One of the main reasons GT has always been the best driving game, in my opinion, because of the reverent way they present all these incredible cars. Like, the way they show every angle and detail of the car in replays, and how they put together these epic old vs. new missions, that nice little jingle and close up of the front hood when you buy a car etc. It really just makes you think wow this car is ridiculously awesome, I can't wait to tear around a true-to-life race track in this. That's why they should let you get up-close 360-degree, inside-out looks at cars in gt5..like, pop the hood, check out the contours up close, look at the interior and dash...Especially now that it's all in HD, it'd be as close as you can get to the real thing. I mean, if they're gonna end up selling cars over the PS store eventually, I'd be much happier to drop some money if it's a real experience with each car. How tight would it be if at some point Porsche actually does sign on and bam, you can get an inside-out look at their brand new 911's and race cars and then drive the hell out of them?
In a more general way I guess I'd say that I hope they highlight the difference between each car. A lot of games don't mind this (there is little to no difference between cars of the same class in Motorstorm), but it adds so much more novelty to the game. You can only put in so many tracks, and you create new content exponentially if you add an increased sense of presence for each car. I'm not talking about anything flashy...a look under the hood, the ability to check out a car from any angle, it would be the coolest if it were very simple, just simply placed in a garage for you to check out. And how about this: instead of a list of cars in the garage a la GT4, you can browse through an actual garage with all your cars in it, putz around, change the transmission settings in the Speed8, then go admire some bomb new car you just got, etc. Now THAT would be tight.
the old carriages (which seem a little pointless in gt4) would be worth it somewhat if you could at least see how it worked, for example, by what mechanism the motor rotates the wheels, what kind of old-school engine they used in it, how tall those wheels really were, etc. In general, also, getting a feel for how big or small each car really is, would be amazing.
Here's the money shot: they should make it so you can have a GT garage attached to your Home. Like, you win some amazing car in an endurance race and then you can invite your GT5 buddies to come check it out, maybe they could even set it up so that you can let guests take a test drive or something.
