Who's getting excited for S.N.A.I.L. keychains? All cut and ready to be finished. Then off to powder coater.

Customer resourced me to do a Star Trek Wall Art. While I had the design handy. Resized it and cut a couple keychains/ ornaments. Whatever they want to use them for. LoL

I am!!! :D

@kcheeb I believe I was using the "Real" setting as its a habit of mine. :)

I have run GT6 on 'SNAIL only' settings.

The expensive Ferraris are great! I took the mentality of 'Drive it like a race car, but... Remember... It is a $10,000,000 race car, so... No scratches or you is swimmin' with the fishes, got dat?" The AI is not that dramatic, but... a little creative help goes a long way.

I want one of those Star Trek medallions. What do you want for one?

The question about removing the spoiler. S.N.A.I.L. is about being as close to equally prepared cars as possible. Even if the tuning prohibited setting allows it (I will test it later), you are not allowed to remove a spoiler from a car for S.N.A.I.L. races. This is something that is easily enforced by a quick visual check so it's not a huge effort to police it.

Two years ago today, the Sunday Night American Interactive League made it's GTPlanet debut. The S.N.A.I.L. O.P. was born and the beginning of what has become one of the most successful sim racing leagues in Gran Turismo history.

Congratulations to @zer05ive, @kcheeb and the entire SNAIL community. What a hell of a ride it has been so far. My run with this League has been just spectacular. For almost a year and a half, it has been something that I have always looked forward to. It has always been interesting and fun. God knows that I don't win very often and I have never had an over all Sunday win. There are other long time members that are in the same boat as I am but we still keep coming back. Some would say that coming in last most of the time would get old and be grounds to just quit. I would be lying if I said it didn't bother me from time to time but winning is only a small part of why we show up. I am impressed day after day with just how cool and generous all of our members are.

Thanks to the SNAIL Marketplace and an amazing member, I am racing in a proper driving rig. It is changing everything! Not too long ago one of our members remarked that he won;t have the funds to get his own copy of GT6 and within no time there were offers to purchase a copy for him. Once upon a time I was also supplied with DLC cars and tracks so I would not miss out on any racing, also courtesy of one of our members. As I write this, there a SNAIL key chains being hand made by another one of our members. I know of at least 50 people that would love to have one. Myself included.

The brotherhood within *just* the thread is something that is exceptionally rare. I have always thought that if I were to ever start a company and have to go to war, I would want all of SNAIL behind me. From the leadership to management and the enthusiasm of the members, every aspect of our League is enjoyable and productive. It is very rare to find this level of camaraderie, respect and friendship in any form these days.

Take this mentality to the track and that really increases the level of fun. Yes, we are a bunch of gorillas and sometimes there is a little heat on the track but the racing is as good as it gets. I show up every Sunday night with the hope of a win but the main thing I look forward to are the intense battles. The position doesn't matter. It is getting together with another diver and thinking "awe-right! here we go!" Win, lose or draw, the fight is why I come here. I couple of weeks ago, I actually had the lead in one of our races. Another driver was hot on my trail for several laps. And then it happened. He took my lead. This driver was patient and took several laps to set me up. When it was time, he made the pass. He also held it for the win. Normally I would have been bummed about it but to witness and be a part of such a perfect pass was way cooler than the win would have been. It's a little silly but it really makes a statement on why this League is so successful.

There are many things I am proud of in my SNAIL world. The ones that mean the most to me are my one year star and that I am in the top 5 for most races attended. I am a weird cat and tend to lose interest in things pretty quickly and the fact that I am still this excited really says a great deal about our organization. We are going to have to come up with a new name for The One Year club. Starting today, we are going to have members with two gold stars. In 4 months I will get my second star. I think that is pretty damn cool!

I have mentioned it before but I have played almost every incarnation of Gran Turismo that PD has put out. I have been there since GT1. I know there are issues with GT6 but I am choosing to ignore them. GT6 is a new game for me on many levels. The most significant one being that I am beginning this new journey in a most awesome race rig and that I am approaching this new game with all of the SNAIL philosophy. In the past I used all aids, a grossly over powered car, racing softs and the bull in a china shop approach to track etiquette.
This time around I am running strictly with the SNAIL rules. No tuning, League approved tires and not contact. It is so much harder but so much more fun. For the first time I feel like I am playing the game as it was intended.

I can't thank everyone that is SNAIL for such an amazing and fun organization. I see so much in our future. The next few days, months and years are sure to provide an even more exciting experience for all of us.

It's a moot point anyhow. You can't enter a tuning prohibited room in a car with the wing removed.

Severe issue running reverse grid. I will get some test done tomorrow evening.

