$5.99 a gallon. But got .10c off for using my grocery reward points. Big whoop

I guess the days I heard as a kid where you could dump a pocket full of change on the counter at the gas station and fill up your tank are long long gone.

We are "lucky". Still able to get gas for 5.09 at three different stations on my way home from work. We do have places that are over 6.00 a gallon though. I started driving in 1992 and way back in the good 'ole days, 5 bucks would get you enough gas for the weekend with a little left over.

I have been off GT7 for the last several days after unlocking the tracks. Been busy and kind of wanted to take a break and catch up with some of my shows.

Might try to get on and do some license tests tonight :)

Wow! And I've been hearing that the prices in Vancouver, BC were among the highest in NA, and after all the various conversions we are paying $5.90 US per US gallon. Deep Thought: If there's a US gallon, is there a US litre?:)

California says, "hold my beer." There are many places that are over $6 per gallon. I live in the least expensive part of the state. @SAMHAIN85 's neck of the woods is a little bit pricier.

Regarding GT7's problems with online lobbies; I don't hope, I don't believe (OK, I hope for world peace and I believe in science and reason:)), I do think that PD had some serious issues with rolling out GT7. I think that the requirement to modify the game to be compatible with PS4 used considerable resources which contributed to the issues we are now faced with.

As a casual user of PlayStation games I haven't given much thought to how the game(s) evolve. I was just talking to my brother about his involvement with the online game Virtual Skipper, some 15, 20 years ago, and he relates communicating directly with the software developers and even the CEO of the company. I realize Virtual Skipper probably had a much smaller fan base, but my question is: Did any of the BoD of Snail (or anyone) have any direct input to PD regarding lobby set ups? I think the inability to change settings in a lobby must be fixed, as so many lobbies I was in in GTS voted on the next track and/or car. Not to mention all the other groups out there in the same situation.

We do not have a contact at PD, unless someone is holding out.

It would make sense that lobbies in GT7 would have at least the same functionality as those in Sport, 6, and 5. Just the basics of being able to change settings, see race results, and set the grid.

As the game currently sits, it feels like many things are missing. 39 menu books? 39? That doesn't make sense. There has to be more especially considering the menu books don't utilize Gr. 2, Gr. 1, or any VGT cars.

There will be additional things added through updates as has already been stated but the basic functionality of the game needs to be high on that list of priorities to be updated.

I am an Apple user, iPhone, iPad and MacBook Air. None of which can be used to update either of the wheel/pedal sets I've owned, T300RS nor Fanatec CSL Elite with load cell Brake. Unless things have changed in the past year, updates to software (a requirement when you first get new hardware) must be done with a Microsoft based PC or laptop. I ended up buying a ThinkPad on Craigslist just for that reason. In fact I am doing so right now to adjust the dead zone on my brake pedal. I need more tech savvy neighbours. 😁
I know this is a bit old but as long as you your MacBook isn't one of the new ones with an M1 chip you can run it in bootcamp and do your updates there. That's how I run IRacing on my MacBook Pro.

Anyway, I'm looking to pull the trigger on a Fanatec DD setup since they announced a price hike. I'm okay paying for the podium but if I can justify not spending an extra 1k I'd be easily persuaded. I'm currently racing with a T300 and looking between either the GT DD or the Podium. Is the extra 12 nm of power really worth the extra 1k, especially since I'm not competing at the pro level.

If anyone is having a problem getting gold with S7 License test in GT7 with the Super Formula Honda '19 at Laguna, i uploaded a replay and i got 1:06.803 time. The only assist i had on were ABS on weak with No other assists on. I use a controller and i used left analog stick for steering, X for acceleration, Square for braking and the controller settings i used were Controller Steering Sensitivity set to 7. Force feedback max torque set to 10. Force feedback sensitivity set to 10. Driver line assist i had on were Driver Markers. The tags i used for the Replay were as followed.

1. Lap
2. Time
3. Record

Edit: Uploaded Replay of license S10. Got a gold time of 2:25.007. Same controller settings, was hell of a license to conquer. I forgotten which tags i used for the replay to license S10 but should be able to find it searching under the nickname RacingChamp30
with a controller? that's insane! well done. ic an do bronze without isseu. Struggling to make up the needed time with the wheel.
Felt pretty good getting Silver with the Audi on RHs. It was hard.. but finally was able to pass the slow pokes without crashing.

I am stock with some of the other one with the wrong tires. Need an update pronto KAZ!

@zer05ive not sur eif you are ghe genius of the SnailRacing.org.. but thanks for getting that pointed to the right place.

a couple of of minor game play details that may or may not be news. Windshield banner option for full livery treatment. Practice, non-race lobby laps will display dynamic weather if selected. See below for changes during 10 lap cruising at Laguna.

