1. Some folks just have to make bigger sacrifices to have fun. Believe me, I'd much prefer to start an hour earlier but if you want play, you gotta pay.

2. His "argument" is quite valid. Who's to say what time is or is not to late for somebody. There's been A LOT of this "my opinion is the right opinion" mindset going around lately in here. Kinda getting old. We're all a bit different and have our own ideals.

Sinna (@STEAMER62) also races in the middle of the night. Some people are that dedicated to joining all of these fine gents on the racetrack. Race night usually ends between 0130 and 0330 for me (depending on daylight savings), but it's worth it, because it's hard to find good racing online, where people follow rules, race hard but fair, etc.

It amazes me that people are able to that. I am one to admit that I'm weak and would not race at 2:30am. I always have work on Mondays so I can't be out/up too late or I know I'll feel it the next day.
Dear @DesertPenguin09 , do you know what passion is? I myself as also other guys over the pond ( @turnupdaheat , @Engmatic1, and sorry for the guys which names I can't post now) enjoy racing and it is only a personal choice, for example I take a nap before racing and get up at 2AM GMT, eat my banana, drink a bucket of coffee and enjoy my racing night with my D8 fellows and have fun, take a shower and go to work, ahh, I enjoy it, it's my choice man :gtpflag:

Ya we have a bunch of people that are outside of North America. Check out the member map in my sig and you'll see!

Race times are tough to balance. I'd love to race in the Race Car Series or Touring Car Series, but being on the west coast, they start too early for me. The time works for enough people to consistently have a full series, so keep it going!

.

Breakfast of champions. Includes all your essential nutrients including tire smoke, dented fenders, race fuel, and sweaty race suits!

Why not start a west coast TCS falango we seem to be split up pretty good east coast VS west coast. Then there's the CT people that can float between both depending on their schedules and do a points system combining both series for a championship?

hahaha, S0 true jam master sinna(Steamer62)Ii for one I am a bit luckier than you my friend. My schedule changes and atm it suits me but I can't be up every night of the week hence why I haven't joined any other race classes in SNAIL, such as the mid week events for race car lovers as myself . Different strokes for different folks, Personally I'd rather be up till 230 am and have a great night of racing with great bunch of guys than to do what I have done in the past , which involved jumping from room to room looking for a room that i could enjoy competing in and end up wasting most of the night frustrated
And oh I am sure my dedication has paid of for me since I will soon be upgrading my low cost 'sofa in the front room, wait till wife and kids are off the tv before i can even think about racing'' set up to a brand spanking new Granstand. What more can I say. It's certainly worth it to me.

I love how I post my own thoughts, even saying that I know others race later at night than me, and people continue to post like they're bragging about their passion. :gtplanet:

Hey matic is that a bungee around the clutch to hold down the pedals ?How cool is that now you have a stand cant wait to see the improvement with a good stand . Cant laugh to much my stand is a old abb roller turned upside down ha ha ,:lol:

That's the most obscure wheel stand I've heard of so far!

Yes it is a bungee but use it mainly for the breaks . Lol I know what you mean. I started with the bedside cabinet and took all the drawers out then took this coffee table of mother in law and it has served and continues to serve me well .

Pfffrrrrt (*edit - lol, this was in my 'draft' haha)

My first rig was a frankenstein's monster cobbled together from an excersize bike, office chair, and folding table with chopped legs...

Maybe 'my first rig' is a good tbt for tomorrow... Will have to find a pic...

My current stand is a bit strange too, but works very well. It's an old roommates shelf that has 2 metal brackets to hold it up, which are bolted to two aluminum upside down T frames. It's sturdy enough and has worked great for 2 years now.

Pfffrrrrt

First rig sounds like a good topic!

The bungie cord is what makes it really awesome! I am still rocking a folding table and folding chair...any steering correction means the entire table moves 6 inches or so and i have to race the rest of the race with my table turned.

My first rig is my current rig. I have a DFGT clamped on a plastic craft table weighted down with 2 , 25 pound weights to keep the table secure to the floor. And sit in a beanbag chair on top of a futon...
Show Tom and I'll post mine too :D , remember there was a posting session not so long ago of RIGs

Anyway, this is the way I'm racing guys, the guy on the wheel is my friend MistaMagista84 , and to figure it out, the GTDF was a gift as the table, the only expensive ones were the PVC glasses (€5) as the sponges underneath of it (50 ct) and believe me , so much fun with this Mc Gyver stuff
