Well if a TT is needed, pick a track, car, and set people at it. Just divide the list into thirds/fourths and bam! Divisions.

Only problem I have with that idea is, well to use myself as an example, I'm far better at running a quick lap than a quick race. So, even though a TT might land me in Div 1, I'm not ready for Div 1... Yet...

Time trials don't really measure accurately. I have found the biggest difference between the fast division 2 guys and the division 1 guys is mainly consistency, awareness and experience. You can't measure that in a time trial. Anyone can hit a fast flying lap.

I suspect the faster div 2 racers will be moving up to div 1 soon and things will even out.

Im not sure honestly..I know we have some new Turtle Stewards Roy and Speed. Both have done a great job, and very pleased with them! I guess most of them are busy in Race 2? Disconnection issues? Well Scarecrow is hosting Division 2 this week which he has the experience and good connection so maybe D2 will have a good grid for Race 2

Anyway, I'm reading that some people are having issues with update 1.03. I haven't downloaded it and installed it yet, but has anyone encountered these issues?

My advice is to backup your save game before you update, just in case something should happen (it shouldn't, though).

Yes had problems. Triple beep shut down of ps3. Easy way to fix though and no other issues. Sign out of ps3 from xmb menu. Load game. Sign back in after game is loaded then go to notifications to install new update.

Found this solution in a thread titled system crashes when loading 1.03 update in the frequently asked questions section.

The Toyota ft1 is awesome. An easy gold in the seasonal too. But you only have to get bronze to win the car.

Same thing happened to me. I was really annoyed about it. Actually I was more than annoyed. I was . Anyway thanks for the solution.

I've noticed that as well... At this point I've friend listed most of the guys in D2 and it always seems like we have a few that start race 1, and then at some point in the race end up in a wall, leaving room, and then signing off, not to be seen again that night.

I'm going to assume (and hope) that it's connection issues and not frustration.

Thanks for posting this. I'm just going to skip the normal route and go straight to updating this way to avoid any issues to begin with.

Even though I got the fastest times with the BRZ... the logical choice for me would be the Scion because it would be the cleanest and most consistent.

Which is why I need to bow out of this race... because I refuse to drive a Scion.

i would have submitted mine but im away from home.. guess ill have to submit mine when it reopens..i was in Division 2 Gold to end off GT5, so my goal is to crack into like division 1 silver. seems wicked but ill give it a shot. 👍

I'm just really interested in seeing where my times fall... I know exactly where I could have shaved off more time from each qualifier, but it got to the point where I couldn't string together a lap of totally perfect corners. I'm interested to know where that puts me so I can know how much of a perfectionist I really need to be.

I'll always support and be apart of the wrs. I've made quite a few friends over there and the organizers are really top shelf guys. although it's time trials, its community first and competition second. Mitch, Lucas, Kevin, Chris and Daniel (just to name a few) are the reason I got way faster than what I was. I highly recommend that any turtle join them

the other solution (unbelievable that this works):

Accept the update as soon as it pops up during bootup (within 1-2 seconds). worked for me after several failed attempts previously

Actually, I've noticed that a lot of the Race 2 dropouts seem to be some of the noobies who have just joined the group. Perhaps they don't do as well as they thought they would right out of the box so they discourage easily. Perhaps new members should automatically just start in Division 3 and move up as required ?

As for setting up the Divisions, let me know when you create the Senior Division ..... I'll kick butt !!
