Since you mentioned both the 100K milestone as well as Christmas in the same post, I'm going to go ahead and mention an idea that I've been pondering for a while. It just happens to combine both the 100K milestone and Christmas as well. This kind of flew by without mention, but this post by @o8_jedi was our 99,000th post. We are less than 1,000 away from the 100,000th post. Maybe @Dragonwhisky would have a more statistical method of predicting when this would happen, but if our last 1,000 posts are any indication (98k on Nov. 4th), we'll hit the big 100k around Christmas.
We all know that Christmas is a time of giving and 100K posts is kind of a big deal too. I'd like to see if we can combine the two occasions into something special for SNAIL. Wouldn't it be great if we could find some generous Snails to give a small Christmas gift to the guys who give so much of their time and effort into making SNAIL run the way that it does? My hope is that we can get $100 worth of gift cards to commemorate the 100K posts. 👍
Perhaps we could find ten Snails to offer a $10 each? Or perhaps five who are willing to put up $10 and two who would put up $25? It'd be great if we could drum up even more than $100, but I'm hoping we'll be able to get at least $100 total among all of us.
Once we have a list of those willing to give a gift card, we can start auctioning them off in the SNAIL Marketplace. That way, the Team SNAIL members who have been helping drive the SNAIL engine behind the scenes can bid their $hells on them based their preference of where each gift card is from.
Also, keep in mind that anyone who provides a gift card to be auctioned off will get all the $hells from the winning bid of that auction. They can then turn around and use those $hells on other things that might come up for auction.
So if you'd like to say "thanks" or "Merry Christmas" to those who spend their time helping SNAIL, please reply to this post or PM me with the amount of the gift card you'd like to offer for the cause.
