OMG, that's was a pretty good race to finish the season on, right up until I drove off the track! Damn. And, I finally put a good tune on the S2000. What a pain in the ars that car was. I don't ever want to drive another Honda again.

After watching the replay, I am wondering how DBirdyD is going to sort out the IRs I expect to see. At times, it looked like a Cat-n-Mouse event. Lots of full speed contact.

Next time I get online line I want to test the real car list for the next season, so make it final, asap.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I suspect you would have caught me for 2nd if not for that spin in Paddock Hill Bend. Huge win by @Whitey093. You crushed us. And congrats on the season title too.

You know, I want to congratulate Whitey on his win. But I think we all know it was pretty much his to lose. I feel like if I say way to go Whitey your the best! it's almost patronizing.

I also recognize however, how unsportsmanlike it can be to say nothing positive towards another racer who has won regardless if they had an advantage or not.

In a effort to appease both concerns the following is what I've come up with.....

Congratulations whitey on your overall performance. you showed great consistency and a über positive attitude towards all throughout this season. You shared tactics and info without pause to anyone that asked and you contributed a lot of your time to tasks that could have just as easily been left in the wind.

Yes you had the fastest car and yes you would have had to really mess up bad to fudge up a victory. But you didn't. You represent a great standard in competition that we should all think about and consider. A super positive skillful racer regardless if he wins or loses.

Enjoy your victory! saver it! You deserve it!

:gtpflag:

Thanks guys! I look at it like this. After Motegi, i realized i would definitely win because the car is just too good and the playing field wasnt even. So i wondered what to do. Should i limit myself somehow or take the championship. I felt limiting myself would be patronizing and since ive never really won anything in gran turismo and have always been an also ran just take the championship and move on.

Now the long view is we have a lot of new guys so i wanted to help people the most i could and since the bop was so out of balance i wanted to help that for next season. Hopefully i achieved some of that. I have realized that the bop always has holes and the advantage swings both ways and you have to stay level wether you're up or down and just do your best.

On that note, here are the real winners from last night:

1st place- @Vegasracer
Getting that time in that car while injured is just bonkers. I cant imagine what would have happened this season if he had gotten my car.

2nd place- @TEX36
What a run last night! Always the smooth and consistent racer and always finding his groove as the season ends, lol. Great race Tex!

3rd place- @Xradkins
The S2000 was the fifth best car at best and for a while last night it looked like he was going to get 2nd. That is getting the most put of what you have and thats a testament to how good X is!

These are the things that mattered last night, people driving above what is expected. Getting an 8th place car up to 2nd, making a hopeless car competitive and running a mistake free race to put yourself in position at the end are the impressive things that happen in gt1.

Winning in the best car doesnt mean too much and believe it or not i look forward to being on the bottom next season trying to tune and strategize the best possible finish with whatever car i have. Thats the rewarding part of this league.

Great racing everyone last night to a fun race to the season closing. Great racing @TEX36 back and forth, i ended up into Jake after passing you cause their was no where for me to go after he spun out. I had alot of fun and looking forward to the next season.

@Jakedog23 Don't feel bad that i ended up going into you. That was all me, i should have slowed down to see where you were going to end up stopping after the spin. No need to feel bad about it, have a new season to race against each other.

Congrats from the back of the pack! Hopefully next season I'll make a good pick on a car and find a decent enough tune to be in the amateur mix!

The tuning isnt a hurdle. Birdy, scorp, xrad and pretty much everyone really, will help with tuning. We all want everyone to get the most out of their cars so the drivers can decide the races. Next season should provide those trapped mid pack and back due to under performing cars a better chance up front.
