Yeah, I still have to hit a bunch of tracks to flip a coin between the 91 and 95.
The 91 does have the best stripes though.

Too bad for the '93 that it has that awful tan rag top. Mind as well paint it white, give it red interior and then spend your days driving 20mph under the speed limit in the left lane with your blinker on.

Need opinions:

Would everyone be ok with combining the point standings from both groups, so everyone is fighting it out for a single championship?

The '95 is actually still in the running but that damn '91 pushes too much straight out of the box for me to even want to think about using it.

Basically, I have to decide if the extra torque from the 1.8 liter is worth anything to me.

I honestly think the 91 is going to be a real contender. It has the same power limiter as the 89's, it is 10 kg lighter and has the best in class racing strips. I say you need to try it out. Also you can put the same suspension setup as the other Miata's on this thing and it will carry over the handling characteristics.

It would shock me 1 bit if both races had the same winner. Just looking at the pre-season, doodle would have won if we had a reversed grid.

And if I was in a room 2, I would have had a fair shoot (more than 50%) at winning both.

I don't dislike the idea, we just need a tiebreaker (fastest laps, number of wins, etc)

Average finish?

We would still have a problem if both rooms have an Aderrrm wanbe in them.

That's when the snowball fight happens. ;)

tbh though the only thing that worried me about the mixed standings is people crying about one room being harder than the other (as if that effects the fun... which is the reason to do this after all).

True, I could probably switch to the 2nd room and have a much better chance but I like racing with you aliens. It's made me better and I want to keep getting better.

See that's the spirit. People should *want* to race the faster competition.

Saint sorry I couldn't practice with you I was doing a practice race for another series. I'm gonna get on now and do some testing and tuning if anyone is interested. Help would be appreciated. Lol Room closed. Added camber and it cost me over a second per lap so that's not the way to go.

I should be on around 6:00 PM EST (1 hour and 22 minutes from now) and will join you if you are still trucking.

After some tuning and some minor driving style changes I've managed to get below 1:20 consistently, with a pb of 1:19.2, about where I expected to be. Time to make improvements.

I have race events in SCCA that went like this.

Qualifying all as one group for 15 min.
Race one grid based on single fastest qualifying lap.
Race two grid based on finishing position from race one.
Feature race grid based on single fastest lap from previous three on track sessions from the weekend.

These are my favorite events for some reason.
Hey Hami, I am involved in the SJR for the SCCA and race a club ford. Whats the turn out for formula fords in your area?

Hey R1600, are we doing that copy and paste form system again in this thread?

Not good. I first started going to a Metro Detroit area track called Waterford Hills back in 1991 and the quantity of open wheel entries has steadily declined over the past 22 years. Check out the weekend results on the track's website for exact numbers. FF is thrown in Group #4 along with any FC, CFC, FS, FSCCA, F1000, CSR & DSR entries that show up.
