“My First Gran Turismo” Demo Discussion

Now this is interesting.. My First Gran Turismo has WAY sharper graphics on stock ps5 with PSVR2. Everything is crisp and clean. I can barely notice the noise from fresnel lenses, nothing more. All instrumet clusters are clear without leaning in. Did they forget to nerf non-pro PS5 in MY1stGT, or is the game so much lighter, it can run full resolution. 🧐 If anyone wants to try PS5 pro PSVR2 before buying, just download MFGT..
On gt7 before pro patch I noticed music rally looks nicer in vr than main game stuff. It might still be the case.

To be clear, I am speaking of getting gold. About 30 attempts, watched the demo a lot. Struggling to brake and to put power down exiting the turn, either I put a bit too much and the oversteers, or too little and I am too slow.
I was playing this late last night and breezed the golds up until this test, then really struggled with it so gave up and went to bed.

I was clearly losing time getting the power down out from the apex. Toggling with the TC i was either bogging down with too much TC, or lighting up the rears with too little. Couldn't find a happy medium.

I was playing with the classic GT controller button layout - brake and accelerator on the buttons rather than the triggers. So when i get chance to play again i'll try the trigger option instead as it allows a better degree of 'throttle pedal' control instead of just being on or off as it tends to be on the buttons.

Times for licenses and trials don't matter beyond just getting bronze but I was able to get into the top 10 worldwide for the B-3 license so hopefully someone can get something out of the replay.

All of the cars being tuned in unknown ways is an interesting choice and maybe some combinations could be used in daily races. The Challenger not topping out at around 115 mph is especially nice but to me cars like the Porsche and Miata drive worse than they do stock so while the car selection is far from perfect at least it's done in a unique way that maybe improved upon in GT7.

Is there any benefit of playing My First GT to any of us who are already playing GT7? Do any cars or prizes transfer over?
You get the 18 cars transferred (in ticket form) into GT7. They're all road cars, and not especially high value, but they are free and - as pointed out above - 0.0 miles despite being UCD vehicles, which is neat for those who like that sort of thing.

Thanks for that. What's the estimated time needed to complete it all? Of course, assuming each test and race is one and done.

The ending movie shows that there's over than 500 cars on GT7, but later it shows the exact amount of tracks and layouts in the game

Maybe there will not be new tracks to GT7?

I had to repeat a couple of the licences for gold, because I wasn't going to leave anything at not-gold, and it took me about 2.5hr. If you're just going for complete and move on, maybe two hours.
Do you get any trophies for My First GT?
@Famine does it have its own trophies?
No.

Demo games usually do not come with a set of trophies.
But in case the progress of the game is transferred into the full game, there are cases in which it helps unlocking related trophies faster - in this case it might help (if only for a tiny bit) to collect cars or raise collector level.

Not easy this one (A-2).
Try it with countersteering assistance on, it helps with the rear wanting to step out on the exit.
That's how I managed.

Oh my word... I forgot how horrendous licenses were... If it was really my first experience with GT I would have definitely stopped playing after 10min.

Impossible to get gold at A2.

And the musics are just annoying!

Plus abolute clowny musics for the rallies (except MOTC of course)

I thought the demo was a good idea but so far it has shown the most insuferable aspects of GT7.
It took quite a bit of work for me to gold the licenses. By the time I did, the "professional difficulty" races were anything but difficult.

Imagine if they threw a 20 million car in the demo.... 😅😅😅 Would've been a nice way to boost the downloads of MFGT. 😁

So the ending scene for My First Gran Turismo is basically an advertisement for GT7 (not surprising)... and the first thing they advertise in it is Vision Gran Turismo... 😅

But there are also long shots for museums in Brand Central, Cafe talks and presentations etc., I like that. To be honest, I play GT7 for those features rather than for driving itself so I appreciate Kaz is treating them as something important

P.S. One question: do I need to complete the full demo to be able to transfer cars to GT7? (Having UCD cars with 0.0 miles is tempting :D )

Yeah, they can just run down to their local Blockbuster... oh wait.
Or just buy it cheap and see if they like it (rather than being skanky and going for a demo) Or just read reviews. Or just look at gameplay trailers. Or just play it at a friend's house. Oh wait, nah, they really do need a demo of a game nearly 3 years old. They've ben living under a rock, no doubt.

🤣 Kaz ain't that generous.

Apparently maybe one more in 2025 and that's it. It's my perception or 2025 is the last year of support content for the game. GT8 or GT Sport 2 coming. i Think.

Playing a demo to see if you like a game is skanky? 🧐

how cheap has it been in the past ? a demo is less costly than to fork 40$ for a test
Or just read reviews
Not very helpful for me, I need to try myself, been burned enough with games that looked nice on paper
Or just look at gameplay trailers
Does not tell me how it will feel in my hands either.
Or just play it at a friend's house
Friends ?

More seriously, I have zero friends who play GT7 (and very very few who even have a PS5)

Those morons at PD don't what there are doing, clearly... releasing a demo before Christmas, followed by a nice price on the full game.

Considering it's meant to be a big 'advert' for the game, they don't make it easy to find for us GT7 players - I found the trailer and clicked the button 'Play Game' but it launched GT7 :ouch: I could only then find it by manually searching the PS Store for 'Gran'...

Yeah, I figured the link in the game would at least be to download for GT7 players. Put the demo at the top of the World Map like the World Tour stuff.
