Professional excuse time!
I've been having trouble recently with my brake pedal sticking. I've been opening up the pedals and cleaning them out, and spaying contact cleaner into the pots. This usually sorts the problem for a couple of months, but recently it's only been lasting for a few days before I notice brake sticking again. It starts very intermitant, so I can put up with it, but gets progresevly worse. It's very distracting having to drive constantly looking at the dash to see if the brake is still on!
On Saturday I had cleaned the brake pot in the regular way, and didn't have any problems with the brake sticking during either race.
However, when I watched the replay from Sierra, I noticed something. My brake wasn't sticking, but my throttle wasn't staying at 100% while my foot was! On nearly every flat out section you can see my throttle waving about slightly. Only down to about 96% or so, and not all the time.
Today I have stripped down my pedals fully, opened up the pots to their bare components and got every spec of dust out of both brake and throttle pots. They now seem to be working faultlessly.
So I don't accept that cgg beat me fair and square. The win at Suzuka was fair as I was stupid enough not to check if a pit was required, but I probably had throttle issues in that race too, but I didn't save the replay so can't check. So that win doesn't count either!
