@Handlebar It really depends on what your price point is. We use alot of Mx-5 miata's in HPDE, but we do also have some higher power cars that handle just as well. For the money a M3 is hard to beat. They are on the same price point as some of the older 350z's but in my opinion I think they are a more well rounded car than the Z. My choice would be a M3.

Also gonna open a practice room if anyone want to join.

@ExoSphere64 I have no problems helping taking care of open duties in D1

Important
I will be sending everyone in Division 1 a friends request.
Hopefully they all get accepted as soon as possible so we can run in a friends only room tonight.

Opening a practice lobby in about 5 minutes. To those that dont see me online I had to make room for D1 participants.

@Oshawa-Joe and @ExoSphere64 Are the Directors listed correct?
I'm inferring @fastfox400 is the D1 Director or Co-Director?
So are all the Divisions moving towards a friends only room tonight?
D1 yes
D2 yes
D3 yes
D4 yes
D5 yes
D6 ?
D7 ?
D8 ?

edit: Can I ask any more questions?

@Handlebar, For autocross, go with the Miata, period. The Miata was built for that kind of racing. You can find an older one with low miles for a steal too. Since you said autocross, Here are some links you will want to use.
Region info
Rules and Cars - List of cars and what class they belong in, in stock form. Also the rules book, which you will want to give a thorough reading.
For autox, you won't need to worry about a cage or roll bars. An accident is more likely to injure you on the way to/from the event then you are to get injured participating in a race. Autox is held in parking lots, where most of the time you will be in 2nd gear, and around 20-40 mph. The best thing about a miata, especially the older models, is that they are plentiful, and parts, including aftermarket, are cheap. Run in the , stock class for a season or two, then start upgrading. even working on them is fairly easy.
I will not recommend the roadster version of anything if you intend to take it to a track. If the car is not a natural convertible like the Miata or S2000, don't bother getting it for any other reason then to have the wind in your hair. the 350z itself isn't a bad car (better off getting any year 240z or 280z though, from an autox stand point) but as a convertible, it is a sloppy mess, as is most cars converted to a vert.

So i was moved to d6? Who do I need to add now to get into d6?

Handlebar and/or tevesh2. I'm sure they will be sending out requests sometime today.

@Oshawa-Joe

@zeromisfit999 and @tezgm99 are not currently assigned to the West Coast Division. If they wish to be moved there, they would need to let me know and I can take care of that for the start of the Feb. Season

Also JoeW should be listed with D2 with the part time drivers instead of the inactive drivers.

I'm already friends with handlebar.

DIVISION DIRECTORS AND/OR HOSTS WILL BE SENDING OUT FRIEND REQUESTS TODAY IF THEIR ROOM IS GOING TO BE FRIENDS ONLY. EXOSPHERE IS IN THE PROCESS OF FINDING OUT WHICH DIVISIONS WILL BE FRIENDS ONLY. KEEP AN EYE ON THE THREAD AND BE PATIENT. IT TAKES A LOT OF WORK ANY TIME THERE IS DIVISION EXPANSION.

I put that in the really big print and all caps just so it would be seen.

JoeW had has been moved to the Part Time list D2.

zeromisfit and tez raced in WCD instead of their assigned divisions last week. I have listed them back in their original divisions for now.

Wow div6? Who did I make mad?

@JLBowler and I spent close to two hours rejigging the Divisions yesterday. None of the decisions we made were based on personal feelings about anyone in particular.

What we had to work with was time trials, division results and how many total drivers we had to split into 8 divisions. Sometimes we had to make tough decisions to balance the numbers.

Rest assured if your results are not in sync, we'll adjust. The same goes for every other S.N.A.I.L.

Per zer05ive's post, currently assigned drivers in Div. 1-8 would not be allowed to switch over to the West Coast Division until the start of a new season. There were a couple of new drivers that got assigned and then it was discovered they wanted to run the West Coast and they have been moved as they are new and never ran in D 1-8.

I could have sworn when I looked I still saw JoeW listed with the inactives. I see it's all right now.

Yes, so many new drivers going into D4, 5, and 6. The gap in speed between the middle divisions is almost non-existent. We bump up against a limit of the number of racers in a room and have to split it somewhere though.

Was aware of zer0's post, but under the impression the 2 drivers had jumped to WCD prior to his post.

Joe,

To make it easy on you here is an

Just trying to keep the record keeping side of things in order. Zeromisfit999 scored points in D5 already this month, so he's not moving without causing problems. Tezgm99 has not raced in D 1-8 so if he wanted to move he probably could without creating any scoring issues but it would be up to @zer05ive and @kcheeb.

I have sent out PSN Friend Requests to anyone that didn't have it before.

Was only missing three, I think! 👍 D6 is ready to roll.

Thanks for the links, Rally. I tested out an '02 MX-5, this afternoon, it was nice. Just have to finish off the garage to get the final green light. I will try an S2000 to see what I think. The 350Z was fun, but bigger than I felt like dealing with. No, not that, hard to articulate, but while it was a really really nice car, it just didn't make me wish I had my checkbook in front of me. A camera, sure, but that is about it.

Sorry kcheeb I know you guys spend alot of your own time going through all of this stuff and I truly appreciate it. Ill be quiet now. At least im still in snail

I don't know how much it will matter to the record keeping considering we had so many drivers change divisions in the last couple weeks, especially with the movement this week.
