I have it on PC

The good:
  1. I can use my G27 wheel without modifications:sly:
  2. Sounds are awesome
  3. Graphics are awesome
  4. The "career mode" is more challenging than GT6 (you can adjust the skill level and length of the races according to your skill)
  5. AI can be adjusted to any level you want and at 100% they are aggressive and fast and you can learn from them
  6. They have a bunch of nice cars
The Bad:
  1. You have to be a professional driver to understand how to tune the suspension - lots and lots and lots of options
  2. You have to tune the car for every track, which means that you can have over 1000 different settings for each car (+40 tuning settings and 40 tracks)
  3. You have global Force Feedback AND track specific Force Feedback settings...
  4. On-line racing sucks (compared to what you can do in GT6) (And on PC you can't talk to each other, you have to type... :indiff:)
  5. Replays are poor (Photo mode, data analysis, sector times) and doesn't come near what you get from GT6
  6. I paid $59 for the game less than a year ago. If I want to buy all the DLC content released since then, I have to fork up another $55. (But then, when was the last time we saw a new car in GT6, not including the VGT models....?)
The Neutral:
  1. The physics are quite different and in my opinion more challenging to go fast, BUT, my GT6 times improved quite a bit since I applied the PCars tricks in my GT6 style.
  2. Adjustments you can make in PCars correlates more to the kind of adjustments you can make in the real world (street cars have limited suspension adjustments, while true race cars have all the adjustments)
  3. GT6 can do HP improvement tuning, PCars can only tune suspension performance and you may be able to play with gearbox and final drive settings on race cars)
To me the "Driving Experience" with PCars is more satisfying, but the "Gaming Experience" with GT6 is better

I have still more to explore in PCars, and there is still more to say, but everyone will have his own opinion and preference.
Excellent review. I agree wholeheartedly and have been playing for a month. (Except the chat thing, I like the party chat option.)

Remember boys and girls, safety first! I always find getting the car up on jacks to be the most stressful part of any job!

All nice and shiny!

And after a few hours the fronts are all buttoned up! Tomorrow morning I'll tackle the rears. :)

I have it on ps4, I pretty much agree with all that Rednose says, except the tuning part:

I didn't have a clue on how to set up a car and I used to find it pretty frustrating (I’m still no expert), but then I found this video guides from someone here on GTP:

And as I was watching this series on setup, I kind of felt that "click" in my mind and pretty much all the settings that can be adjusted made sense. Now adjusting set ups has become really enjoyable for me. (plus most of the stock settings on the cars makes them handle like cardboard boxes on wheels)

Playing online is the worst thing, people just dive bomb and crash everywhere. Just avoid public rooms and join the Snail series or other clubs with decent people.

Other than that, maybe more tracks would be cool, but I like the game overall.

Thank you for this guide. I hadn't seen it before I'm enjoying the heck out of it!

What, no cinder blocks or wooden 4x4's? ;)
As a 4x4 (Four wheel drive/ off-road) guy, I think those jack stands are sooo cute. Adorable!!!

But in all seriousness, 👍 for having four jack stands. I've seen too many guys use two on one end and the jack on the other.

I've been guilty of putting my jack stands on 4x4 wood though :embarrassed:. But cinder blocks? Oh Lord, please tell me everybody knows better.

Performance Projects Rock!!!

Back on solid ground! After about 30 hard stops from varying speeds (including some illegal ones) everything is settling in nicely. Really happy with the initial performance but I think it's time for some better fliud... and maybe a set of stainless steel brake lines. :D

And some racing stripes, and some new rubber. maybe a turbo kit or a nos kit, how about some euro mirrors and lights.
I wish it was in Project Cars, although I'm confident it would be significantly harder to control.
I don't believe an elise is that hard to control. Every review I've read says they are go karts!

I love the Elise. I might show up just for that combo.
I don't know if it's the car or the track but the combo of the 2 just can't figure them out. (even though I got fast lap on race 2)
I didn't say it was.
I'm referring to the real car vs the GT6 car. If Pcar's is more realistic then GT6 then an elise should be a dream to drive in Pcars! (P.S. get a wheel!)

You Must stay in contact with the throttle 95%> of the time in the Elise.
Best way to keep it steady/stable
& also at the perfect RPM

Bring it down to it low RPMs mid corners, while still in contact with the throttle ,

but rarely off throttle all the way.

Ahh, I gotcha. I never had a problem with it in gt6 fm doing what @MikeGrove suggested

Season 8 of the SNAIL World Road Racing Challenge is in the books! Congratulations go to our local hot-shot @gtr3123 for his overall March win. A fantastic feat considering he missed a race. Great job man!

Voting for S9R1 has also wrapped up. The Mitsubishi Evolution will be replaced by the Renault Formula Renault 3.5. It's first visit will be the Sonoma Grand Prix circuit on April 5th. Clear skies abound, let's go fast!

This upcoming week is an OFF WEEK for the WRS, but some of us would still like to do something to get together. The following schedule outlines the details of this Non-Points Event. All SNAILS are invited whether you're a regular WRC driver or not. We will only run a single lobby however so the grid will be limited to 16 drivers. WRC drivers take note the details that stray from the normal WRC race settings.

Steward Report

2 drivers have raced their way off probation this week. Great work fellas! 👍👍

Morning ladies and gentlemen. I'm interested in racing this weekend. Anything scheduled that I can participate in?

@oneloadedbanana

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!
Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add @CoachMK21, @JLBowler, @nmcp1 & @zer05ive as participants. The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing club. Sunday races are organized exclusively through the GT6 Community features within the game.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread. If you have a preference for car/wheel colour and racing number, please follow the instruction contained here.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

Thanks for the reply. I've already went through the process already and have been accepted. It's been sometime though. Do I have to regregister and time trial again??
