Well joe, I say, don't hold your breath. I don't foresee gt6 on the ps4. I'll get one, probably when they release the second generation. Gt7 might be ready by then. for now, I'll get a couple more ps3, some screens and triple up on gt6. I must say, the ps4 is far more impressive then the xbox. Sony even had fun on xbox and some of the "features" they are forcing on players. Like authenticating every 24 hours or the system locks, and you can't play games unless you're online. This is really going to hurt the xbox I think. One thing I dont like. With the ps4, you will have to have a psn+ account to play multilayer games.
Oh, and no, no backwards compatibility.

So far I have the top time and am back in line to go again. Might have to make the call to my boss I've been dreading all week. Guess we'll see.

It seems really idiotic that the PS4 will probably release just before, or at the same time as GT6, and Sony's top of the line brand spanking new racing sim won't be available for it.

Oh wow. One of my favorite movies. I swear when I read that quote I actually heard the dude saying that to the lead investigator. And it wasn't a cop movie. Just a scene with cops in it.

I would expect PD to roll out GT7 in about 18 months or less after the PS4 gets a good install base.

We'll see. They may port GT6 to it.

The short answer is that GT6 has likely been in development since long before the PS4's hardware was finalized or probably even proposed. They are completely different platforms as well; the PS3's cell processor is fundamentally different compared to the PS4's x86-64 processor. Even if they wanted to make GT6 for the PS4, it would require a complete rebuild of at least the base code of the game, if not everything. The transition from XBox 360 to Xbox1 is not too great; both systems are x86 based. The transition from PS3 to PS4 is going to be more like the jump between PowerPC and x86 for Macs.

Thanks for your interest! We would love to have you in the series. Here's what you need to know and do in order to join:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the S.N.A.I.L. OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide.
Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You run the Time Trial. (NOTE: The tires selected for this have more grip than our current tire regulations allow, but please follow the directions exactly anyways).
2. You PM kcheeb with your time from the time trial (no Sunday racing until this is completed).
3. We assign you to the division that we feel will give you the closest competition.
4. We send you a you a PSN friend request from the corresponding SNAIL_Division1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 account. That PSN account's lounge is where you will race on Sunday night.
5. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍
