Beyond the 97T which I'm definitely looking forward to... and the Kart... which I suppose I'm looking forward to...

I'm way more looking forward to the 1985 layouts of Monza and Brand's

the track looks almost identical. Are you certain it isn't just the background and stuff that is being updated?

Edit:
the first chicane at Monza looks a little different. Left, Right, Left

Had a chance to run some laps in this week's combo this evening. It's a good one.
Tried online (this is the only way I practice for our races) but people kept joining my room. I forgot to set it to friends only. So I politely left and it dawned on me. I practiced offline with racing hards at first to try and mimic the amount of grip lost on line but it was to much. I used racing mediums offline and almost matched my online time with Racing softs. And i had my ghost.
I think going with one compound harder tires offline is a good option to mimic the grip lost online. What do you guys think?

But on the flip side it's always on my mind what chote and mic told me, always practice under exact race conditions. That way you know what your capable of on race night.

Would like opions. Oh, and the green is the coolest looking color on this car hands down.

I do not think there is anything wrong with running offline. As long as you still run it online. The ghost has always been helpful for me learning a new track.

I remember running that Monza layout in Microprose World Circuit (or known as Grand Prix for others). For some reason, I've always enjoyed those double chicanes, rather than the one they run now (or maybe it's just the nostalgia factor since World Circuit was the most amazing racing game I ever played as a kid :D). As for Brands Hatch, it just looks like Hawthorn's and Dingle Dell are more sweepers than the current turns, which could be interesting. I may drop by Youtube to watch some videos of the 80's Brands. Also hoping that the background matches the time period. :dopey:

I don't think there's anything wrong with offline for learning the track either. But offline instills a false sense of confidence in what the car is capable of online.
RS tires have a lot more grip off line than online. That's why I was wondering if any of you use one grade harder tires to practice offline. It seemed to mimic the lose of grip online.

PD fixed this problem near the end of gt5. Seems a little ridiculous it's a problem again in gt6. Thanks for your opinion 3forSpeed. I appreciate it.

So we're not going to be able to use the two new track layouts to race on, that figures. Two more challenges that I won't do because I don't have time for them.Excellant

I'm surprised their letting us win or buy the Lotus 97T and not just restrict it's use to the two challenges.

edit:I sounded like a big baby complainer didn't I? Sorry for that. That's not like me. I must have been tired and grouchy. I usually don't complain about something that's a privalige and a joy to have. I need some sleep. If I want to try and run with the big dogs this Saturday night I'm going to need plenty of it.

Yeah, you can set a time limit. Hopefully it doesn't adopt the same glitches as the timed races in single player.

Edit: It seems that the "pit glitch" has been fixed, i.e. the tires had much less grip and degraded much more quickly.

From the Undocumented Changes thread:

Undocumented Changes

  • A bug in which tire wear and handling were affected after a pit stop seems to be corrected.

Please, God, be true.

They aren't added to the OP on that thread unless it's been confirmed.

Saw someone claiming that they aren't sure if the bug was fixed, or if they just made the first tires slower... I'm sure it must be fixed, but with the added effect of having warmed tires put on, post tire-change tires are faster than pre-tire change.

if true, that just made my year on GT6!

I was pretty much thinking the same thing. Apart from connection issues, this is probably the biggest fix so far... wonder if anyone's tested camber yet? I hear there's several phases to the update, and that's it's actually quite large... people are suggesting some noticeable physics tweaks.

EDIT: Potentially, yes about camber... unconfirmed though... could this be the update of our dreams? "Well, since we're killing GT5... let's get GT6 to about where GT5 was at least."

Dammit... why'd they have to do this patch on a Wednesday? Don't they know I can't play Wednesday nights? Don't they know who I am!?

Still haven't gotten a good answer on the camber question yet... I'm dying to test it out myself if for no other reason than I think cars with crazy camber settings look cool as hell
