Enjoyed my into to S.N.A.I.L. and Div 4 racing last night. Looking forward to future events and the improvement that preparing / racing will provide. Thanks again for all your work in setting up the League.

Good stuff TEX36, glad you enjoyed it.

Prep and competing will help a lot 👍

One other thing to look at, is other drivers, I do this as much as I can. If someone is faster than me (not a stretch by a long shot), I try to figure out how and why :) The replays are super valuable.

Thanks, kcheeb - I'll study the videos more closely each week (lines, braking and acceleration). Being an "old dog" I have a lot to learn, technically as in the "How To" dept. Have had a lot of help from chatva and bloodredsky in GT5 - very patient Professors of Speed and Control.
Appreciate your encouragements, too.

Well great, now I don't get any prize, thanks to all the issues for the last race. Just curious, how many points would I have had if I had gotten points for last place in the last race?

Also, just a reminder that I never got Prize C from last week (Level 24 Ticket).

If ppl keep complaining about me when there a lot slower I might just have to leave this leauge didn't have no problem in d2 now that I'm in d3 seems like everyone's just picking on me .....

Your constant complaints about the division that you are in don't help your situation, dgaf. You have been found guilty of several incidents and accused of another this week. Furthermore, your antics have driven at least one person to leave the league, which is completely unacceptable.

It does not matter how fast or slow your competition is, you still have to drive cleanly. It would be assumed by many that your current six week suspension and 40 points of penalties last week might have driven that point home, but apparently not. If you are so much faster than everyone around you than you could easily wait for an open chance to pass without undue contact, apparently you're not doing that.

Perhaps your driving style is more suited to the open lobby.

Had a blast last night! I've been playing GT5 for ever but I've avoided the online stuff because it's so hard to find clean racing! Glad to be able to race against fellow humans instead of AI or the clock! I'll probably be driving in some of the weeknight races too when I can also. I love what you guys have set up here!

Hey, Spider. Considering you are new at online racing you did a great job of driving cleanly and quickly. A little more practice against we humans and I'll bet you'll be a D1 candidate.

…just gotta stay off of that "Start Race" button. ;)

Sorry I missed out last night. It had to do with my router swap. I don't get it. I had a smc router from my cable provider. Now sharing bill with neighbor, so decided to use her router since it has better range. Everything is fine, seasonals, search rooms, get into snail, see everyone, but....BOOT! When trying to join a random room, the message said incompatible with hosts network bla bla. So, checked the router settings through 192.168.... And I can't see why. So, plugged old router in this am and wala!!! Anyone with IT experience that could explain what I should do or resource I can read. I know I can google, but lately my googles have turned into giant time wasters. Lol. Anyway, sorry I missed last night. I tried 6 or 7 times. Always booted me about when I'd try to get on track. Mmmmmm

See you all.

So, you're on wireless? Does the other router have the correct ports open? Here's a list of the ports. Also, what is "wala", the FOX affiliate from Mobile, AL?

Edit: So this Turtle 🤬 is still around? Can we not do anything to point out their hackery? Maybe get the rest of their racers to join SPEC?

Sorry, but we waited as long as possible for you. In fact, we waited too long considering that we finished more than twenty minutes behind schedule. When we saw you get disconnected (again), then rejoin (again), only to see you get disconnected (again) that's when we finally decided to start that last race without you. :guilty:

Okay, sorry about that. I'll send it tonight. 👍

K, bye.

didn't have no problem in d2 now that I'm in d3 seems like everyone's just picking on me .....

I can assure you nobody is picking on you. Perhaps you should watch the video that I highlighted in the original post. Since you seem pretty impatient, I'll save you some time by telling you to skip ahead to 1:20 of the video.