Taking this a step further seems that anytime a second race is tried at the same track it results in a field of invisible cars. So far I have only seen this when rooms are set to race for fun. I will test tomorrow on rooms set to racing for real and report back. If this is still happening it looks as it will throw a curve ball into sunday night racing.

Will it work if you set it to 2 minute qualifying, fastest first and everyone lines up in reverse grid?

Only if I'm standing on one leg while touching my index finger to my nose.

Tonight was my first real experience racing on line and I'm left with the impression GT6 is still an update away from being ready for Sunday night. We couldn't get reverse grid working for last 2 combos - we all ended up in a weird one car race. There was also an issue with sound cutting out for short periods of time (3-5 seconds). It happened to me during a Q and a race.

Overall I'm really liking GT6; the cars and tracks look great, we have new tracks, and doing Q without traffic was also much needed. I've been having some fun with the special events and such but wow, the game is not really ready for release. We are pretty much doing beta testing (as Owens says), and I'm ok with that. We need reverse grid fixed, we need a reset to default on the tuning sheets...I'm sure there is a bunch more stuff to be fixed. Just get the next update out quick PD.

I've been out of town all week and likely won't be able to do a new time time trial before Sunday night... Am I out if I can't submit the new time, or can I just join D3 like last week's test?

I've been running the Goodwood events most of the night. Using the clutch and shifter for everything that would let me.

Started at 2-1 with the BMW, and just finished up with 5-3. The clutch shifting is different in each car. The BMW was pretty standard and reliable, the Lotus not so much. Got to 3-1 and was astounded by how well that Audi Rally car shifts. I don't recall missing more than a few shifts and I drove it more than necessary just because it did shift so well. The Aston was similar to the BMW with clutch and shift action but the GT40 in 3-3 was a finicky bi:censored: getting into second from either direction. Plus, you actually had to slip the clutch on launch to get the thing out of the hole with anything approaching quick. The thing was, I found myself driving it past gold as well, just to hear that engine do its thing when I did shift it right. The Alpha's action dances with the beemer and the One-77 and the Lambo pushed all of them into the pool, then jumped in with them. The Stratos has decent shift action but it's an oversteering hunk that required a lot of steering finesse to get through to gold and as soon as I did, I moved on. All the cars in section 5 are flappy paddle. If you haven't already, either get to 5-3 and jump in that X2010 prototype or go buy one. I don't know what they did to the sound of that thing, but once I got moving in it, my eyes got big and the smile on my face just got wider and wider each time I tried that event. Think I got 3 good runs out of about 8 tries. The motor starts in the low revs and sounds like it wants to gnaw your nose off and as you progress up the rev range it gets to biting your whole face and worrying it like a Staffordshire Terrier with it's favorite chew toy . It's a brutally visceral sound that just builds and builds until your eardrums can take no more. I've been driving all night with my surround system turned up enough that my wife can hear the cars upstairs. It was getting late when I started section 5 so I put on the headset. When I fired up that 2010, my reaction to it in full song can be pretty much described as "OMG!? what did they do to this thing?" I am really looking forward to hearing what it sounds like over my sound system.

Sorry to hear there were issues with the practice session tonight. Hopefully PD will address these quickly and we can settle in to racing with the well oiled machine we've all become accustomed to.

Owens, if you would be so kind, put me down for 2 or 3 of those SNAIL fobs.

We had it working the other night. I think we had to turn off qualifying and the qualify alone option and it worked fine.

Exactly right! You must turn off qualifying and qualify alone for reverse grid to work. Already tested it. When the next round starts, you need to turn qualifying and qualify alone back on. Race then repeat.
I thought the race directors already knew that other wise I would have posted it.

You're good to go for Sunday 👍 We'd like as many S.N.A.I.L.s as can run the tt though :)

Owens, everything you make looks great! I'll take one of each please.

Exosphere, awesome pit board and Happy 2 years for S.N.A.I.L!

Anyone interested in some 15 annivesary spec races this afternoon or evening?

I was running the Beemer seasonal last night and while I do like seeing my faster friends racing lines, but is there a way to turn them off? It took me a while to gold the even as a lot of racing lines were blocking critical breaking points. If that option exists I did not find it.

Also, not sure if already mentioned, but for those just getting the game or that have not been able to put a lot of wheel time in yet; you need to finish the National A License in order to have the Online Mode enabled. It takes about 20-25 minutes and easy to Gold each event, but take this in consideration for Sunday races.

A suggestion was made that while you have it all a part, and if you don't use the clutch, to put the clutch spring under the accelerator.
I tried it and like the pedal "feel" for the accelerator.
Just passing a thought along.
Enjoy your new gifts and be sure to "kiss the Giver" ......unless you bought it for yourself.
