Hi guys,
Just a few words to say that I had a lot of fun yesterday by racing with you all!!! 👍
I'm fully satisfied about my progress. I get indeed more and more feeling with the Z8 and it's becoming a real pleasure by driving it... :D :D :D
@JockeP22 : I'm looking forward to your next Z8 evening my friend!!!

I've not setup or tested anything
Me neither really, but that's the charm of it I think. :D Just to jump in.

it's becoming a real pleasure by driving it
You were great Patrick. Especially in the rain. 👍 It must rain a lot in France.
especially the last race:tup:
Yeah, it was I agree. Even though the clock said midnight on the track it wasn't really that dark.
Thanks Aaroh..

Great nights racing, really enjoyed it. Rain was a bit severe, but same for everyone. Really enjoyed the last race aswell, seems a common theme, is it because we were fighting through the pack, or because it's back to grass roots 500pp SH, or the low light conditions, or a blend of each? Good clean hard fought battles all night, that's what we all want. Thanks again jocke

Wow!!! Congrats @cgg, very impressiv performance, hats off!!! 👍
He is always quick and reliable. He is also the reigning time-travel champion. :sly:

or because it's back to grass roots 500pp SH
I must say that 500pp / SH feels best with the Z8. qken, Aaroh and I went to Nordschleife after we were done at Apricot and
we stayed with the 500/SH setups. Great fun.

I don't remember much from last night but it looks like you were outpaced by a drunk under the rain...
So you were pissed drunk while it was pissing down. I can see that happening. :dopey:

Hi chaps, apologies if I came across as a bit blunt last night, but I had had a nightmare trying to decipher detail from the track. It's just a medical fact that eyes lose capacity to register photons with age, and when they get down to a certain level, you just can't see, whilst those with younger eyes can see some detail, albeit dim. It makes the world of difference.

Having said that, THE FIRST TWO RACES WERE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!!

I've never had more fun than I did scrapping with Cg and BB, especially on C/S, It must be said.

So, roll on next week! Cheers, Zo.

I'm sorry if I was cocky last night
I didn't see that. You mentioned to Dusty you swept the races but that was hardly cocky. If your win rate is 100% you have the
right to brag about it. 👍

I remember you mentioning this before Zolon, and I think Dusty, Goofy and Wheeler have also mentioned that the dark causes problems for them too.
I feel bad every time I plan for a night race. :ouch:

But I'm very curious Zo, what is your Exposure (Brightness) setting?
Do you change it at all for night races?
It's the setting found in Quick Options in the Pause Menu;

I change my exposure all the time. If I'm at Sierra for instance I turn it way down because Sierra has this strange
kind of brightness which no other track has in the game and I don't like it at all.

If it's dusk or pitch black night I turn it way up instead and that really helps at places like Bathurst and Nordschleife.

It's a great and quick tool to have and I change my GT6 exposure almost as often as I change the gear settings, exhaust parts
and tyres.

You could also try and change the brightness on your telly. It's just a shame if you never get a chance to enjoy the
night races because they can be as good as the daytime ones.

I've never had more fun than I did scrapping with Cg and BB,
I'm glad to hear it. :D

I myself had fun catching up to Paul almost every race.
It got to be a pattern for me, qualify 4th-5th, make a decent start, hold position for ½ - 1 lap, make a mistake, go off track,
wait for the Z8's to pass by, rejoin track, making sure not to make additional mistakes, eventually seeing Paul ahead of me, overtake him on
the final lap (or the final corner as in the first race).

Most of the time I eventually end up with Paul on the track, be it Mini's or Z8's or Capp's. I quite like that Paul. 👍
Cg and BB
That sounds like a company. Or a law firm.

Sierra has this strange kind of brightness which no other track has in the game and I don't like it at all.
You can add Willow Springs to that. At midday it's very bright.

I never touched my brightness at all, It always seems fine to me whatever the race setting*. But I'm running on a monitor not a TV. Some TV's don't have a very high contrast level. It might be worth looking at the TV's menu to see if anything can be altered. They might possibly have some sort of auto brightness setting turned on by default which may affect the viewing experience.

There you go. I knew I was there for a reason. :D

*And I think I'm around the same age has Zo. ;)

Yeah, I have to confess to the fact that my eyes have always been below average in the seeing dim object stakes, but I find it just impossible now in circumstances where others seem quite content. That recent 24 minutes at Indi(?) seasonal, for instance. I simply, absolutely, could not see the track limits.

Having said that, I didn't know that there was an exposure setting in the game. Or if I did, I'd forgotten about it (that sort of thing happens a lot, too). I have messed about with the brightness of the TV, but I find that just washes the screen out, the irrelevant bright parts become so bright that they counteract the increased brightness of the relevant parts.

Cheers, Zo.

Please tell me, you're not older than I am? :scared:
:D
Maybe I am. But then again, maybe I'm not. :sly:

I do feel older some days than others.

You're not using a Black and White TV are you? :D

But you are right the washout can be the problem. Perhaps the games exposure setting may indeed help you. There are also some Brightness and Image Quality settings within the display options menu that might be worth looking at.

Oh and perhaps turning the TV's contrast level up and the brightness down might help.
