I'm gonna try to get next Sunday off. Hopefully someone will switch with me. I just need a real reason because if I tell them I want to race cars online in a video game with a bunch of people that's probably not gonna work.

Hey! Do yall have room for one more?
@EZT WarEagle,
Welcome to S.T.a.R. Racing League!

Our goal is to make your online racing experience the very best it can possibly be through the observance of High Quality Racecraft. Please take a moment to read the OP before asking any questions. It has all the details about S.T.a.R. Then read the OLR (online racing rules) and familiarize yourself with its major points. Negligent or reckless drivers are not tolerated here at S.T.a.R. and all members are required to exhibit Good Racecraft at all times.

Races are on Sunday @ 16:00 EST/21:00 GMT featuring Spec & Tuned races followed up with Race Cars and lasts approximately 2 hrs. Your'e not required to attend all of the races; simply show up and race when you want but please have your cars purchased and oil changed; we don't deviate from our schedule for a driver that isn't prepared. Administration generally has the car/track combos for each week posted by Wednesday evening; leaving drivers enough time to fully acquaint themselves with all three combos. We don't have an official practice day scheduled but we welcome & encourage posts on the thread if your looking for someone to practice with.

TWO THINGS before your first race:
  1. "Start a Conversation" with @BustedFoSho giving him your PSN ID - Color Scheme(car & wheels) - Racecar Number
  2. Submit your TT results as soon as you can, otherwise you cannot race in scheduled S.T.a.R. Events until we have this information.
We know your time is valuable and you have many different leagues to pick from; thank you for choosing S.T.a.R. Racing League.

Fraternally Yours;

S.T.a.R. Racing League Administration,
Coach

I'm having a hard time this week trying to pick my round 2 car. There are some obvious top dogs that I'd like to avoid but finding a car that is off the beaten path yet can hang close with the brz's and be in a position to capitalize on others' mistakes is proving quite the challenge. What are the rest of you going with on this one?

I'm still trying to decide too. I'm between the Toyota 86 GT & '07 Mazda Roadster. I'm still searching for something close to those two though. I'd like to find an old classic that can compete.

I am trying so hard to tune my '90 RX-7 to a level that its competitive but to no avail. I've scoured the dealership looking for something, anything that's interesting but may also be underrated. The good thing though, this combo has increased my interest in gt when it is waning severely. Trying to build an interesting car is almost more fun than racing anymore. Dear god this game needs some serious support from pd and soon. I find myself not even interested in firing it up for the log in bonus anymore. Kaz, save us!!

The '90 RX was my first choice too. It has good top end but just takes too long to wind up. Lol.

I was thinking there would be lots of choice for racers at this pace .. my car choice is definetly off the obvious cars.. I wished I could have given a short list of prohibited cars ;)haha
I too love the build

I found something other than the Mazda or Toyota. Going back to 1999. May look to the 60's or 70's next. You made this fun Whitey!

I was looking at the Merc 190 but it's at 416 after oil change. 1 point too many. Woulda been great otherwise.

I was looking at the 60's SLS Gull wing maybe but idk. I like the new search feature. I set it to 415 PP and FR and I went to the high end of the list. There are some good options there with more HP than the 86GT.

I tried the old BMW 2002 Turbo. Feels great and handles beautifully but just isn't fast enough. It feels better than the lap time indicates. :grumpy: I'd use it if it was inside a second slower but it's like 2 sec off the pace. Think I'll stick with the former Datsun manufacturer. :D

I think I've settled on the Toyota 2000gt. Dont know how competitive it is but it is pretty quick and an absolute blast to rip around in. I was getting high 2.03 lap times but offline in test drive mode. Im sure it'll be a tick or two slower online with proper room settings.

That's a fun car stock!!! I ran with a group in that car (stock) and had a blast. I'm sure you'll be competitive. I may throw a tune on it and see how she runs.

I've been on several times for an hour or so but no one showed. Should I post on here when I host? I'll label it "S.T.a.R. Practice".

I ran 2:02.731 in a Nissan and a 2:03.242 in the '67 Toyota. .499 difference in the Single Player TT. That's a coin toss in an 8 car race. The Nissan out corners the Toy but the ol' '67 is approx. 5 mph faster or more on the loooong straight.
