Has anyone else using the T300RS experienced the start menu popping up in the middle of a race even though the start button was not pressed? It happened to me a few times while going through the single player, and it happened again at least twice last night.

It's happened to me a couple times and I know @JamCar0ne had it happen as well. We are both using T300RS

Have this happen a couple of times a night, always while turning the wheel. There is a thread https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/thrustmaster-t300rs-random-button-presses-issue.364206/ in the sim hardware section specifically for this issue. Guys wanting to track down the cause and solution for it. Some think it is the DIN connector.

On race nights I change the password to my router, this ensures that nothing else is hooked wirelessly, and the only thing hard-wired is my PS4 Pro, everything else is booted off for the night. But again, I don't think the issues are related to my connection. I always clear the cache(delete temp network files), restart my internet and PS4, and test the internet connection. I usually see numbers around
Download 9.5 to 10 Mbps
Upload 750-800 Kbps (this is sufficient isn't it???)

Yes, that should be fine. It's about the same as mine.

So non fixed host exacerbates people with really low upload (since you need to send your track position to everyone in the mesh, thats n uploads at once where n is the number of players in the room). Fixed host solves this because you send your data to only 1 person, the host, and then the host distributes all of the information to everyone in the room. The download speed needed should be the same between fixed and non fixed hosts. Theoretically the latency is on average higher in fixed host mode, but the difference shouldn't be an issue as long as the host is hard wired and has good and Consistent upload and download speed.

This is also why fixed host would solve the player not seeing each other 90% of the time. In fixed host mode, the host needs their firewall setup right, but when it is everyone should be able to correctly talk to the host. In non fixed host, everyone needs to have their firewalls (and isps) setup right.

Someone tested GT5 long ago and I can't find the post on GTPlanet about it but he tested and found that you really only need 1.0 up and 1.0 down in order to play the game. This covered what the game demanded at peak but that peak was pretty constant so you would need to consistently have at least 1.0 down and 1.0 up. It's when a user dips below that for any amount of time that an issue can present itself. The PS3 was capped at 20.0 down and 5.0 up. Download and upload speed isn't everything. Ping plays a role along with many other factors that have already been disucssed.

Fixed host can remedy some situations but it can also create other problems. Chief among them is that if the host has a power outage or other disconnect, the whole room is gone. It does serve to isolate any individual problem connections in the room. If you assume that the host has a strong connection (as any fixed host would have to for SNAIL) then any driver that is having issues is, more often than not, the source of their own issues. If that source is in their home or in route to the host is open to debate.

I am calling on all divisions to keep their data up to date, please. We have a very proud history of data and we would like to continue that with GT Sport.

See this The critical info is there, updated to include last night's racing. The race data are added as we input the data. Don't know if this is a public link, but you can browse through it too. I also want to run a Race of Champions in the first or second week of December. Without data, there is no fun.

Without our dedicated volunteers, we will not be able to provide this service.

It would be wherever the cap is. In your scenario, it would be the ISP head. I am compiling a little spreadsheet cataloging drivers and the issues they have experienced since the GTS launch. Maybe I'll reach out and get some network info from them as well.

Apparently there was a lot of Comcast outages in the area last night and today. Hopefully its just a one time problem for me and I'll be back to racing this coming weekend. If not, I may have to figure something else out.

If I were to get the game this Thursday and have limited play time can I still get far enough to buy the cars needed?

If you get the LE version you get 1,000,000 cr and 8 cars. The maximum cr limit for SNAIL Allowed cars is 450,000cr. Currently we are using at least 2 cars that are very close to that limit. The Gr. 3 Ferrari ,and the BMW GT3 which would leave you only around 100,000 left to buy a car with. Luckily in GTS there are several ways to collect credits (cr) and win new cars at a pretty good pace. I would say you would only need a couple of hours to gain enough credits to buy your cars. Obviously if you start with 0 credits , it will take a little longer.

The round that received the most elimination votes was:
Round 1 - PORSCHE CAYMAN GT4 CLUBSPORT 2016 (SS) at Autodrome Lago Maggiore - GP - 18:00 Clear (5 laps)
Therefore the entire combo has been dropped from next week's line-up. Since @Grandpa Money wins Prize A, he gets to choose an entirely new car and track combo to replace it.

The round that received the second most elimination votes was:
Round 2 - FERRARI 458 ITALIA GT3 2013 (RH) at Alsace - Village - 08:30 Clear (7 laps)
This means either the car or the track will be replaced for next week's line-up. Since @FREEREVN gets Prize B, he has the option to freeze the car or the track, or he can give that option to the Prize C winner. If he gives the freeze away, then he gets to decide what car or track replaces the part of the combo that is left unfrozen by the Prize C winner.

Prize C goes to @SAMHAIN85 so he gets whichever option the Prize B winner does not select.

Preliminary prize winners, please don't announce your prize selection until all incident reports have been filed and it has been confirmed that you don't have any penalties. It's also recommended that you review the SNAIL combo history and other data on our car and track history so that you can get an idea how many times we've raced each car and track. Please remember that originality is always appreciated, so picking cars and tracks that we've never raced is a plus (but not required). What's more important is that you thoroughly test any combo that you are considering before making it your official selection. For example, any car you select should not hit its rev limiter at any point during a race (even in the draft).

IMPORTANT: When posting your Prize A or Prize B selection, please list the complete in-game name of the car and/or track you are selecting. For example, if you want to select the Amuse Superlegara for your car, post "Amuse Nismo 380 RS Superlagara". If you want to select Monza for a track, post "Autodromo Nazionale Monza". This makes it much easier for the lineup to be updated accurately and also prevents confusing other league members as to which car or track you are selecting. Also, please be sure to list the PP and HP (after oil change) of any car you select.

Any one know how to force calibration of the G29 . I am having trouble with the wheel not recognizeing the input left or right.. it seems stuck on left.

Well, my G29 has called it quits. I was going to do the Sport Mode races last night, and I could not get the wheel to complete the calibration. Somehow it picked it up on Sunday after many tries. Taking back to Best Buy to get a new one.

View media item 2540This week's prize winners are clear to make their selections. Good racing!

@SAMHAIN85 @FREEREVN @Grandpa Money you are all free to make your choices and have been included in a conversation that includes instructions and deadlines that must be followed and met.

My G29 suddenly increased it's FFB last night. I went to start my practice for the Manufactures Cup and I almost couldn't turn the wheel. I switched it over to PS3 then back to PS4 and it resolved the problem. Did it again later when I was using wheel and controller in livery editor then went back to daily races. Switched it again and it reset the wheel back to normal FFB. Weird!

I choose to freeze the Ferrari

With that, @SAMHAIN85 is a repeat winner of prize B. This means that if you raced in D1 this week, you get to make one and only one suggestion for a track to replace Alsace Village. You must make your suggestion here. You must not edit your post to change your selection (editing for spelling is OK). You should not add pictures to your suggestion post (it doesn't lend well to quoting when we group the suggestions). Remember that this is not a vote, it's a suggestion. This is your chance to make your voice heard. The deadline to make a suggestion will be 11:59 ET on Tuesday night. At that time, the suggestions will be grouped together and Samhain85 can choose from them.

On occasion yes. Are you using the alcantara wheel? ( http://amzn.to/2y8TQn9 ) I only noticed it happening with that wheel.
No I'm using the stock wheel that came with the GT edition.

Yes, that should be fine. It's about the same as mine.
Yea I'm also going to try reconnecting the wheel to the base.
