Am I the only epson that drives in driver view/first person? How do I get rid of the insane glare at spa? There's 2-3 turns I can't see anything except eye searing glare when I was in the Peugeot

After finding out how easy the Peugeot is to drive I'm firing up the le mans race right meow.

Aaaaaaaand it's raining... 100%.... Yay me

Racing down the straight in the pouring rain unable to see anything but mist is AMAZING!

LOL.

You only think it's amazing. Wait till full dark hits and if it's still doing the monsoon thing you will be driving blind. At least at Nurb you will be. Been quite a while since I did 'Sarthe. If I recall correctly it rained some at night there but I don't remember visibility being as poor as at the 'Ring.

Good luck and don't lose your determination!

Nah you're not the only one. If I had a triples set up I would probably drive from cockpit view. Used to drive from bumper cam exclusively until I did the above mentioned 24hr 'Sarthe event. Since I used the X2010 for it I needed as much visibility as I could get so I put the view on the roof and have been driving from that view since, no matter what car. Roof view gives me a better perspective of where the left and right side of the car are in relation to the track and I discovered I'm much more precise from that view.

In the quick options menu just before you start a race and when you pause one there is a setting called EV or something like that. You might be able to cut that glare by lowering that number some. It will make night driving really dark however. Currently have my EV value maxed out while running at night.

I know how you feel bro! Idk how to fix that at all

When I did Sarthe, I had a completely dry race. It got boring after a while. The nurburgring I think is much more fun due to it's length. You realize how little you know the circuit when you do the 24 hours on it. Just having to change my line when lapping cars shows how little grip there is around the circuit.

Why are the ai so dumb? They get off their line when I'm about to lap them and they usually do it too late and run into me or chose to let me go on the less than ideal line. I could understand if this was a legit 24 with 170 cars on track but when it's only 12 and there is a zip code between each one, move the 🤬 out of the way

I'm thinking it would be it's own event. As much as I like the idea of making SNAIL sundays into a GTA practice event I'd rather have it just be for those who are serious about making it. As we get closer it might just become an every night thing but for now I'm thinking any open night works. My intention is to get a group of people practicing and improving each other's skills by sharing advice and tricks that they figure out. As far as what cars we'd use it'd be any of the Nissans in the game. They don't have to be GTA cars as those are just paint jobs for the most part. I realize it will take place on the GT6 platform which could be totally different but I figure it's worth practicing with what we have for now.

I would love this to happen. I was like 3000 something last year, would I be able to join? I'll try not to be the class:dunce:.

I've just given the AI a big chance after a brainfade; hit the pit wall on entry so it drove me through without stopping and I then ran out of fuel (near the end of the lap luckily) trying to make it back around 🤬

Exact opposite happening to me. I've done thousands of laps around the ring and only tens of laps around Sarthe. This track is a fickle one. Seemingly easy to memorize, but the bumps are evil little bastards.

The ring I have memorized to a T. It's freaking annoying that you have to be level 40 to enter it considering how looooong it takes to get there.

Don't remember what level I was when I did sarthe but I remember I hit 40 when I got done with it.

Sounds like a plan! Let us know when you have more details. 👍

Lets hope that happens with me. I've been wanting to so the Nürburg 24 hour for a year! It's the last thing I need to do before I consider myself a ring master

You guys influenced me to start the Nurb 24hr too. Got about 2.5 hours in on lap 20. 4.5 min lead. I got lucky so far. Just some wet at start. Dried up with in 30. Been overcast but the sun peaked out last night when I suspended the race as evening is nearing. Assume it's evening. Camp fires are starting to smoke.

I got to talking with Eric aka Dragon about backing the suspended save up in my thumb drive. Then I should be able to start game. Quit race. Do any online event needed. Reload back up save and start race again. Hopefully that works out. I don't know if I will have this thing beat by Sunday night for the SNAIL X race.

Tell me how that works out. I'm thinking about doing the same, but I'm worried that I'll corrupt my file and I don't have a very recent backup 👎

Uh oh, 8:55 in and it's just starting to rain again....

Edit: didn't have to worry about it. Rain only lasted for a few laps and it didn't even get to 1% :)

Since my plans to mow the grass in the early evening hours got rained out, might get more than 3 hours in tonight.

Onward!

I ran 14 laps in one hour and just now pulled in the pit. That very good? I bet I can get 16 laps if I tried.

Depends on car and driver skill. I used a stock 908 with suspension tune and full aero.

60 / 14 = 4min 30 second lap times. Are you doing Nurb 24hr race? That seems like an awfully quick lap. Ooh maybe an X2010

Stock 908 in the pouring rain. I'm doing the nine hour of Tsukuba so a 4:30 is a decent lap time.

JK I'm on Sarthe :dopey:

Awe. I was thinking my 7:30's weren't total suck. Then you got this 4:30 lap blowing my ego. LoL. Ok back to thinking I don't totally suck.

Dry you will see under 4 mins.

7:27.2 is as quick as I managed on the nur with hard tires. Watch you beat that time now lol

It's nice that fuel takes so long that I can post in the thread 👍

Can you change the time? Like Noon or something? The glare is probably from the sun angle.

My best lap is a 7:37.018 now on mediums. 10:44:29 down. With a a few offs here and there I've been in the 7:40s. Was actually able to drive more than an hour under dry conditions. Wonder how many more hours of night I will have. BB is at 7/3 now trying to save some back tire. I've only been able to get about 3, maybe 4 laps to a set of tires. How are the rest of you managing tire wear?

Between 13 and 14 hours completed. The sun is going to start to come up. I am burning through these full wets. Can't do more than 3 laps without pitting. I have a heavy foot I guess. Second place is going in every lap I think

7:21 on mediums.

Tires I can get 4 laps on Hards. 3 laps on mediums. Well prob get more but the time drop and fuel. Might as well pit.

Having fun. Just got back and going. 3hrs 23min and 26th lap.

Might just have my time in sync with real time at the moment. We shall see which gets dark first. ;)