It's no accident that I put that video in the original post. In fact, here's that section in its entirety, with a small note added just for you:

Rules
Although we're a beginner-friendly league, we expect all drivers to follow GTP OLR Rules and pursue good racecraft at all times. If you're not sure what racecraft is, watch this video for an explanation. It can be summed up in one simple 'Golden Rule' of motorsports: It is the responsibility of the overtaking driver, meaning the car that is attempting to execute the pass, to make sure that the pass is made cleanly and incident free. If you don't agree with this rule or don't think it applies to you (even when you think you're faster than the car you're trying to pass), then this is not the league for you. If you ever feel like a fellow driver in this league is not following the rules, please submit a complaint to our stewards. They will review the incident and use our penalty system to see if there is a penalty warranted.

You need to read the rules like the REST OF US & then maybe you'll understand that you cant run through people. It gets old when everybody is being respectful & you dg are not.

I've read threw the rules I didnt hit him on purpose he got on his breaks so I'd hit him I guess he was trying to mess me up I'd even be on the side of him passing on straight. The. He'd jump over I to my lane :(

Haha! Yeah, i actually laughed pretty hard at myself when I was like "sorry guys, that won't happen again." and then I did it again.

... He hit his brakes... So you would hit him....

Just, wow, man, that is epic.

Wow.

@dgaf I've raced with you before and had issues. You simply are unable to drive clean and be competitive at the same time. People aren't trying to mess you up and instead you should own up to your mistakes and learn from them. You are decently quick but if you could keep your bumpers to yourself it would be good racing with you. Just learn to back off a little and be patient, it makes it a hell of a lot more fun for everyone.

You don't get it, man. You've been on probation for the last 2 weeks and it didn't change anything. You'll be on probation for another 6 if you're allowed to continue to race in S.N.A.I.L.

Yes I do get it apm it's just for every lil incident I get written up for
Nexts races can hopefully say there will be no more complaints

No, clearly you don't. As has been said before, you may think that you are faster than everyone, but if you cannot pass other drivers without making any (zero, none, not any) contact with other drivers, this is not the league for you.

Furthermore, your statement that the Division that you are in has anything to do with the penalties against you is silly. Don't forget that one of your penalties came when you were in Division 2.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about how the room was run, but I am frustrated, and I think with good reason. I'm mostly frustrated with my internet connection but also with GT5's servers as they seemed to crap themselves in the last race for everyone, not just me.

I just think it's a little unfair that people can lose so many points for what really isn't their fault, and it affects certain people more than others, which really makes it unfair. I don't really see what you can do about it other than somehow fudge the points so when people get disconnected, they still get what they should have gotten. I don't really know how you would do that without being either really complicated or just somewhat unfair. I was thinking about some kind of average position when someone gets disconnected during a race, but that wouldn't really work.

I would still like to know what my points would have been if I had finished last in the last race. I don't really see what difference it makes whether I was on track or not as I was clearly ready to race. It's not as if I blew off the night, which is the only reason I can think of to not give any points for a race.
Okay, sorry about that. I'll send it tonight. 👍
Thanks! :)

Hi I'd like to join. My psn is hillracing.

Hey hillracing,

Glad you'd like to join :)

We don't have many vertical tracks in GT5 though  I tried

We run a clean league by enforcing the S.N.A.I.L. OLR and we expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both.

You'll be added to the drivers list as a New S.N.A.I.L. When you run the Time Trial and Private Message my GTPlanet account with your time, you'll be moved to the appropriate Division List. We do this to make sure everyone gets involved in some close, clean racing.

Shortly after that, a PSN friend request will be sent to you from the SNAIL_Division1, 2, 3 or 4 account for the Division you will be placed in. That lounge is where you will race on Sunday night.

The original post has a lot of information regarding the league, commit it to memory ;)

The second post has the current race lineup and is updated weekly.

If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, post your choices in this thread. To avoid duplication, the currently claimed combinations can be found here.

During the week we run a number of different events feel free to jump in and partake!

Welcome aboard and enjoy :)

I know it sucks, but there's really not a fair way that we can fairly give points to drivers who don't finish a race, for whatever reason. We need to make sure that we have good quality hosts and that those hosts are the ones who set up the room. If we could keep other drivers out of the room from 9:30-9:45 Eastern it would allow the hosts some time to get the rooms set up and ready to go. I jumped on at 9:30 last night and I don't think we had any disconnections in D1.
