TURTLE RACING LEAGUE - FLEX RACING SERIES

Race 1: December 6, 2014 | One "Heathenpride" Enduro Race

Subaru IMPREZA GT300 Base Model '08 | Racing Hard

Nurburgring 24h - Time | 10 Laps

Dedication

In case anyone is wondering why this race is the "Heathenpride" Enduro. Heathenpride and I go back to when he was still trying to figure out the name for what would eventually become C.R.A.P. (Casual Racing Affiliates Program). Heathenpride didn't care if you were new to racing or had years of experience, all he cared about was that you enjoyed racing and you treated others with respect on and off the track.

My first memorable race with C.R.A.P. was a Nurburgring Enduro using the CUSCO DUNLOP SUBARU IMPREZA '08*. That car was also Heathenprides car of choice for his teams entry in the 2012 Wurks Online 24 hrs of Nurburgring race. His team finished 2nd in that race, but they would go on to win it in 2013.

So, from CRAPPERS micantony, MBOBB1969, martin_ky, and myself, we would like to say thanks for the memories Heathenpride!

*The Subaru IMPREZA GT300 Base Model '08 is exactly the same car other than color and number choice

DRIVERS MEETING

The "Golden Rule" of Motorsports

"It is the responsibility of the overtaking driver, meaning the car that is attempting to execute the pass, to make sure that the pass is made cleanly and incident free."

Rules

You are expected to follow The "Golden Rule" of Motorsports and adhere to the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules and exercise Good Racecraft at all times, especially in turn 1.

"Rubbin"

This is a non-contact sport. Let me put it another way, if you are "rubbin", you ain't racing in this league. We will not tolerate individual drivers taking the fun out of racing for everyone.

First Turn

You are not going to win the race on the 1st turn or the 1st lap. Therefore, it is the policy of this league for you to hold your position in turn 1. Holding your position in the first turn is limited to the first turn on the first lap. You must hold your position through the 1st turn and make no attempt to advance it unless the following situations occur: 1) The driver directly in front of you is asleep on the start. 2) The driver directly in front of you runs off course with at least 2 wheels off the track. 3) Obvious race incidents that must be avoided. Other drivers may draft past you before the approach to turn 1 if it can be done incident free. In other words, if you are able to fully draft past someone without incident or disruption to the other driver(s) with a reasonable distance before approaching the first turn you may. This rule is in place for 2 reason: (1) to avoid incidents in the first turn, and (2) so that drivers doing their part to avoid incidents in the 1st turn of are not taken advantage of. There is no sense in causing an incident in the congestion of the first turn. Furthermore, it is inappropriate to take advantage of other drivers doing their part to keep turn 1 incident free. If a complaint is filed, the decision we make will be one that promotes an incident free first turn.

Dive Bombing

Dive bombing is unacceptable
, and only results in accidents. It is not the same as passing under braking. Dive-bombing is when a trailing car intentionally brakes late to dive underneath the car in front of them as they are turning into a corner. The trailing driver must move to the low groove for at least 3-4 seconds prior to corner entry, so that the leading driver can see the trailing drivers intentions in his mirror. However, running the low groove is not a guarantee that he will allow you to pass, it is only an indication that you wish to pass him on the low side.

Procedures

Until everyone has accepted the TURTLE RACING LEAGUE "Community" invitation and we have more experience with the "Community" function we will run the races in an open lobby. Go to "Open Lobby" and check the "Friends Rooms Only" box and look for TURTLE RACING LEAGUE - FLEX RACING SERIES and enter. Races will begin at 10pm Eastern time.

Connection Issues

Please follow the procedures below to help minimize connection issues.
Step 1: Reboot your modem/router
Step 2: Reboot your PS3
Step 3: Clear your GT6 in game System Cache

Pit Stops

Drivers need to be very careful entering the race track when exiting the pit. Please look at your map to see if other drivers are near the pit exit. Drivers exiting the pit need to stay in the pit exit lane until the track is clear of cars on the track. Cars on the track have the right of way.

Quitting

Drivers are expected to finish races no matter what position they are in. Rage quitting is frowned upon! :grumpy:

Microphones

Although you are welcome to use microphones during the race, they should only be used to communicate your proximity to other drivers in order to avoid an incident. Otherwise, either mute them or make sure any background noise in non-existent.

Reminders

• Hold your position and do not attempt advance it in turn 1 of lap 1
• If you go off track make sure the track is clear before you re-enter
• If you cause an accident you must wait and give the position back

Race Incidents

Legitimate complaints are encouraged, they insure a better racing environment for everyone. Complaints should be addressed by "Private Message" to the race steward of the race in which the incident occurred. Please include race number, lap number, and time of incident. A ruling will be announced after a video review by an independent steward. All racing incidents or racing related issues shall be dealt with privately and under no circumstance mentioned publicly.

Final Note

Race Clean and Have Fun!

You can open club lobbies that are open to the public, and the "Friends Rooms Only" function still applies to these rooms.

Is there any advantage to using the "Community" function over an "Open Lobby" or vice versa? Thanks

Off topic, but I'm adding any new PSN friends in this thread for if Psycho can't be present for a race. Or if we need to run two rooms if one room fills up, then maybe I'll open the second room. But we'll get to that later if need be.

Anyway, Psycho, I was just looking back through the thread, and the driver list needs to be adjusted. Heathen of course just joined up, and Silver Fire still has not been added to the list. Also, for mine and yours (seriously, how do you mess up your own?), our PSN ID's are wrong. You forgot the dash between your name, and my PSN and GTP ID's are simply flopped. I just wanted to avoid any confusion. 👍

Edit: Holy crap, are you a mind reader, Psycho? You sent me that PSN message as I was typing out my post here. Are you a wizard?

Ah man... Turtles.. I can't make it again tonight..we bought a new race car tonight. Moving up a class "street stock" gotta work on it tonight.

Good luck to all the Turtles And that CRAP Member @Heathenpride

I think I fixed everything, thanks! I would say I am the Wizard of Oz, but if Heathenpride can read minds as well he may want to use that for himself being from down under and all.

You: 8:51.781
Mic: 8:46.9 (?)
Me: 8:50.8
Dolph: 8:48.9

Lol. That lap was low fuel to mess with Dolph.

Full fuel load i got down to 8:49's a couple times is my best, but most laps are a couple seconds above that on the low 8:50's. Easy car to drive, so it should make for some good battles between all of us throughout the field.

Sorry, I meant for tonight. The club event page says the event starts at 20:30. But post #5 says the race starts at 10PM.

When can I join in the room to do the warm up laps?

I am not exactly sure how "Club Events" work yet. The races begin at 10pm Eastern. I will open a lobby maybe an hour earlier than that if you wish to practice. If anyone has experience using "Club Events" and wants to offer any advice that would be great.

Just set up a practice room in the Club Lobby in case anyone wants to join :)

Dang it, Ph1sh! You and your real life racing getting in the way. Turtle is where it's really at. :P
I know right!! I want to race with you guys again so badly!! I told that to @Psycho Tuber when we ran a few laps together. If everything goes planned for next Saturday I should be able to make it but we will see.

I'll post some pictures when we go get it. Gonna get some new body on it! Looking Phish sexxaay  but even when it's not phish sexy I'll still post some pictures of it. It's a fast loud car!

Again, Good luck tonight Turtles..I need to get back on my weekly routine with you guys!! TRL Racing every Saturday night

It's all good mate. When you get her all spiffed up send us a picture.

Uh oh!

I won't be in racing. As I said before, I'm just starting on my new account. I don't even have the online feature unlocked yet!

Sorry I left early, utterly passed off. Worst race since I started this stuff.

Also did not like the laps being changed to 11. Messed up my fuel plan ( and a side note, PD apparently changed the fuel refill to "how much to finish" from "how much to fill up" so that screwed me up) and no way I wanted to drive around a whole lap extra for no reason.

Ok, I'll admit I got a little close to the guard rail, but c'mon.....did I deserve all that?

Haha, good race fellers

Brutal!

Great race tonight, guys! It was awesome to see so many people make it out. And holy crap was SprintCupChamp1 fast! Congrats on the win (even if you aren't an official Turtle at the moment :sly:). Also, thanks for telling him he was down on horsepower, Racing... :P I maybe could have kept up with him otherwise.

Finally, thanks to Psycho for reviving TRL. We worked hard to keep it going while you were gone, but it clearly shows how much of an influence you've had on the community when we get so many people to show up.

What an excellent race!

14 drivers for starters is a great effort, well done turtles!

Thank you to @Psycho Turtle for honouring the CRAP name with the HP tribute race, very humbling and I thank you for it :)

Well done to podium winners @micantony and @Dolph Drago as well as the winner sprintcupchamp (who's GTP handle I'm unaware of) and for everyone else for excellent racing and a bloody good time!

My race started a bit off key when, after qualifying 7th, I lost 2 places after mistakenly thinking we all hold position up to the exit of turn 1 :dunce: I've got that clarified now so I won't make that mistake again 👍

Settled in to 7th for lap one and waited for the straight where i executed a double draft and hopped into 5th which I consolidated for a lap or two until 4th (I think @Chocochocochip5?) fell off and allowed me through.

Kept 4th til I pit end lap 6 when I was passed by drex but he was on some worn tyres so I chased him down and, after a great Döttinger battle, I went through and consolidated my position... Until I fell off with a lap and a bit to go  which let @BionicDerp through as will as Psycho and Choco so I was back in 7th again :banghead:

From there I decided to literally drive it like I stole it and was running Psycho down on the last lap but in the end I went too hard and fell off again and that was that!

Spectacular race, very enjoyable, very clean and one I will remember for a long time! HP will definitely be back!

We add and extra lap to make sure everyone gets a time. In practice the fuel is how much to fill up. In a race it does change to how much to finish the race. I'm pretty sure it was that way even in GT5.

You could have said something about the laps before, but did you? I don't think you did, so whatever. Also, you should never trust the value it suggests for fuel; I suggest adding about 10 to 20 liters more to ensure you'll be okay. Lastly, look at my first sentence regarding not driving that extra lap.

Also, you finished ahead of me, and I had a race much worse than yours, so I think you should be proud of where you finished. I'm not trying to pick a fight, but I'm just pointing out the facts.
