Merry Christmas Everyone.

I guess I better post my selection for next week races. I am choosing to say goodbye to the Audi TT. Not a bad car but I feel it was just a bit to slow and did not offer enough of a challenge at the Nurb GP/F track. So my choice is to go with an even lower PP car. But I do feel that my choice should be fun, challenging and promote some more good close racing.

1990 MAZDA RX-7 GT-X (FC) '90

I hope you like the choice.

Joby

Hi All, hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

I probably won't be able next Sunday's race(s,) but I think the late 80s/ early 90s Sonax Mercedes Touring Car is a great drive (sports mediums would be great for it IMO) and since we can't run it Hockenheim in GT5, I'll have to pick...Cape Ring North.

I'll take a few rips around the track tonight to make sure I haven't created a monstrosity lol.

Thanks All
Joey

There's a Super seven in the ocd this week.

I received my tshirt monday! Thanks a lot! Happy holidays everyone!

Okay, let's do the Caterham then. Happy holidays!

Thanks for making your Prize selections!

The December 30th lineup has been posted!!
:gtpflag:

P.S. Nic, thanks for letting us know you got your shirt! :)

Kids are having friends over, so the PS3 will either be running some shoot em up, or a Disney popstar singalong. Not sure which is worse...

Have fun at practice!

I'm not home for a few days. If someone on my friend list can send me the broken in Mazda by Friday night I can send a ticket of your choice. 1000, 21, 23, 24, 67, 70 plus many others.

Going to fire up the PS3 in a few to host D1/2/3 room...

Thanks Joe! Just PM the room number to me and I'll post it. Goat is standing by to send me the red room's number.

Have fun at practice everyone! I hauled butt to get back into town in time for practice, but now I have a massive headache and a house full of luggage/junk/gifts everywhere. Probably best if I sit out tonight. :(

The practice rooms are officially open! If you're assigned to Division 1 or Division 2 (or you placed in the top 5 of Division 3 on December 16th) please join the BLUE ROOM:

Everyone else, please join the RED ROOM:

Great racing in practice tonight 👍 I think I'm getting the hang of the wheel now. I'm good speed wise, but I need to work on my consistency a.k.a not spinning out :P

Quite possibly. We don't keep stats on that, but maybe we should? 💡

I'll try to put one together sometime today. 👍
Cool. If only I had my PS3 at work I could probably be having fun right now:) Or at least be importing data.

How was practice? Did people like the RX7?

Don't take it personally, but I like the car but not the combo, meaning the track is not a good one for a 'slow' car; I think this car would do much better like in Madrid / Reverse, Cape Ring Inside, or such tracks.

After the initial 2 laps, all the other laps seemed to be time trials as I did not have anyone close ahead or behind me.

The combo is an improvement on the Audi TT though, as it is trickier to drive around this track; but in my own 2 cents, a little under-power for Nürburgring GP/F.

BTW, it was nice being able to race against some of the faster guys that usually never get to race with. Sadly, still not able to keep pace with any of the faster guys at Suzuka.

Not sure what happened to my headset, that I could hear everyone talking on the last 2 races, but I did not have any engine sounds from the head set which proved impossible to drive the fire blade. I did not change any settings, it just happened when we switched to the last race; I was bummed as I was looking to racing with the fire blade. I like this car.

Thanks for the feedback. If I had been able to I would have replaced the track along with the car:sly: I will say that if your RX7 had been broken in I think we would have had some great close racing:)

Impatiently awaiting for Sunday's rematch! 👍 Will you be able to race Sunday?

Hey d5, what best laps were people running in practice last night?

I'm in D4 and ran:
2.33s at Nurb
2.20s at Suzuka
and 1.40 was my best lap at Cape Ring with no engine sound.

... I found out that I am losing a lot of time at the Spoon Curve & 1st Corner @ Suzuka; what is the best way to take a double apex curve?

...
Was this SNAIL in the making? LOL

Consider this my notification that I will not make the races this Sunday. I'll be celebrating the new year with family. See you all on the 6th!

This is a gt5 flaw, not your head set, just an fyi. It happens occasionally to me as well, and I've heard others complain of the same. It sure does make it hard to race.

That's weird. I've never heard of that before. Hope it doesn't happen to me…

I'm trying to recall the incidents that it did happen. But they were a while ago, and I'm lucky not to forget my name most days, it seems to me though that it mostly happened in public rooms. No specific track or car. Just that the sound was fine one race and gone the next. They could hear the other cars engines, but not their own.
