Just a heads up that I may not be there for the race tonight after all. I'm going out tonight, and while I think I'll be back in time to race, I'm not entirely sure. So if I don't show up tonight you guys will know why 👍

Im feeling a full room of 15 tonight
Im getting in early for practice and a guaranteed spot

Thats fine!👍

But please , if you do not have a A+ connection , this is for anyone who opens the room , please let beal or myself open the room. I will open the room @ 6:40pm et / 9:40pm pt. So please feel free to practice up until that time , back out and when you see my PSN name or beal's 1st , then jump back in.

The reason for the A+ connection is that I have a feeling we're going to need it with a full room and mics on.

Thanks everyone!

I was on Spa last night with the Lexus and it handles awesome with both sets of tires.
What wheel did you get?

Yeah ill be in at 930 ET. Last night I did a 20 min practice so id like to have another 30 minute session before the 15 minute shootout.

Okay. Here we go.

I averaged the lap time to 2:20. With 105 minutes of racing , not including pit stops , I calculated the laps for tonights race at Spa being 47 laps. If anyone thinks that my calculation is incorrect:dopey: , please don't hesitate to say something.:)

Remember , we are starting this season off with a couple of changes;

1-Soft/Hard tires will be used instead of Med/Hard. Same rules apply with a compound change once during the race.

2-There will be only 15 minutes of qualifing so we can have more actual race time / laps.

So everyone can have the full 15 minutes of qualifing , I would suggest that everyone racing be on time. (7pm et / 10pm pt).

See everyone tonight!

Checked the math, spot on 👍

140 seconds per lap * 47 laps = 6580 seconds / 60 = 109.67 minutes.

Unless of course I'm out somewhere

EDIT: 140 seconds per lap * 45 laps = 6300 seconds / 60 = 105 minutes.

I'll add you when I get home, hope you can make it tonight.

With the kind input from dabneyd, tonights race will be 45 laps.

Yeah, math!

I think we should almost always err on the short side time-wise to account for the time spent in the pits. I think we'll be finishing this race just after midnight.

BTW, I'm running the same colors that I do on Sundays, Matte Light Silver with Matte Dark Silver wheels, still #8.

Well, soon turned out not to be as soon as I'd hoped. The IS-F RM I had was modified for another series and had to be stabled and another bought, setup and broke in. Just got that finished and am now heading to D2 from some practice.

I know everyone can't watch this now as we're going to race soon, but make sure to watch the whole thing when you can. Also I've found from watching this that I'm apparently a member of the "carparazzi". I'm excited to see what cars will show up this summer. If only I could be there.:grumpy:

The racing was great as always guys. The new tire rules add an interesting twist to the whole deal; I wish I would have taken better advantage of it. It took me way too long to get the hang of that car but doing well at Spa is difficult enough let alone having a car you have never driven.

On another note, I'm glad to see that this series is really picking up. It comes with having a well directed program and a good idea as its base. I don't know about everyone else, but I'll be supporting it whenever I have time.

The new tire rules add an interesting twist to the whole deal;

I have to agree with this, I couldn't recover all the places I lost after doing my RH stint, I was 4th and dropped to 9th.

I couldn't believe that I was in that place, in front of Nick (He obviously overtook me), but I didn't refueled enough to survive the whole RH stint at the first pitstop

There is a little more stratagy involved with the tire combo and this car using more fuel. Race stratagy... Hmm... Makes this kind of racing interesting.

I didn't think I was going to make it on fuel.

Haha when I watched the replay to take pictures (which I will have up tonight) you were sooo close on fuel

Sounds like an exciting race! Looking forward to next week. Better get a night of practice in to set a tire/fuel/pit strategy.

You could call it an offseason or just another week off, but a new Season has begun in the Saturday Nights Endurance Club. Changes including the new qualifying procedure and getting rid of the Racing Mediums and bringing in the Racing Softs would create new challenges for the new season. The biggest change being the new car, the LEXUS IS F RM '07. The first track of the new season would be Curcuit De Spa Francorchamps! This 4.352 mile course would be the first challenge of the new season and heres what it looked like last night.

eXDlq.jpg

Kendawg198 was the driver who picked this track for this season. Clearly he knew what he was going into as he starts P1 for Round 1 in front of the 12 car field.

QTJeC.jpg

Turn 1, Lap 1 as the field races through the "La Source" hairpin.

sNPET.jpg

Kendawg198 leads the field up the iconic "Raidillion Eau Rouge" hill on the opening lap.

Zl4RH.jpg

Trouble breaks out going up the hill as a couple drivers recieve penalties and kcheeb makes an amazing save.

46ayG.jpg

The field begins to spread out as they race down the Kemmel Straight

EpjJz.jpg

The first lap of 45 is complete. The top 7 drivers time their braking going into the chicane right before the line. In the background four cars race into the chicane also.

I0zK0.jpg

Let the strategy begin. Lap 13 is the first lap cars come down the pitlane. How will the Racing Softs and Hards come into play at the end. When will they change compounds? Will fuel be a challenge? All these questions rise as the laps start to dwindle

pLzGI.jpg

ChuthuluGoat calls it a day on lap 27 and pulls to the side.

OP8Ud.jpg

Only 12 laps to go as different strategies begin to play out, every driver fights for every second on track.

dB6ZW.jpg

He picks the track, he takes the pole, and he gets the win! Kendawg198 dominates Round 1 and has a two point lead going into Round 2. And by the way, the fastest lap of the night, Kendawg198: 2:18.682

9bBv3.jpg

After 45 laps of racing, only a mere 8.242 seconds seperated first and second place. rossitronic gets 2nd place and starts the season off on a good note.

4hsLH.jpg

Nic-KL brings home the last spot on the podium in Belgium with a 3rd place finish. +50.637

YXwrm.jpg

If you watched this final lap you would feel the same way. trash wishes their was one more lap missing a Top 5 finish by .594 seconds. dabneyd takes 5th place in Spa.

Next week will be a 1st for the SPEC Series as they go to a custom Tarmac track in Toscana, Italy. Hopefully the Soft/Hard compound will continue to offer close racing. See you in Italy for Round 2!
