any sense? :dunce:

Oh well.. I'll give it my best anyway, I like the track but it's not my favourite and I have really no clue as to what car to choose.. I have never really taken to either of them.. :indiff:

Cheers!

That makes sense to me... I don't have as much time as I would like to persevere, so knowing what the top drivers are hitting is a very useful benchmark... that said, for a change, it is going to be interesting to see how far I will be able to push myself with just my own standards as a reference...

Just a query?

Should we run with ASM and TC switched off via the options menu Kent?

Anyone?

This make cars faster.
I believe it does, but i wanted to make sure its not against the rules...

I will see you two at the top of the list in seven days: Big James, Inferno.

Hopefully i will be above you, but its nice to know i have to work my butt off again just to stay there!

Love the combo Kent, levels everyone out and requires a good deal of patience to perform exceptionally well round tha valley.

Good luck everyone! Watch out for that final kink, the grass comes up quick!

as far as i know its ok to run with ASM/TCS combination of your choice, i personally run with them off

Thanx Fryz, at least i know im not doing something naughty.

Good luck man!

Denso's are the fastest...

Great race Kent, I'm looking forward to running this 👍. Just one thought about the no T-Times discussion: can we discuss individual sector times from the data logger?

 Are we driving the same car. I love the the Denso. It handles so sweet. :D

Nope, can't do that either. :)

Have fun with it fellas. 👍

I will be in the results hopefully with a castrol time. :mischievous:

Later. :D

Hello, as the new guy here I am slightly reluctant to point this out but unless my math skills are in error 104 divided by 2 yields 52. Would this race not be the Second Anniversary meeting of the Weekly Racing Series?

Denso's are the fastest...

From what I have seen so far I would say it's the other way round. It will be interesting to see the difference at the end of this weekly.

in the denso i got a brillaint time for only 1 hour session, will try the castrol.

but denso holds the record over the castrol at gt.de

and yes Soo-Em_Roi its the 2nd anniversary :)

What I find to be interesting about this perfect 2 year mark is what comes at the end... GT4 in North America!

Boom could have never seen it coming but for some reason things worked out so that the day this 2 year mark comes to an end gt4 will come out and in a symbolic way a new era will be born.

Thanks for noticing the important date though. 👍

For me this will mark exactly 1 year of doing the WRS as the mod & 2 years as a racer... 59 races completed as of week 103.

@ Kent, You are Most Welcome. 👍
For what it is worth, I just loaded a Tom's Castrol and Denso Sard Supra side by side in a garage with MK's software. They seem to be identical in every respect including the mysterious "Fitment" figures, which no one has yet figured out to the best of my knowledge. These are base SIMULATION Rides of course, I would have to save a run with each ARCADE ride, then extract them again with MK's to prove their similarity but I suspect the Livery is the only difference between them.

I think I'm gonna have to race this one, my favourite car on a great track. This will be my farewell to GT3 race. I'll be in Castrol Tom's car for sure.

I wouldn't read too much into the times on the gt.de db, they will be owned easily this week.

Very interesting. Looking forward to the result. 👍

I took them both to the test course to find the optimal shift point.

The Castrol seems to have the best acceleration.

The Denso handles better and the Tom's is faster on the straights, that's for sure. I was running the fully modded Tom's at Rome this weekend and Tannis copied my settings to his Denso, only the 5th and 6th gear were different. So maybe the gearbox setting is different on the 2 versions (also on arcade car), resulting in a faster Tom's on the straights.
I think the Castrol Tom's is the car for this week, as I've experienced it to be faster at i-Link races on GV than the Denso :sly:

After a quick stint in both cars it seems the Tom's is marginally faster for me. I think I'll stick whit it! Nice combo and hopefully I'll be able to puch myself to get a decent time..

Already achieved my "goal" I set up at the beginning so I guess I have to raise the bar a bit..

Cheers!

Happy 2nd Anniversary WRS , you've taught me everything I know about running fast in GT3.

So many thanks to Boombexus and to Kent for creating and keeping strong such a fantastic series. This race is an excellent farewell to GT3, kent 👍

Gave the Denso a little go this morning, so much fun. Managed to get in the granturismo.de ballpark in about 45 minutes ... those times going down hard this week :mischievous:

I'll have to try the Tom's to see for myself ...

Monty
The Tunnel before the bridge; what is optimal line?

Wide entry, a tap on the brakes and then feather the throttle to stay tight to the inside, and get a good exit onto the bridge straight. If you're fighting to keep it off the wall on the exit, you're not doing it right :)

One other tip from my experience at GV, the rumble strips are your friend. Take a good chunk out of every one up until T2.

Got No Time : perfect title as far as I am concerned since I had got no time to race week 103.
I'll give a try to this one however in the week-end. My time will be craptacular as usual on Grand Valley but the landscape is great ;)