I like the banner on the wind shield and stickers on windows. It adds a lot of depth to liveries.
Can you please share your SnailRacing.Org sticker.. repost, share, like.. LOL.

All of my livery decals are on GT7 and not much has been re created yet.

I have read the first post and would like to join.

I Just joined gt planet and saw Snail on there.
@FRICKIN_J

Here's your official SNAIL Welcome Post!

Thanks for your interest!
Here's what you need to know (and do) in order to join SNAIL Racing League:

We run a clean league by enforcing a strict penalty system based on the SNAIL OLR (which is a modified version of the GTP OLR). We also expect all of our drivers to know and follow The Good Racecraft Guide. Please become versed in both if you aren't already. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below to complete your entry into the league:

1. You start a conversation and add zer05ive, JLBowler, nmcp1, Rednose58, MajorBlixem, SAMHAIN85, llNovall & Akzl298
as participants.

The conversation title should be "Request To Join".

2. SNAIL Administrators will respond with specific instructions on what you need to accomplish to join the SNAIL [Spec] Racing.

3. Place the following links (URLs) in the favorites (or bookmarks) in your web browser for quick reference. Please make every effort to read and understand the following links. Over the years a great deal of time and effort has gone into creating this league and we would like nothing more than to have you but we ask that you take the time and effort to do your homework. 99.9% of any question you may have about SNAIL can be found in the posts below.
4. You drive fast and clean on Sunday 👍

Again, the original post has everything you need to know about what to expect on Sunday night and what you will need to have completed in order to be competitive. If you have any questions, please feel free to post your question on the thread.

During the week we run a number of different events, we encourage all SNAILs to join as many as possible.
Welcome to SNAIL

I was as researching gtplanet.net to try and find some competitive, clean racing groups for GT7.

Welcome to SNAIL

I’ve been trying for 3 nights to get the Rolling Stone mission closed out. 1 gold remaining. Only 14 friends were able to get gold. The rest, subjugated to misery.
It’s drift challenge at Daytona road course (turn 6) with Gr4 Mustang on RH. Need 3700 pts, can muster 3177 only. It’s super sticky and super snap happy. Helps tremendously with aids on but a mother to execute. Who has the knowledge to rescue me from insanity?

I got within .6 sec of gold on the broken rally ib trial where it gives you Comfort tires instead of dirt tires. Guess I’ll have to wait til it’s fixed.

Had some frustrating moments in the ‘89 M3 rain one and the one with the severe elevation change.

Finally golded all ib except the silver in the rally one.

Will shoot for IA next time I’m on.

Finished IB license with at least bronze. One try on each except that elevation change and the M3 in the wet. Spun within a second of the start with the M3. Finished 38 menu books with just the last one to do probably Thursday or Friday.

Total Distance Driven 1769.69 km
Total Time Driven 10:01:58
Total Fuel Consumed 827.7 liters
Average Fuel Consumption2.14 km/L

Cars Bought 4
Credits Spent on Cars Cr. 204,270
Credits Spent on Customization Cr. 39,500
Credits Spent on TuningCr. 587,050
Car Collection Progress 17%

I have just over 4 million credits banked so if the lobbies ever get figured out, I have money to buy cars for SNAIL. Most of the tuning budget has been on tires and computers with the occasional bolt on parts to get right to the limit of the PP regulation for an event.

The last update introduced a tire bug in the license tests and the missions. The cars are on default tires. I thought it was just in rallies (no dirt tires), but that Mustang drift challenge was difficult to get gold so I realized it had the tire bug too. If you look at videos pre-update the Mustang is on Comfort tires. Just wait for a bug fix, you'll be fine.

Thanks Nik! Once comfort tires get put back on that mission, I might topple your #1 spot (with all the practice I’ve had).
I knew about the dirt tire mess but didn’t realize that other missions and licenses were messed up too. Even on RH, I was able to get silver on a dirt mission. I don’t shy away from “impossible”. But I do get beat up.

I got within two tenths and decided to just pack it in and not waste any more time on it:

Might try and go after more tests tonight since I have no desire to race online till everything gets fixed. Plus I want to stockpile as many credits as I can for now

@nmcp1 did you miss my request?

Judging by the gt logo endlessly spinning, I'd say we have an update coming....

Looks like they fixed the tire bug, as well as adjusted some of the payouts for the world circuit races. No lobby update yet 😕

They solved the tire glitch in the missions, but they also REDUCED by more than 50% the payout for Fisherman's rally further breaking the in-game economy. How dare people are getting in game credits without forking out their hard earned money to us.
