Should the enduro selection be one car. What's your thoughts in picking 2 or 3 even cars for a choice?
I like multi-car options...unlike Whitey. LOL.
hello everyone im back ive been having trouble moving as of late so im trying to play on my free time. IM still not stable yet but im getting there. I will be keeping you guys posted soon. thank you
Thank you so much for keeping us informed K1utch. That is very respectful and I sincerely appreciate it. It means a lot to me personally, anyway.

I think if we didn't have 16 through the season...youre on the driver list ...I thinkyou qualify lol

Hi I would like to join the leauge . I'm new to Gtp so I don't know if this is how you request to join or if you have to send an official request.
@Lamboracer24
Welcome to S.T.a.R. Racing League!

Our goal is to make your online racing experience the very best it can possibly be through the observance of High Quality Racecraft. Please take a moment to read the OP before asking any questions. It has all the details about S.T.a.R. Then read the OLR (online racing rules) and familiarize yourself with its major points. Negligent or reckless drivers are not tolerated here at S.T.a.R. and all members are required to exhibit Good Racecraft at all times.

Races are on Sunday @ 16:00 EST/21:00 GMT featuring Spec & Tuned races followed up with Race Cars and lasts approximately 2 hrs. Your'e not required to attend all of the races; simply show up and race when you want but please have your cars purchased and oil changed; we don't deviate from our schedule for a driver that isn't prepared. Administration generally has the car/track combos for each week posted by Wednesday evening; leaving drivers enough time to fully acquaint themselves with all three combos. We don't have an official practice day scheduled but we welcome & encourage posts on the thread if your looking for someone to practice with.

TWO THINGS before your first race:
  1. "Start a Conversation" with @Luv2Coach giving him your PSN ID - Color Scheme(car & wheels) - Racecar Number
  2. Submit your TT results as soon as you can, otherwise you cannot race in scheduled S.T.a.R. Events until we have this information.
We know your time is valuable and you have many different leagues to pick from; thank you for choosing S.T.a.R. Racing League.

Fraternally Yours;

S.T.a.R. Racing League Administration,
Coach

The LCC Rocket and Caterham Seven Fireblade are almost identical. Both RWD but have the engine in opposite places so that makes the handling different. Power/weight is so close that they offset each other.

LCC Rocket.......562 PP.....172 HP.....390 kg
Fireblade..........567 PP.....165 HP.....369 kg

So you can see they would be great on track together.

I've tried making a room of just this online but no one ever joins.

I know it doesn't matter but if I join ever, I'm keeping the French Racing Blue but rims will be black or alloy looking silverish whatever lol

Just some thoughts about our league. Ideas/input is welcome.

(1) Overall, what can we do to improve thread discussion/participation?

(2) What can we do to improve growth?

(3) Is our time slot too early/too late? (I'd like the Brits to be able to race.) Do we need to keep it time conducive to North America only?

(4) What is it that deters drivers from committing to S.T.a.R. after joining? (Ex: @Lamboracer24 disappeared after asking to join)

(5) Are we doing it right and just keep doing what we're doing?

(6) Do we make a Prize change in order to run the same combo more than one week? I think I'm the only one who has kept a car or track from the previous week. Sometimes we have combos that produce some very good races.

(7) Why do you race here? What brought you here & why do you stay?

(8) We have 6-8 drivers show up consistently each and (almost) every week. What can we do to make (7) every driver on rhe Drivers List?

(9) Why isn't there more practices hosted by other league drivers other than me? It would save a lot of frustration due to unfamiliarity with combos resulting in incidents that could otherwise be avoided.

Just some things I've been thinking about. Anything worth doing cannot be done alone. Am I alone? 💡

Coach

PS THANK YOU FOR THE CLEAN, NON-AGGRESSIVE, & RESPECTFUL RACING. THAT...WILL NOT BE CHANGED. THANK YOU GUYS.

From experience, the biggest thing that usually hinders the growth or participation in league or club racing is the time commitment. Most of the people on GT5/6 are more or less just playing with friends or bumming around to find a good random lobby to race in for an hour or two when their online. GT is also not an aggressive online racing simulator like Iracing or Rfactor, it is a rather good simulator but its audience is more on the casual side of things. Getting people to come race every week requires a much greater effort on the league / club to entice and maintain a membership. The dynamic of the league is also affected by what is being raced, when and where. An endurance league would run 1-2 cars at 1 track, which is a reasonable time commitment if you spend 2hours practicing and 1-2 hour racing that is just about 2.5% of your week, Where in Stars we run 3 cars at 3 tracks twice. If you are a committed driver who wants to do well at a track or combo you would probably spend 1-2 hours on one combo and maybe an hour on the other two combos. so were already at the point of time commitment for the endurance race and have only practiced for the race. And that only goes up the more committed you are. Now I am not saying the format of stars league is bad, it think its a great format but the time commitment for 6 10-15min races is rather high.
This leads to compromise, people won't practice as much and will not be as prepared for race day as say some one who is very committed to the series.

Another thing Ive noticed over the years is that most leagues consist of people who are friends to begin with on GT5/6 and in stars case i think that at one point or another we all met @Luv2Coach in his spec untuned lobbys or from some other race and began racing with him more regularly. This led to the creation of S.t.a.r.s racing league but now that we are a league, Coach has stopped hosting his untuned rooms (or at least I haven't seen them) which was probably the biggest draw of new blood for the league (since people are bumming around to find a good open room.) Additional putting the league title in the race header serves as a deterrent from joining, It positions it's self as an exclusive area. People are far more likely to join a room that says "400-500pp No tuning Clean" then "S.t.a.r.s SCLS Clean Racing."

So my conclusion of why there is a lack of participation or new members is the fact that we are a league. (and I am not suggesting we disband.) We just need to be more open generally (not to say were not "open" already) and that the hardcore group of guys that have stuck around for the 3 season and Kg vs Busted Debacle may be open to the time commitment that we have currently, others may find it daunting, challenging and frustrating.

and a personal answer to number 7 would be that its hard to find a good group of challenging racers that are also your friends.

Well spoken doc. I replied to some points below...

True. Something we can't "fix".

I've been thinking about that and have decided to host again during my inconsistent time spurts. Lol. (Boy do I miss those days!) My schedule has changed such that I cannot host for those 3-4 hr stretches like I did before. Irregardless, I will do what I can in the time I have. I will integrate upcoming combos during such sessions. I would ask those that will host an open "recruiting" lobby do so for the benefit of our growth. And please use our Tire Regs so it is consistent with the league.

Until we are at 32+ I agree.

(1) Overall, what can we do to improve thread discussion/participation?

Keep up the friendly, welcoming demeanor.

(2) What can we do to improve growth?

See #1.

(3) Is our time slot too early/too late? (I'd like the Brits to be able to race.) Do we need to keep it time conducive to North America only?

I'm working 4pm-12 EST every weekend. The only way to get me to race for the full 2.5 hours (accounting for late starts and time between races) is if we start at 12:30pm EST. At 2.5 hours we would end at 3:00 and I like to leave for work at 3:15. I know for the Brits the current start time is at night, so they're having a good night racing. For me and everyone else it's an entire later afternoon/early evening. I always had to leave early to take care of dinner. Opening the room at 12:00pm EST and allow 30 minutes for everyone to arrive, starting at 12:30 on the dot would be perfect.

(4) What is it that deters drivers from committing to S.T.a.R. after joining? (Ex: @Lamboracer24 disappeared after asking to join)

Not sure.

(5) Are we doing it right and just keep doing what we're doing?

Not sure.

(6) Do we make a Prize change in order to run the same combo more than one week?I think I'm the only one who has kept a car or track from the previous week. Sometimes we have combos that produce some very good races.

Because I'm not attending, therefore I can't win races and make good choices. I highly encourage prize winners to pick new tracks and think of themes for the car choice. Don't just pick a PP because that's where the car you want to use is at. Pick based on the kind of race you want. Low PP on a technical track like Brand Hatch Indy while higher PP on something like Monza would make a lot of sense.

(7) Why do you race here? What brought you here & why do you stay?

Clean racing with like-minded people I can chat with on the mic and outside of racing. And the spec racing. I prefer that over anything else.

(8) We have 6-8 drivers show up consistently each and (almost) every week. What can we do to make (7) every driver on the Drivers List?

Not sure.

If I was racing I would host more often.

The input is appreciated. Everyone is welcome to put in their $.02

I favor the Spec too Desert but the Tune is getting my attention lately. It's pretty cool actually. For Racecar, I really like GT300 Base Models because there are choices without tweaking anything. A group of 6 to choose from and drive 'em as is.

I hope it works out that you can drive here again some day Desert. Whether we have a time change or your hours change. I appreciate your thread participation and likewise on the track.

No. More. GT300. Seriously. There are other race cars with similar specs that are just as fun. Sure, not premium, but there's DTM. And then we can try going up to GT500 or GT3.

I don't hate the tuning race, but it's not my forte. I just find a car I like that's a little below the PP, lighten it, add power if needed, and just buy all parts. Racing Suspension Hard & Soft is my best friend when it comes to tuning.

We can also utilize all of the race cars from basic models. In GT5 they were called race modified and DLC Touring Cars. Now they're all just called touring cars.

I understand there are others. What I was saying is that with the 300s we can choose any of the Base Models and leave them as is. The PP range is 512-518 and evenly matched. Idk if the DTMs have that same characteristic, but I know the 500s don't. Not sure about the GT3s either, however I do like them.
I just wish the other Racecars were more evenly matched like the 300s.

Btw, all are welcome to chime in on this topic, my 9-question post, or any other race related topic. :)
