The rocket feels very nostalgic around Cote. Like Graham Hill or Jim Clark should be on the grid. We will definitely get the Senna cars on the schedule soon.Still planning on using the Rocket this Saturday?
The F3 isn't bad once you take off the camber (Nice Job with camber PD, pretty accurate), but that would go against the point of having a no tuning league.
Duh!!Still planning on using the Rocket this Saturday?

I'm okay with running the rocket, was just curious. I read the race review on the flex thread and it looked like some really awesome races.
Turn it into a dirt car, I'll tune it up for you!T'was. Last few laps in one race, I got a double overtake to secure first.
Something bugging me now is that someone in my area is selling a '95 Civic stock car for $500. It comes with 3 engines and too many extra parts to list apparently. If I had knowledge on how to build cars, had the money to maintain it, had space for it, and a trailer, I'd be all over it. But I got none'o'that.

The only track on-island is a tarmac oval.
Race here in Minnesota! We have some of the fastest dirt track racers in the nation! The only track on-island is a tarmac oval.
Probably is rusted, but if they looked after it, they might've gotten some undercoating for it. Don't really need to worry about it since I haven't any money anyway. Its probably to rusted up on the frame to be worth anything. Cars near ocean air usually end up being rust buckets after a relatively shorter period than normal
That just adds more to the total amount of money I don't have, and I doubt I'd do very well/get any sponsors for a while.Race here in Minnesota! We have some of the fastest dirt track racers in the nation!
I would definitely be interested if calendar works out/I'm fast enough to be on the team/ we have a team...So uh... maybe I'm late to the party, but I just noticed this:
At the Virtual 24 Heures du Mans race in July... with a nice little Turtle Racing League - @Ph1sher "Invitational Entry" on the list.
I'm not positive of my schedule yet (there's 1 weekend in July where I won't be around... and with my luck it's probably this one) but what do we think? Could we pull this off and put a 24 hour team together? 👍👍👍
EDIT: OF COURSE IT'S THE WEEKEND I'LL BE GONE...
alternatively... the weekend I'm at the GTA finals
I would definitely be interested if calendar works out/I'm fast enough to be on the team/ we have a team...
I would venture to say that you're fast enough since I spend most of my races with you trying to figure out what track you're driving on since it's clearly a shorter one than the one I'm on.
Problem is I'm supposed to go camping that weekend... (or be at the GTA Finals)... so I'm hoping they'll reschedule (it's been mentioned in the thread as some of the best GTP drivers will, inevitably, be at the finals.)
EDIT: And I've noticed that some current and former Turtles are forming up with SNAIL teams... I mean... c'mooooon now... who'd wanna pass up on that opportunity!?
(Yes, I realize that I also drive SNAIL now, but that's because my Sundays are now significantly freed up in comparison to previous months where Sundays I was always busy and Thursdays-Saturdays I was doing nothing... I'm a Turtle, damn dammit!)
If they want a better challenge, let them go to SNAIL. They probably left because this league is boring, no challenge to it, its un-organized, etc. Let them do what they want to do.
I think he's referring to GT Academy.Im not completely ignorant, so I know GTA is grand theft auto. Is there some kind of event pulling drivers from GT? @Severn you would make a great steward! Also I think that summer draws people likely to love racing sims outdoors away from their PS3. GT6 has come at a strange time at the end of the life of the ps3. Right at the launch of the PS4?? GT is usually a flagship game for a new playstation. Just my opinion, you know they say about opinions.....

While I am perfectly capable of theorizing all of the possible reasons for someone to leave TRL, I was more referring to it as an opportunity to take it to them in a bout of friendly competition, something which will never officially be organized between SNAIL and TRL due to a number of reasons that I'm again perfectly capable of theorizing.
Also, @Ph1sher, I would like to take this opportunity to volunteer to officially be a steward. I have a number of ideas of things we could do to try to help TRL regain its regular numbers, and stop being "boring", "no challenge", and "un-organized." I know I'm somewhat irregular at the moment (poop joke), but that's because I generally have to juggle family life and responsibilities somewhere in the Thursday/Friday/Saturday combination. However, to me, Enduro is the flag-ship of this league. And if necessary, I'm willing to make some personal sacrifices (as well as sacrifices to HST and FLEX) to make sure I can be here on Saturday night's more consistently.
We had really good numbers this last week that, I'll be honest, I was really surprised by. @BionicDerp can tell you that I was pretty pessimistic when I got to the room around 9:30 and it was just him and I... I ate my words as folks like @lightningd, @Chocochocochip5, @Dolph Drago, @euclid58, @3forSpeed, and more and more just kept poring in (sorry, people I forgot, I can't remember everyone who showed.) We even had a guy who wasn't part of the league show up, was totally cool, couldn't race the whole thing because of a "dog puking" incident, if I remember correctly, was impressed and we were able to plug to league to him as well.
Honestly, Saturday night was a good night. It restored my faith a lot here and made be feel like a bit of a 🤬 for doubting... As GTA now really kicks off (with a lot of GTP names hanging out near the top), and PD looks like they're finally getting poised to actually finish this game, I think TRL has an excellent opportunity to position itself right back in the thick of things... in the position where it gets invites to races like Le Mans because we're a high forum traffic, high turnout, league.
They were just guesses, guys. You really think that's my reasoning for them not coming back? Maybe I should just step down from coordinator.
...they're always welcome?
Thanks, man. That means a lot to me to hear (read?) you say (...type?) that.
As was already mentioned, GTA is GT Academy, and I know there's several alien level guys who had never played GT before GTA grabbed their attention over the past few years. Couple that with nice new, free, DLC; the abandoning of GT5, etc... I think GT6 stands to have a potential influx of new players looking for a league to call home. We just need to separate ourselves... Be unique in noticeable, fun, ways... Get attention by holding public events, etc... In all honesty (I don't know which one came first), it bugs me that SNAIL's Enduro is also on Saturday night... But I don't think we should compete with them.
"Game Theory" states that we need to simply identify what the draw is for other leagues, and come up with something else to fill the needs/wants of people who may not like certain aspects of other league's Enduros... If SNAIL is playing Disco at their club, we shouldn't compete by playing Disco too... They're too big a name for that. We need to identify another group of fans, and play the music they want to dance to. We're not competing then, we're filling a gap.
