Ryan,

I have checked the races and updated the Points. This does change the results for the West Coast Division. @zer05ive will need to update the results post but the spreadsheet is now correct.

1. CDNbossCDN 88pts
2. jpe13808 - 86 pts
3. DrWingPhd - 84 pts
4. tezgm99 79 pts
5. Neovre 61 pts
6. RinnFah 49 pts
7. Jobyone71 28 pts

Well done to @Ryan F / CDNbossCDN and @Travisorus /DrWingPHD on 1st and third on your first night racing with us.
Wow, it was some pretty good racing, had no idea I came first though. Thanks Jobyone, that makes all those practice laps worth while. I hope we can all have a safe first lap at Eiger this weekend.

Corinthians players paying homage to Senna last night.

Thanks for the camp K1utch! Much appreciated.... I just posted my fastest lobby time yet. Your advise was great!!

Sorry to everyone in the RED room if I messed you up at the start of Round 1, Race 1. I froze at the GT screen and had to shut down the PS3.

Mine was obviously bad also I came back and got disco'd again so I just called it a night

Wow tonight's practice was painful. Is there a division lower than 8, cause that's where I belong.
I think I finished last all but one race. Sorry to everyone if I got in your way or messed up your race.
Starting wonder if I'm good enough to compete in this league.

After an exceptionally grueling day at work, I got home so whipped that I wasn't sure if I was going to practice tonight. Man am I glad I did!! What an awesome night of racing! I had a most excellent time tonight... Thanks to everyone that raced the red room tonight. To add to that I am so freaking excited for the R.O.C. II tomorrow night! Lining up next to @Mirado_7 and @TEX36 is going to be pretty sweet!

@singlepaddy : Don't give up brother! There are many here that are more than willing to help get you up to speed. It may take awhile for you to find your stride but take it from me, speed will find you if you if you look hard enough. . I am just starting to find a little more rock and roll and it took over two years. I am here to tell ya that it was totally worth the wait! Along the way I have met a great deal of great people and have had a barn load of great races. Tomorrow is another day!! Hang in there buddy!

Thank you very much, @K1utch. Shaved a few seconds off my time and the went for a spin at La Sarthe and the results were also better than before.
I'm game for more whenever you are able.

And the last lap I watched of yours, @Major, the performance was unbelievable. Congratulations!

Don't get discouraged, man.
I've been chasing you around our races and if you need to be sent down to Div9, then I'm screwed...
Stick around and it will get back to you soon.

Keep with it!
You'll get there, it takes a lot of seat time.

Was reading the thread before heading off to work this morning.
Just want to say thanks for the kind words from you guys.
Was pretty discouraged last night.
Problem is between Family, friends and work it's hard to find the time to get better at it. I'm sure a lot of you can relate.
I have no illusions of granduer... Just want to have fun, be competitive and not be a hazard on the track.
I'll keep plugging away for a while, hopefully it will get better.

Thanks, cheers everyone!!!

Well I had a good time driving with you guys. I decided to switch from the paddle shifter to the stick shifter on my G27. Man, does that add a whole other level of fun / challenge. But to be honest I am liking it so far because I feel I have more control on the gear I am in. I imagine I will stick with the paddle shifter if the car has a high gear ratio, or if the animation in the cockpit shows the driver's hands using the paddles.

My one issue with the stick shifter is that the unit kept popping off the table it is attached to, which led to some hilariously awful accidents with massive amounts of carnage...

I kind of wish there was a driver's course in this group. One night a week where the weaker, less experienced drivers, could come together with a very experienced, patient, driver to walk us through the racecraft theory.

I like the videos I have seen on Youtube and the guys in the practice rooms are great, but I just like structured learning...

You should check out @K1utch in his race camp. That sounds like axactly what you are looking for.

I know how you feel about not having the time to practice and improve. During the so get I have plenty if time. From now until the fall I will be able to practice sparadicaly at best.

I attended Kamp K1utch for the first time last night I have to say it was well worth the investing the 2 hours. Included in the 2 hours is 1:1 instructions from @K1utch. Will attend his next camp for sure.

I think that's an excellent idea. But of course the challenge is getting somebody who is willing to invest that time, when they may be focused on their own development. A perfect example was when I went into the red room last night - some of you guys seemed impressed that I could do 1:20.xxx at Eiger. That was flattering and all, but I went to the blue room (with 90% aliens last night!) and everyone there was doing 1:18's or quicker. I was probably learning more by watching those guys than I would be just running at the front in the red room (although it certainly feels better than running alone in the back.

I'm only D4, but I think it would be lots of fun to run with "slower" guys and just have discussions about what works and what doesn't in certain corners.

Now if you're wanting racecraft tips, I think a more suitable format would be to run a few very short races (2-3 laps), save and review the replays, and then discuss any incidents/almost incidents. Really you could do that with Sunday nights though...or Thursdays. If they didn't run so late. Isn't that kinda what the yellow room is doing now?

Were you wanting speed or racecraft? I know both is ideal, lol.

To be honest, I would like to improve Race Craft and Speed. I tend to think that one would follow the other, in time. I pm'd K1utch, so I will wait and see. Either way I am having fun with this group, and being at the bottom, I have only up to go!

Actually, it's been my experience that they are somewhat separate. I've seen lighting quick guys that have no qualms leaning on you in a corner, closing in on an apex when you have a right to be there, or not leaving space for you on the outside. I've also seen (and race with frequently because of this league) guys that are slower than me, but that handle all of the above situations correctly and almost never initiate contact. What happens is the first guy can initially get up to the top divisions, then gets enough incidents filed against him to get kicked out. But while the respectful guys develop friendships, and i think that is helpful in some ways, it doesn't directly make them faster. You get faster on a lap basis mostly by learning the lines and executing. You do have to integrate the two together for wheel to wheel racing to do well though. Racecraft helps your points on race night, but not your qualifying (which i would consider your "speed"). Just my 2 cents.
