Welcome.

Keep in mind, if you chose to use any of those tuned cars, you'll have to take everything you added to them off and reset the rest to defaults to get in the No Tuning Allowed rooms SNAIL runs. There are some tuning adds you can't take off either. Be prepared to buy some duplicate cars.

I thought you could remove everything now, except for GT Auto parts (which have to be removed in the GT Auto menu)

That may be true. I only have a few tuned cars and not strapped for in game credits so, if we get a car picked I have in tuned spec, I don't bother taking everything off, I just go buy another.

@GamingPete I won't be taking any pics since Wolfs got some up earlier.

thanks for the heads up ... ive already had them finished with wolfs pics
but i didnt put them out because i might have used one of yours aswell..

I think what you described explains it all. Don't like the fact that controller users do have a control advantage. I watch a lot of repays and you can pick out the controller users easy. Their cars just don't seem as stable, especially in corners, but they still carry the the speed with dubious looking control. Ok, done whining.

Like many, I've used both a wheel and a controller and I can say for certain the controller users do not have an overall control advantage. It's true what jlbowler says in that there are assists built in to the device and in can help in certain circumstances but, despite that, a controller will never give you the same level of control and precision that a wheel does. Also, there are very real disadvantages using the controller such as enhanced understeer which prevent you from going flat through corners where wheel users have no problem doing so.

For various reasons I currently use a controller and while I've become reasonably proficient with it I would much prefer to be using my old G25. Just look at the global leaderboards for GT Academy or the seasonal events and see how rare it is for controller users to appear there. There's a reason for that.

I used to hate monza but this car feels great on this track. The 205 has an oversteer problem, fudge that car.
i prefer the 80's layout of monza feels more technical to my untrained senses! And over steer is an understatement! that car is so front end heavy you could take the back tires off and you wouldn't notice a difference.

I was watching you all race last nite looks fun , I would like to race too . Is it alright to watch or am I in the way . I tried to stay out of full rooms . If I join I want to do it right . THANKS

hey.. no issues with watching.. but it is a lot more fun to get in and race!

That fudge car is one of the funnest combos we've had for a while.. Just learn how to drive that car properly. Avoid breaking as much as possible.

Just in case you decide to join our band of merry men (and a few women)...

I did the test and turned in my time , I watched the videos , Just wanted to watch to get procedures right , yellow flag reverse field what not , not just spare tire ya -know

I think you're referring to me; I said it on my Mic when we were testing the other night, but I don't think you heard me, and Conner just backed up what I found - if you shift at 6500 rpm the car moves a lot faster than waiting for redline...
Yep I was referring to you :) I guess the mic was cutting out or something, good to know about the lower RPM shifting. At the start I was stunned at how you were basically bump drafting me by the time we got to 2nd gear, I was like "something's definitely wrong". And then the straights, I'd be on your bumper at the beginning of the straight basically at the same speed but then you'd just pull away even though I had the draft. Crazy

I wish GT6 had the performance testing option like GT5 did... easier to figure out optimum shift points

I thoroughly enjoyed the passionate discussion about lap times yesterday. Now I have a request.

Please read carefully:

1. If you finished Monza in less than 10 minutes please REPLY to this post and tell us us about it.

2. If you finished Monza in more than 10 minutes then LIKE this post. Don't tell me "almost", "I was bumped off" or "held up" . I don't want to hear it. Just press LIKE and move on

I am only interested in your finish time, not your fastest lap times.

As I said in an earlier post, on Wednesday night I won a race in a total time of 9:57. It was only the second race I had run with the combo but I was on pole and led from start to finish (so no draft). Earlier today I ran a 5 lap practice race on my own (online and clean) in a total time of 9:53. A couple of the laps were a little messy at that so a quicker time is very attainable.

@Rednose58

I agree with Heat above and with this:

The target should be 10:30 for the winning time. That leaves 90 seconds of countdown time to be finished at 12 minutes. When you run a 12 minute race and you have 90 seconds of finish time, you're at 13:30 all of a sudden and using up half of those 3 minutes in between races.

Remember, the race isn't over until everyone has finished or the countdown is over.

maybe only the first 2 or 3 cars will finish under 10 minutes, but not the whole grid.

In practice last night we had maybe the first 4-5 cars finishing under 10 min, and even then, it wasn't even under 9:50. I think they were all D1-D2 folk as well. Adding a lap will have 80% of us coming in at over 12 min.

The '71 Chevrolet Corvette has always been a looker. But its performance by today's standards is nothing short of geriatric. The new C7 ‘Vette, however, is a proper performance car that can show cars several times its price a clean pair of radials. NASCAR champ Jimmie Johnson has sensibly combined the two to create this special C3. ah hmm PD can we have this please!

He now has reaffirmed his respect for those who don't cause IRs . That would be the vast majority of SNAILS.

Those that don't cause IR's are great people as far as I'm concerned. Those that don't file IR's for what they see and then complain about it are not so great.

On another, more official, note. Drivers who have submitted a time trial were going to get their placement messages today. Google has decided that it's not going to work properly right now and I don't have the time to sit around and make it work or find a work around right now (contrary to popular belief, I do have a life away from SNAIL) like I did the other day for the contest sheet. Placement messages will be going out tomorrow morning if I can get Google to cooperate. Sorry for the delay but at least now you know it's not me dragging my feet.
