no IR's from this week the race is void. I'm sure however tex could use a servant to rub his feet and get his slippers... a week should suffice.Well, my apologies to Tex who I biffed off track on the first lap. Consider that a voluntary IR Birdie. Do I really need to do the paperwork? Fighting a cold this week and probably should have stayed away, but with people racing one handed, with a broken ankle, etc., it seemed like a minor inconvenience. Unfortunately, I made that kind of -- lose the race in the first lap -- mistake and took Tex out with me.
Hate the snafus, but I'm always glad that, when snafus occur I'm wasting game credits not actual dineros doing this (and I know we don't get the time back, but I also didn't haul a kart 5 hours to have the engine misfire all weekend). Coach races and he loves GT6, so we must be learning in races like last night. Plus it was fun. Right? Maybe?

Great! So if you can make the car better, then there is hope for others to make their setup better-er. LOLTeam Mitsubishi is not looking forward to Daytona, however, things are looking better. We have improved the car greatly. After suspension, transmission, aero package and the total rebuild of the engine package on the car, we have moved forward with our efforts. So far we have been able to fight off tire wear and gained some speed on the long straights. Current fast lap times are in the 1:55.740 range and we might be able to work it down a couple of tenths from there. We remain optimistic here at Daytona but only time will tell.
1:55.325 and chasing!
it is the stupidest thing in the world, but the the road course doesn't have the rolling start option. No debating, just a question: Isn't there a rolling start option in the game?
and the flat floor is mandatory (must be equipped) so testing with it off is pointless.I'm in this range too. However, top speed is king. With flat floor I get 252 km/h (157 mph) crossing the start finish line. Took the flat floor off and lose about 0.5 - 0.8 in the first half of the track, but when I hit the oval I get around 270 km/h (168 mph) and fast lap 1:54.6xx. Turn 1 however is a horror show and the bus stop is a challenge - not worth the risk especially if you challenge for position, and there is not a hack of a difference between the SM's and SS's when the flat floor is on....
It will be watched closely, and heavily penalised (4 points) for a huge gain before the start line.I agree. I just hope people dont try to take advantage and jump the start as to get a run going into T1. I am not one to file IR's much but if i see anyone trying to gain an edge using the rolling start i will drop the hammer. We have to maintain the integrity of the start here at all costs.

you can't hit the gas until the green is givin by the person deemed to be the starter.so to be clear. you can't hit the gas until you cross the start line correct?
it would be the back starter with a mic so that they can tell the leader the pack is stacked up tight. My 2¢ on the person who is deemed to start the race should be a neutral 3rd party that isn't racing. Not because I don't trust you guys but because I don't want that starter to gain an unfair advantage. Again just my 2¢
option AIf we end up going for the rolling start, I think it is important to set the rules clearly because it might affect pit strategy. We may want to test the amount of fuel we use, see what the effect of cold tires will have on turn 1 etc.
Suggestions....
Sit for 6 minutes and 40 seconds without moving and do one formation lap at 65 mph / 104 km/h
or
Circulate for 10 minutes. Below are the speeds that you have to drive at to complete 2 or 3 or 4 laps in 10 minutes. (3 laps at 64 mph / 103 km/h is probably the one to go for):
2 laps at 43 mph or 69 km/h (lap times must be 5.00.000) (too slow?)
3 laps at 64 mph or 103 km/h (lap times must be 3:20.000)
4 laps at 85 mph or 137 km/h (Lap times must be 2:30.000) (too fast?)
Can someone double check calculations - it's bin a while since I used the abacus.
His posts are impressive, however I think he does it off the top of his head, the amount of time calculating laps for sundays it's just second nature nowI continue to be impressed with your detailed posts and the amount of thought and time/testing you put in @Rednose58
