I'll be holding a practice / tutoring sessions tonight if anyone is interested. If not, I'll just practice and refine my race lines

I'll be hanging out in the D1 lounge later tonight to see if I can pick up on any tips/lessons that are made available. I'm not sure what I'm running at DFR, but I know it's a lot better than what I'm running at Cape Ring.. I don't think I've even completed a lap there without going off track at least once.. :yuck:

FYI, I'll probably be afk for the majority of the night, so if you say anything to me and I don't respond, you'll know why. :)

Diabolic's car finally showed up in the UCD for me....checking if the Cyborg is any good for Bowler's enduro idea at Cape Ring Inside :sly:

edit: dang it, it ain't as good as a couple others I tried earlier :grumpy:

It's nice to know that my advise is being hear. Have you been practicing, like I asked you to do?

Have you noticed my times are continuing to drop? :)

The NSX is even getting better(ish); I'm using some of what you taught about the lines to realize where I'm braking inefficiently - about a 5 sec improvement.

I'll still be DFL on that combo, I think, but the S2000 should be a notable improvement.

Thank you again!

I am also really glad to see how much the league has expanded since starting way back in December. Going from just a few of us the first night, to now being an ever increasingly larger group with three divisions racing every Sunday night. I have come across many great racers and have had many battles over these past 10 nights of racing. I really wish my schedule would allow me to race during the week, but only Sunday, and hopefully Saturday starting this weekend.

Well you've helped make our growth possible! There's no way we could have kept expanding if our members weren't consistent about racing with us every Sunday night. Most of us have been consistent overall, but you've taken it to a whole different level.. Keep it up! 👍

I also have a suggestion that I've been thinking about, but haven't brought up until now. Perhaps when choosing cars for future races, some thought might be given to the standard cars available in the Online dealership(that way everyone would be able to purchase them).

I like that idea as long we're sure the Online Dealership won't refresh during the week leading up to the race. I think the best way to ensure that is to only open the Online Dealership for our Prize A and Prize B selections if the cars have only recently been added. For example, the cars currently in there are at least a week old so they won't be available for selection after this week's races.

In closing, I would like to once again thank Zer05ive and all of the fellow S.N.A.I.L.s I have met and been able to race with these past weeks. I am certainly looking forward to racing with this league as long as I possibly can through the life of GT5, and into the future with GT6(assuming that we will someday make the transition, though I would imagine that will be quite a few years until that happens:)) I would also like to extend my services for any help that is needed in which ever division I may be racing in each week. I may not be able to do a whole lot before the start of the races on Sunday, but I will help as much as needed during the races, and I will stay up and help if anything is needed after the races. I will be looking at purchasing a headset to better communicate on race nights. Once again thanks everyone for making this such a great experience!

If you don't mind, I'd like to take you up on your offer to stay up and help after the races.. :D

I noticed the link to your gallery in your sig and the pics look great! Would you be willing to be an official league photographer and post a few pics on our thread after the races? If we can find at least one photographer in each division, it'd be possible for all of our members to get a taste of the action from across the entire league and not just in their own division! Whatcha think?

Zer05ive, you really surprised me with the $10 PSN Card, when you said about giving me something Sunday night I was honestly thinking it would just be another car for my massive garage. Hopefully we'll get some more dlc soon to put the money towards! Thank you so much!

Yeah I figured you wouldn't be expecting that lol. I'm glad I was able to surprise you with it! :sly:

I just sent you a PM with the PSN Card number so that you can redeem it for your $10 prize. Enjoy!

Practice / Class is now in session.

Location: SNAIL_DISVISON1 Lounge

IF my wife and friends tire of her movie night, I'll be there... (gulp)...

But briefly - we have Boy Scouts at OMG-early tomorrow - get a 12 year old up for a 7 am report? ouch...

On the flipside - I must HAPPILY report that I cannot run any tomorrow eve. My wonderful wife has finagled tix to the local "Mythbusters... Live!" show.

Even, better... and my son is going to be apoplectic... we 'won' a backstage pass to meet the cast as well.

I'm betting that Jamie is gonna envy ME, a lil' bit... =};-{D#

Guessin' some of y'all can guess what the 'handlebar' is from...

I'm going to do some testing in the Div 3 lounge for Bowler's proposed idea; so Grand Valley with FR, 276hp and 1300kg :)

A pun. clever human. This is one of my all time favorites. "010001 1001 001 111 0101010011 010" Sometimes you have to read it twice to get it.

Its intermission at the final fantasy show. EPIC! Along with the show they have a movie screen showing cuts from what happens in the game when each piece is heard.

Thanks, this league means a lot to me and I really enjoy racing with you guys. The only other league I participated in before this was a DTM league, and that was only as the pace car. That lasted only for the first season, then I just couldn't commit as much as I had hoped. Between then and now I spend most of my time online lapping the 'Ring and other tracks, but racing had almost stopped until I found this league.

That would be the best way to go, this week coming up they should change it so next week after the races(April 1st no less), then we could perhaps experiment with this depending on how the prize A and B winners feel about including cars from the Online Dealer.

If you don't mind, I'd like to take you up on your offer to stay up and help after the races.. :D
Just let me know what you need. It might be a while till I can get a headset, but I might ear piece my brother has, it shouldn't bother me if I use it for a little while.

Thanks for the compliments on the pictures. They've all been edited slightly in a free program called GIMP. I'm not an expert on photos, but I try my best to get them to look realistic. I actually had thought about putting some pictures up before, then kinda forgot about it and never got around to do it. I probably would be able to get pictures up within a day or two after the races. I always save the replays so it shouldn't be a problem to get a few good shots from each race.

