Huge moment, and I think you all know why. Maybe it was a one-time-only-occasion but at Suzuka.. the King was dethroned;

Special award to @thehobnob97 for never giving up hope;

It's a pity that a picture can't really catch the atrocious conditions Gamer beat to take that victory. With driving like that in the wet he should be called JY Stewart. Phenomenal.

And, Hobnob, never say die or what? If I'm ever in a tight squeeze with Zombies or Aliens taking over the planet I want him on my side; we'll go down fighting, that's for sure.

Cheers, Zo.

Yeah, I will of course post the race results so the world won't ever forget what happened that day.

So, the community facility has arrived. Are you planning on setting up a Z8 Club Jocke?
Cheers, Zo.
It's been done, thanks for asking Zo.

The Club was given the ID 1001609.
Interesting new feature this, was there a similar thing in GT 4-5?

Strange how you are only trusted to manage one single Club. Perhaps PD doesn't want thousands of Clubs on their servers (which would otherwise be the case).
I set the Club to 'Public' but I'm beginning to suspect that the majority hasn't. I tried joining two other Clubs but was denied, even though they are my PSN-friends.

I did try the Z8 at the new Suzuka 2014 layout and I liked it. With the usual Club settings of 500pp/Sports Hard there were so much more grip to find
as opposed to the old layout.
Through the esses and the hairpins the grip has been immensely improved.
And that new "microphone position-feature" is a nice addition. I believe I can hear many new things now from the engine, gearbox and while under braking and releasing the throttle.
Successful day, PD. 👍

Thanks Jocke for another interesting Tuesday race session. :bowdown:

I had a great battle trying to cleanly get past @buybon355 at Apricot Hill. It lasted for 6 or so laps and he held me off throughout 👍. I settled for a 5th place with a big grin on my face.

How close can you go... :crazy: 6 close laps - no contact at any time!

Another shot from Tuesday. Z8's everywhere!

And since I was taking some pictures I thought I'd add my car. ;)

So I just tried out the new features the Community has to offer.
I added two longer-than-usual races for Saturday 22nd at 8pm GMT and apparently
anyone can now start them up for practice, the settings are all there and everything is set up in advance. Nice.
Have at it. ID: 1001609 :)

The core settings will always stay the same for the Z8 Club;

But for one of the races this Saturday 22nd a few settings will be different due to popular demand :)
Suzuka will go for 15 laps and start in dry conditions (0%). Weather change will be set to the unlucky number thirteen.
There's no guarantee it will start raining but rain tyres will be allowed. Otherwise it's Sports Hard or less as usual.

There will be no mandatory pitstops however Tyre and Fuel consumption will be set to "fast" so either you manage
the race distance without having to pit or you will be left with no choice. Could get interesting.
Time progression at Suzuka has been set to simulate an entire day of racing but in only 15 laps.

Sierra will see a return to normal settings (as above), with the one exception that damage will be set to "light" instead of "heavy".
Time progression, as at Suzuka, should simulate through the entire day but in only 2 laps.

5-minute solo qualifying at Suzuka. No qualifying at Sierra. :lol:

Tuesday's race results will be up before Saturday's races.

Mallet's 'Super Duper Incredibly Amazing Trophy Cup' will be held at Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit in the near future, so look out for that.
👍
Hope to see many Z8's on Saturday.

No there wasn't Jocke, unfortunately.

Saturday sounds brilliant, but it's my birthday (fifty-bloody-four where did it all go?) so I'm away Friday-Monday meeting up with my lad 150 miles from home and can't make it. I'd be really grateful if we could repeat on the Tuesday again as we did last week, but, honestly, I do understand if people don't want to do that. I'll be there on Tuesday anyway.

Cheers, Zo.

Good idea ! I won't be able to make it on Saturday but the settings are looking really fun !
Thanks David. 👍

Perhaps some of you are wondering who the heck the drivers are in the photo that represents the Club in the Community Section online.
Even if you don't I'll tell you anyway. Closest to the camera; @IfAndOr, in the middle; @qken and farthest away; @Team_SWE_1 (aka PureGT_GOOFY).
I do love that picture. It's also being featured at the bottom of post #1.

Speaking of post #1, I added a link at the very top taking you directly to the Community main page.

And speaking of the Community..
I have already created four separate Forums for everyone crazy enough to climb into a Z8 and wanting to leave a message about
whatever.

1. The BMW Z8 Memorial Forum
The place for speaking your mind on all things Z8.

2. The Random Memorial Forum
Write whatever's on your mind. Do you think global warming is a non-issue?
Do you think I'm an a$$hole? Is Max Chilton talented?

3. The Monty Python Memorial Forum
The place for respectful and reverent discussion of the Python's and their comedy.
Also acceptable; The Young Ones, Peter Sellers, Benny Hill, Tommy Cooper, Fawlty Towers,
Mr. Bean, Gervais.. there's a theme developing here.

4. The thehobnob97 Memorial Forum
The place for anything and everything to do with Rob's awesome internet connection
and his incredible, inspiring & imposing driving skills.
Rob = @thehobnob97

This is a Club for everyone so I thought the first two members who write here below can decide what Forum number 5-6 shall be called.

Name it however you wish but keep it civil. PD allows for 30 characters and if you could please end it with 'Memorial Forum'.
Add a short description if you so desire. 👍

How about the "Reality Bytes Memorial Forum".
What is happening in our members' lives right now that you would like to share. New car? Where do you live? What have you seen or done recently? Movies, music, books, other video games, local sports teams, racing events in your area. How are the great-grandkids doing? What a second. I may be the only one with those little human types on this forum.

I'm going to the LA Auto Show in my friend's 2014 Nissan NISMO GT-R. Red and black. The new Chaparral Vision car coming out in GT6 soon is debuting at the LA Auto Show. Where could I post info and pics about it after we get back? Do I get to drive the GT-R at some point? Inquiring minds may want to know. Reality Bytes may be just the place.

I like this idea, Wheeler. Like a Z8 Facebook.
I don't use Facebook or Twitter or sites like that but your Forum sounds nice. 👍
_______________________________________________________________

With If and Wheeler's contributions that makes it six Forums and I just had a look at the
Community Manual, it says you are allowed to create ten different ones.

So please by all means, the first four members or aspiring members that read this;
Name your own Forum and I will add it to the Community as soon as possible.

Looking forward to seeing the results :)

Love it!!!
Great idea Jocke. 👍
For world domination you need to spread further into the southern hemisphere. :gtplanet:
Thank you guys. :)

And not to worry, If.
I have a guy who's handing out flyers to passers-by on the streets in every country between the South Atlantic Ocean and Indian Ocean.
From Egypt to Botswana. From Tanzania to Senegal. Brazil and Australia up next on the agenda.
Only a matter of time now..

Tomorrow's race settings; (it's too much to Copy/Paste)
just click on the 'Regulations' button.
