This week's prize winners are clear to make their selections. Good racing!

The IR Submission Form is now closed.

We have 1 incident on file. Target deadline for reviews is NLT 10PM Eastern on 5/13/22.

Next week will begin our testing of GT7. Due to the constraints presented by the current state of the lobbies in GT7, there are going to be some changes to the format that we will be trying out.

Prize winners will have different prizes. This is due to the inability to change the track in a lobby without shutting down and reopening the room.

Prize A = Choose a car and track combo. The track will be used for all six races throughout the night and the car choice will be limited based on tires. All three cars must run the same tire compound. This weeks tire compounds will be RH or RM. Once this choice is made...

Prize B = Choose a car that uses the same tire compound as that of the Prize A winner's car.
Prize C = Same as Prize B to complete the line up for the night.

For the first week of testing, we will be using 10 minute timed races and attempting to manually set the grid by parking in order on the track. This means that no warm up laps will be allowed at any time during the night. The only driving on the track in between races will be driving to you spot in line from pit road. This is a return to a method that had to be used in the past and it got very messy when drivers didn't follow the rules.

The credit cap for cars to be chosen is 500k cr. and the car must be available in Brand Central. This will be open for discussion once the testing phase of GT7 is complete.

The list of cars that are available along with their assigned tires can be found here.

More details of the race night will be provided as they are finalized.

For now, all prize winners are clear to make their choices and will be included in a conversation in the next couple of minutes. The repeat prize winner will not have to go through a suggestion process as the prizes have changed and we want to streamline the process this week.

Prize A selection: Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C6) ‘09 @ Trial Mountain Full Course.

RM tires, average lap time 1’54 over 10 laps.

I wanted to pick a combo new to GT7 so here it is. Don’t worry, with RM tires and TCS off, she is perfectly manageable. Braking distances are a bit on the longer side due to the 630 hp V8 but apart from that, very fun to drive. Trial Mountain always has been a favorite of mine, it should make for some great racing this sunday night even with the new layout.

Prize B selection: Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo 250,000cr 616 hp 2469 lb RM tires.

I wanted to choose a race car, but opted for this cheaper alternative. I am bummed I will be missing the next 2 weeks. But look forward to Snail in GT7

Having said that I'm more that willing to spend $1M for a car. I found a race at Sarthe that pays $550k and with a clean race that = $825k in about 32 minutes. Not as much as I earned in GTS, but a more interesting race. Rain always figures into the race, but to very different degrees. Pit stops are required for fuel and tire choice is key. Weather map and 'slippery' gauge are very handy. I don't always win, but often. I think any Gr 4 will work, but I have the Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 and it rocks there.

Also, the circuit experience gets you credit quite fast. I also think we could eventually up the cap to 1M. It will broaden our choice which is sorely needed considering a lot of cool cars are time locked in the used car dealer and Legend Cars.

The 800 pp race at Sardegna is a pretty easy win using the Epson NSX Gr. 2. It's the older model. Comes in under 800 pp bone stock. Run with RH and fuel map on 3, pit on lap 8 for fuel and new RH if you want them then run fuel map 2 to the end. There is enough wiggle room to turn up the fuel for certain sections. I usually run map 1 until I get past the first couple of cars.

Pays out 727,000 with the clean race bonus as takes just over 26 minutes. No rain to worry about.

Try the Red Bull Jr. for that La Sarthe race. RM and no need to pit for anything. I forgot the fuel map to do that but if it doesn't get too wet, it's an easy win.

Just remember when you're pitching for a raise to the credit cap that it needs to be set so that someone new to the game could buy all three cars at the highest value in the first week of game play. It's not based on what someone with the entire game opened up and cars at their disposal could afford in a week.

Good point, did not think of that. I’m thinking maybe later on we could include pre 01 cars (those not in brand central) we get through the cafe menus, unless a person sells those cars, we will all have them in our garages. Just throwing ideas here.

By the way, great idea for the format, making the most out of the lobbies in their current state. Can’t wait to try it out. Thanks again !

An idea for used cars to be available has been floated. Basically it would be that anything that is available at the time of selection could be chosen. The potential issue with that is if the car hangs around for a few weeks and then isn't available for purchase.

Personally, I've been buying everything that comes up in the used car lot that I have the credits for. I will be going home tonight and buying any of the three chosen that I don't already have and then racing to replenish my balance. I've been hovering around the 5 million cr. mark.

What’s the time setting?

So we would need to also buy tires as well. That also ups the ante a bit as well...race tires ain't cheap.

Hello all...quick question, back in March GT7 testing, there was a discussion of traction control possibly being used for RW cars. How did that pan out and is it possibly an option for SNAIL Racing on GT7? I've looked through the thread and didn't see a conclusion.

I race mostly Daily Races on GT7 and just being promoted to a Driver's Rating A/S , I find that I'm way more competitive using TC set at 1 versus 0. I have ASM turned off.

BTW...really enjoying racing with SNAIL.

Thanks...

Are we doing a new time trial for division placement?
There will be a time trial. For the two testing nights, we will maintain the same drivers list that we had for the last season on GT Sport.

That discussion is still ongoing.

I’m really excited for this format! With those that have less time to practice, makes a bigger presence of just being able to focus on one track, may in fact make the racing much closer across the board…..

The drivers list for the April season will carry over to the testing nights for GT7. If you are already on the drivers list, you don't need to do anything to be added for the two GT7 test nights.

If you are not on the current drivers list but were an active driver during the February season on GT Sport then you will need to post in this thread that you wish to participate in the test nights. I already have your request @Xradkins

If you are an inactive or new driver, you will need wait until we finalize the new time trial for GT7 before we add any drivers. New and returning drivers will be added for GT7 after the test weeks if we are able to complete our move to GT7.

Specific settings will be announced as they are finalized for the first test night.

The use of TC is under discussion. No other assists are being considered for use. There are alot of things that will need to be tested so if you can get into the party chat for your division, it will be very helpful.

500k is a great starting point as it covers a huge selection to keep us busy for quite some time.

A little information regarding this point
- 500k covers the majority of cars
- 500-685k brings 9 more very nice cars
- 800k brings ~6 more cars
- 1M (exactly) has 58 cars
Perhaps we could think of a 700k or 900k limit?

Please add me as a driver for the GT7 test season.