Yeah I figured you wouldn't be expecting that lol. I'm glad I was able to surprise you with it! :sly:

PM received and responded to. Once again thank you!
P.S.: I'm also thinking of it as a slightly late birthday present, being last Saturday was my birthday, and out of all the friends I had over on my birthday this beats everything they got me(which was a whole lot of nothing and some homemade cookies) except for one. That would be going to see Roger Waters in Philly on July 14th. Seeing that is a once in a lifetime opportunity, not much can really beat that. Also that is on a Saturday night, so it shouldn't interfere with my attendance that Sunday.:)

Wife is fully engaged in viewing/gab-fest.

In light of her benevolent gifting, and allowi... not minding if I race on Sunday, I shall not be seen on Friday.

G'Day!

Now THAT was an epic session tonight, big props to Devious for hosting and all who joined in :D

You are welcome. I'm glad I was able to help 5 or 6 of your members shave off a few more seconds from they're lap times.

I had fun tonight, thanks. We need to do more driving on the NEMESIS Track, that was AWESOME!!!

Hmmm.

Last night's race session: 6 hours

Last night's sleep session: 4 hours

Perfect.

Thanks so much to Sharkie for the tips last night. I had a great time grinding out the laps and lots of fun in the runs and drifts afterward. Now I just hope that nerves don't get the better of me Sunday.

I had a great time practicing with everyone last night. Zer0 with a 3:01at Cape Ring, thats excellent. Everyone that was in the room had improved times. My buddy Vail with a 3:00, damn man! 👍. I could of done better than a 3:02 but with more practice, I'll get there. I think is safe to say that its Maddy's doing and I/we thank you :).You may have opened up a can of worms. You taking your time to go through the track with each of us is so unselfish.
If anyone wants to improve their times on any track and she opens a room for schooling, take her up on it. Believe me,she knows what she's doing and talking about. Maddy's an awesome racer.

Here's what happens when you run enough laps with another guy. . . you really get in sync. I'm in the green car and Zer0's in the white.

Getting into the grass here is never a good idea:

Of course, if the guy following you does it as well, things might turn out okay:

The nearly inevitable result of pushing it just a tad too hard:

Synced up nicely:

Off the wall and facing backwards:

Bring it back around, now. Hmm.... maybe I should watch where I'm heading:

Better than dual drifting:

Wait a minute. . . was that just a clever ploy for a pass?:

Wow. Thank you Tom. That is quite the testimonial. I'm flattered and a little surprised to see you say that. Someone is going to think I paid you to say that or something. LOL

I'm happy that everyone was able to improve last their times last night, and had fun doing it. I tried to work with everyone in a 1-on-1 manner and give them the info that they needed, it took a little longer. This is how I'm going to do the tutoring sessions, from now on. I think the results speak of the sector time as the lap times of the races we did shows that everyone how took the class last night are all running Division 1 times.
Great work everybody! 👍👍

Now it's up to all of you to practice what you learned and put in the "Seat Time" so that information isn't lost.

I will be holding a public practice / tutoring session again today for anyone who wants it. I'm also willing to host a private tutoring sessions for those who want my complete undivided attention - Just send me a PM to work out details.

Shhhh! You weren't supposed to say anything about the money exchanged. LOL!!!
Let the truth set you free! I call it as I see it! I will take you up on any tutoring you have to give!. You are correct in saying that seat time and practice what we have learned from you has to happen otherwise you're tutoring will go all for naught. With your tutoring I will be in D1 sooner than I thought. Thanks again Maddy.

Wow what a night! Fantastic driving and lap times by Zero:tup:, Tcrash:tup:, Tez:tup: and Dock:tup:! I had a blast!
I f not for Maddie I don't believe we would be driving at level we are now. For those of you who have not had a chance to attend one of Miss D's one on one classes, I strongly suggest you do! ( for selfish reasons that was hard to say LOL!) I know I can speak for all of us by saying,Thank you Maddie for taking us to the next level!!!!!

Nice pics! ^This one is my favorite.. we were taking tandem drifting to another level!!

Can you a post a few more pics after Sunday night's races? :D

Nice pics!

Can you a post a few more pics after Sunday night's races? :D

Thanks!

Sure, I can help out. I'm no wizard with photo mode but I've spent a bit of time there. Capturing an actual race instead of an "incident" might allow me a bit more creativity, too.

I'm normally up for about an hour after the scheduled race time, so if you need any other help right after the races let me know. I'll probably come lurk in whatever lobby you're in, anyway to try to get an early report.

I can help you with Depp Forest Reverse. A 1:28 is respectable, but we'll see if we can get you down to 1:27's.

Could you ever! I just ran a few laps and posted a 1:26.800 on my first timed lap.

I'm just glad to see that I haven't forgotten everything overnight.

I shall stick with the DS3 for the racing tomorrow. Then attempt to use the DFGT next week in the hope to be ready....yes, I can play next Sunday as well :D

After Wednesday, I thought maybe I could finish midpack on Sunday. But after last night... dashed. Hopes are dashed, I tell ya'.

Dock, those pics are hilarious. I laughed out loud. Brilliant! I think if you play with the shutter speed, you can give them just a touch of blur so they look like they are in motion, and not just parked that way.

Just figured out why my s2000 wasn't doing so well at deep forest. I was using sports medium tires. Switched over and I think I will be competitive on Sunday.

Now I need to focus on cape ring.
