I know that the Audi TT/GP-F is becoming the '90 RX-7/GP-F.

The CRZ-TC/Suzuki stays.

Have we heard JoeyFast's choice on replacing the Cobra/Trial Mountain yet (since it is Wednesday...)?

I don't believe so and I'll send him a pm and see if we can get a new combo up asap!

EDIT: Should be posted shortly, JoeyFast is just doing some quick tests and will post soon.

Hi All, hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

I probably won't be able next Sunday's race(s,) but I think the late 80s/ early 90s Sonax Mercedes Touring Car is a great drive (sports mediums would be great for it IMO) and since we can't run it Hockenheim in GT5, I'll have to pick...Cape Ring North.

I'll take a few rips around the track tonight to make sure I haven't created a monstrosity lol.

Thanks All
Joey

I hate to say it but I don't think you can choose that car. I don't see it in the OCD. That's a bummer because it did sound like fun to drive.

It also can't be painted nor can the wheels be changed.

Crap. Okay, is there a list of "usable" cars I can flip through real quick? The Mugen Motul civic is pretty sweet too, handles great for a fwd.

I can't really think of anything else off the top of my head other than the Trans Cammer or a Cup Car. Hmm...untuned 88s!?:dunce:

For the next week or two, you will be a bit slower and extremely inconsistent. After about two weeks, sometimes less, you will be right up with your DS3 average times and never want to go back! Resist the urge to win easily with the DS3 in these next two weeks. You will thank yourself later.
I'm definitely never going back to the DS3. I'm having a blast with the wheel so far, even if I am slower and very inconsistent with it. Luckily I have plently of time to play with it right now so I should be getting better at it every day :)

So...

'90 Mazda RX-7 at Nord GP-F (new car to break in from regular dealer) -Sports Hard (4-5 laps est)
213 hp/413 pp

Honda CR-Z TC at Suzuka, Racing Hard (4 laps)
206 hp/464 pp

Caterham at Cape Ring North (Sport Soft?), laps TBD
165 hp/567 pp
at the Online "Buy, change the oil, and Drive!" OCD Event.

I will see if I can wiggle into D1 for some Caterham laps... :sly:

Sounds like a plan. Now that I think about it, all these cars have unique engines; A rotary, a hybrid, and a motorcycle engine.

Luckily we have the big tent sale at the OCD. "Repo? Bankruptcy? It doesn't matter 'cause here at OCD, you're approved! Now selling cars at 50% off! Look for the wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man!"

I knew being a salesman was genetic.

Combined HP = 584. Is that a record low?

Also was there a results post for the Anniversary event? Would love to see haw D3 did against D2 and D5 vs D4;)

I'd like to join some of these events. Please add me. Any of you ever race with the Tunas or the TPRA?

Hi MX5Racer69,
Thanks for your interest. Here's what you need to know and do in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You run the Time Trial. (NOTE: The tires selected for this have more grip than our current tire regulations allow, but please follow the directions exactly anyways).
2. You PM me with your time from the time trial (no Sunday racing until this is completed).
3. I assign you to the division that I fell will give you the closest competition.
4. I send you a you a PSN friend request from the corresponding SNAIL_Division1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 account. That PSN account's lounge is where you will race on Sunday night.
6. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

The original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

Please note that we often race DLC from three add-on packs:

Racing Car Pack
Course Pack
Twin Ring Motegi Pack

If you don't have these add-on packs, you will need to sit out the races in which they are used.

If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, post your choices in this thread.
To avoid duplication, the currently claimed combinations can be found here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.

Welcome to S.N.A.I.L.

Ran the Caterham @ Grand Valley Endurance. WHAT A BLAST!!! Ran like a SNAIL race!!! The tranny is so TAAALLLLL.. LOL. Fun car!!

I have no idea why they put such tall transmissions in those motorcycle-engined cars. I suppose it's so that you can cruise at highway speeds without a deafening scream coming from under the hood.

Seems like just lengthening the top gear would be enough for that, though…

I am also not convinced that PD got that car right. It seems to take way to long to rev even when in neutral. It seems to behave like a car engine when it revs not like the bike engine it is. I hope it is fun to drive in Stock form on the track. I know it is so much better with a close ratio gearbox:(

I real life it does 0-60 in around 3 seconds. In game I do not think it does it in 6:(

A few of us were running in D1 lounge, looks like 1:30-33 for fast laps, so probably 7 laps.

Yes, the initial acceleration is pathetically disappointing from what I expected, but quite a fun combination.

Is this the Official Lineup for Sunday night 12/30?

Don't want to get set up on the wrong combinations.

Those are about the gears on a modern sportbike, actually. 1st revs out to about 70, 2nd 100, and so forth.

I hate driving the car in stock form since you only get to use the 3 "low" gears, which aint right, lol. At least we can actually use first in plenty of corners :sly:
