Looks like my vote got lost in the after race conversations. Put me down for Race 2... not that it look like it matters at this point ;)

Good night racing tonight. The Lambo combo wasn't bad. However far from great. First one I was having grip issues. Almost a second off my pace. Second race swapped over to another Lambo with wheels and it was much better.

Loads of respectful racers in D1 and that sure makes for a good night of racing. I for one appreciate you guys.

:tup:Definitely a good group! Lots of close clean battles. Martin and I went door to door with VERY minimal contact for almost 2 FULL LAPS during the 2nd Indy Road Course race. I'll see if I can grab some pictures this week and post them up.

Thank you shmiggz for choosing the combo you did. It was a edge of your seat thrill ride for me last night with that combo. I am in love! Please lets never vote it off.💡

At first I hated the combo. IRC seemed to suck the life out of the Ferrari. Like it knew it was on American soil and began to lose its soul. Then I started firguring out the lines and braking points and it was much better afterwards.

Someone said (Think it was DW) that the Lambo doesnt even start to get good until the 10th lap. I agree full heartedly. Once the tires were a little scrubbed in, it really started to come alive. I series of bad events kept me from being a serious competitor, but damn that car felt amazing there. I'll have to check the replays, but I'm certain I was killing the gap on the last two laps.

Are we still doing the good racecraft practice tonight? I seriously need to train my braking when drafting someone under pressure. :/

So, this brings me to a subject I think needs to be addressed. Room etiquette. I'm not calling anyone out specifically. If this is you, let this sink in a little, if its not, then let in go in one ear and out the other.
During the weekly non-official SNAIL events, chatting, joking around, and all that is fine and dandy, however during the Sunday event, we need to keep it to a premium. There are lots of directions, coordination and information that needs to happen during qualifying, directly before and after a race that the host/director/scorekeeper needs to put out. They should be the first voice you hear and should not have to battle with someone else over the mic to be heard at any point during the race. Once all information has been put out, and your in the lobby waiting for loading, etc, feel free to chat it up, but once the director/host starts putting out direction, please, shut your gob.
Further, talking during qualifying is distracting to people still qualifying. Same goes for racing. The only time during a race someone should be on their mic is to maximize situational awareness by verbally communicating position, intentions, etc. If you are not actively talking on your mic or participating in a conversation. Mute your mic. No one wants to hear whatever noise is going on in the background, be it music, wife/girlfriend, dog, what have you. This is especially true while racing and qualifying. If the room is getting near capacity, 12-13 or more, then the director may ask you to turn off your mic. This is because mics take up bandwidth, a commodity on a PD server. Turning off mics helps combat lag spikes and improve gameplay quality. If you are asked to turn off your mic. TURN OFF YOUR MIC. I want to stress this. do not ignore the director and just leave it on, do not simply mute it. Turn it off, powered down, disconnected from the PS3. This is a courtesy to everyone in the room, and again, improves game play. Lag literally affects every aspect of gameplay, from the physics to getting slammed by a car that was in one place and is now magically taking up your AO.
Language, right, we are adults, yada yada. I'm not talking about the occasional f bomb or something. I'm talking about the long string of obscenities that I heard last night between what I imagine was someone and there friend, or a skit making fun of jersey shore.
There are 1 to 3 people that will run a room. Let them do the setting up, track changes and start the races. If they ask for help, go ahead and help, if you are not the host, director or scorekeeper, please do not give commands or take it upon yourself to start a race.
Finally, please have your audio set up in such a way that you can hear people on a mic. Everyone needs to be able to at least hear instructions, if not respond. This is especially true when trying to coordinate multi grid qualifying.

Proper etiquette and good sense go a long way in making for a good, smooth running night.

Thank u all for the thumbs up for my combo choice. It provided awesome competition bringing totally down the myth that close races only happen with lower pp.
The Lambo combo, after hating it so much i won the 2nd race with a 10 sec gap over the second place..... unreal.
Overal, once again, was a truly fun night.

Can someone set me up with a link to the instructional video about uploading replays to the PS3. I almost had it.
upload button to the left. Got it.

another terrible night.... :/ i think i might take time off, see you all around soon

I feel your pain. I've had those nights of frustration.

I didn't end up skipping a week. As for the next day I knew how much I look forward to Sunday night and truly couldn't pull myself away. They also picked a combo I desired strongly to.

My advice, think it over and if by Sunday you still feel the same. Take that time off.

Hope you don't. As I'm sure you will miss the racing. ;)

It was a good battle

So it looks like (unofficially) Lambo at Eiger is gone and Lotus at Madrid is half gone. Sad to see that Lotus combo finally go. It's weird because I never thought I would like it, but it actually grew to be my favorite. Hopefully the car sticks around, that thing sounds beastly and it handles like it's on rails.

I just sent you the instructions, but sounds like cheeb my have beaten me to the punch since I just got a PM from him saying that the D4 results have been entered. 👍

I'll work on the results post when I get home from work. Sorry for the delay guys, but this Thursday practice thing certainly takes some of the pressure off. Speaking of which..

If you believe that another driver exhibited poor racecraft or is guilty of an OLR Rules violation, please file a complaint by 10pm Eastern / 7pm Pacific tonight. Please follow the complaint process precisely or it might not be addressed! If you're undecided on whether or not you should file a complaint, please read this. Also keep in mind that a race complaint isn't supposed to be an argument. Here are some good tips on how to make sure things stay civil and respectful. 👍

Thanks Owens, i love racing with you all, i agree it would be really hard to stop... I'll give it one more week. Next week will be better i feel it

Hey everyone. I finally got around to setting a time trial lap in the RX7 at Laguna Sega: 1:34.580

Hopefully I will get placed in a division and be racing with you all soon.

You'll feel better next week. I get the same way with certain combos. Sometimes it feels so bad it almost ruins the beginning of my work week. Don't let it get ya down man, you'll be battling door to door with us again next week when the new combos come out.

Divison 3 Pictures

Lotus Elise RM '96 (135 hp/478 PP)(Racing Hard tires)
@Circuito de Madrid (7 laps)

Lamborghini Countach LP400 '74 (516 PP) (Sports Soft tires)
@Eiger Nordwand Short Track (10 laps)

Ferrari SP1 '08 (Sports Soft tires)
@Road Course - Indy (6 laps)

I wasn't expecting a lot from the Countach but I was very surprised by how much fun it was. Maybe it was because of the low number of people we had in D4 but trying to get to the front and battle for position while the car was fighting you back was a challenge. This is probably the first week where I enjoyed all three combos.
