Our little group has settled very nicely into a groove that is as much traditional S.N.A.I.L. as it is modern. Watching the membership grow not only in numbers but in spirit has been pretty enjoyable. So much of the thread is centered around community and friendship. Healthy competition and rivalry on track and a sense of a single race team when we are not engaged in battle.

Lately I have seen a big increase in divers helping and coaching one another. Not only is this beyond cool, it has always been a tradition and part of the roots of this organization. The vets will remember, but back in the early days of S.N.A.I.L., coaching sessions were a part of the weekly line up. Our top drivers would set aside time every week for group instruction and were also available for private sessions. It is this kind of positive attitude that has kept our League strong over the years.

One more Sunday left in another exciting and challenging season. More challenging at times than we bargained for. Next week will be a busy time for all of Team S.N.A.I.L. The end of a season means promotion and relegation will take place. Just a quick note: Scores, data and replays need to be sorted as early as possible so that the process of divisional alignment can take place. We won't have the results or the new driver list available until late next week. Be patient and be kind.

Have you done your homework? I have. The Results Doc is getting more traffic than ever but are you all seeing the real story? Some of you are but I bet that many are not. Since last Sunday, I have been putting my race strategy together for this coming Sunday night. I am currently sitting second in points for my division. (heh! yay me!) @TEX36 is in the cat bird seat. Mathematically, I still have a shot at the March title! Shame I suck at math and a bigger shame I am not a faster driver! The D6 leader is going to be a super tough customer. Third, fourth and fifth place are hot on my heels. I have my work cut out for me if I plan on defending the second step on the podium!

I have also been planning for next month as well. I have been eyeballing likely candidates that could be moved into my division. Some from D5 and some from D7. With the data available, I have been calculating who could be a real threat and who could stand in my way of a possible win. The information is all there if you dig deep enough! The statistics and data that have been put together over the past couple of years is another tradition and reason that S.N.A.I.L will persevere long into the future.

Another one of our long time traditions is the action photos taken by members of each division. You all have taken it to the next level! There is even a little competition involved. We are getting more photo documentation of our League in action than we ever have. The quality has improved dramatically as well. From race videos to witty commentary down to getting that perfect shot. Everyone involved sharing their technique along the way. Post #2 has never looked so good.

I hesitated at adding this last section in but here goes. I am truly bewildered at this point. Last Sunday was a disaster. I have not uploaded my (2) replays nor have I entered data. I will get it done this weekend but I have been preoccupied with something else. If you don't think this group is amazing, just keep up with the thread. It is a testament to our resolve to stick with it even when the reason we are all here is broken.

I started another thread to see just how widespread the connection issues are and it didn't take long to confirm what I already knew. It is GT6. Not us. Other groups and individuals are migrating to other venues because of the problems. I can't afford to go that way and this is my home. It has been put out there that the fun outweighs the headaches and I follow that notion. I don't know if it is even possible to create a big enough stink for P.D. to address this but if there were a more dedicated and talented group out there I would like to meet them. I believe we have the intelligence and drive to come up with some way of getting the word out.

In the mean time I propose that all divisions get together and start creating an E.A.P. or "Emergency Action Plan." When we lose drivers or entire rooms melt down, it sends us into panic and chaos. We are S.N.A.I.L. and we overcome the issues but wouldn't it make more sense to have a plan to go to when everything goes haywire? I am not talking League policy but more a to do list. If a room detonates, what are the next steps? If the main host flames out, who is next in line to create a new room and who will handle communication to the rest of the division. There are many ways to approach this. I don't see any signs that P.D. will address these issues any time soon and I also don't see any signs of S.N.A.I.L. backing down any time soon either. If we work together, we can find ways to lessen the blow when our races get interrupted. If there is a SNAIL, there is a way!

Hey Guys, I made a time zone error in my post this morning. The usual time we've been doing Mystic Racing has actually been 11pm Eastern / 8pm Pacific. If you guys can wait until the usual time, then great. If not, just start without me and I'll join in late. Sorry for the confusion, but please post your intentions either way.

That's the beauty of it. You don't need to do anything to join other than join the room number that I post. There's no cars to buy or oil to change. There's nothing to practice either since nobody knows what car or track we'll be racing until the event starts. This event is all about casual racing and having fun bangin' gears with your fellow SNAILs. :)
I'm not going to make it maybe next week

I finally did it guys. Ordered my G27 just now should have it by thursday. I am curious though, should I start racing with my division with the wheel as soon as possible? or practice a week or so? I just don't wanna be dropped down to part time driver since i didn't make it to one of the previous races this season.
When I got mine on a Friday didn't get to use it till Saturday . It was my first week in snail I only had two days of practice and I was all ready doing a lot better even beating my best times so I would do it

5.3 magnitude centered 15 to 20 miles from my house.

What a way to end the Mystic race night for me!!!

Lots of fun, see ya next time.

My house was a rockin'! It seemed to last a long time:crazy:

Hey @Mark II (xpiratenationx) sorry again for hitting you when we were in first and second. It really shows my inexperience to jeopardize our positions by my doing that. All those times the advanced guys said to me 'if you fight with the person next to you, it just helps those ahead and behind you' kind of sunk in better now, me having to eat finishing in almost last place. I'm glad it didn't hurt your position as bad. I hope I'll be a little better to race next to now.

Thanks to @Schmiggz tonight for the extensive help around the Trial Mountain track. And also to @serge19 for his comments. And I can't help but add in by thanking @FloydC3 one more time for taking the limited time he had today to help my consistency on SPA. !!!! I ran three races tonight in Friday night practice on SPA !!! and never went off the track once!!! And that damn track is hard to not spin on. (but I got 3 'out-of-bounds' penalties coming up that hill-- back to practicing tomorrow:scared:) Thanks @FloydC3

This might be my last weekend racing on Sunday nights with SNAIL. I have falling in love with iRacing completely I haven't touched my ps3 in 4 days now because of iRacing. I love racing with you guys on Sundays but if you ever driven iRacing you would be in the same boat as me right now.

To get PD to listen we need to start class action law suit like the customer did to EA SPORTS for not following thru on their words & commitment to their product. Until then PD will keep SCREWING us point blank. They knew the game was not finished & had known issues. What happen to a new track every month & GT vision car a month to me they fed us lies that we ate peacefully.

I have reviewed all incident reports for 23 March 2014.

Any other stewards get some time tonight or tomorrow, please have a look. Thank you.

At present, I am tracking the following laps and qual session times as follows;
  • Round 1 - 9 laps, 6 minute qual
  • Round 2 - 7 laps, 7 minute qual
  • Round 3 - 4 laps, 6 minute qual
If anyone has information to the contrary, please let me know.

For round 1, Honda @ Deep Forest, maybe 8 laps would be more prudent? If you run a 1:25 opening lap, then 7 laps of 1:20 that would put you at 10:45 for a finish time. 8 laps would be in the 12:05 range for the same pace.

Round 2 should be fine with 7 laps. If a 1:37 opening and 6 laps at 1:30 would be a 10:37 finishing time.
