Red Bull X2014 Junior.

Why is the revving indicator always flashing on the steering wheel? Shouldn't it be flashing only when reaching the rev limit to shift? It got me confused a lot...
Perhaps it's similar to the X-bow where the light blinks while you're in the power band and just shines when you've reached the shift point? idk...

You don't get it because it was not a like for like test. The video makes it look like the real setting is stronger. It does this firstly by backing off the throttle in the first demo, then in the second one the chase car is very far back for the weak setting, almost starts out out of the slip entirely.

I do get it. This isn't a direct comparison test. Its purpose was to illustrate the difference in slipstream settings to an experienced viewer, not a general scientific test. You're not looking at the right elements. The main one being speed, not the gap.

The first segment, showing me lifting, displays how strong it is in how much I have to lift to stay in place.

1.02 might be killing my ps3

as soon as i press ok to start download my ps3 reset it self

its an old 60gb fatty, not sure if its update related but yesterday it worked fine
i got new laser in on monday and new paste a last week

Its nice to see them updating the game, adding content and such.
The Red bull series seems pretty cool, just finished the karts portion, nice payout on it as well.

I see 24 minutes Nurburgring is up from 175k credits to 307k not counting the login bonus. Once logged in for 5 days in a row it should be easy to make quite a lot of credits in a short time if driving in IA or S races.

Anyone know if they changed the payout for online races ?

Wrong on two counts. It is not the first implementation, the karts also use a standing start and also have no power off the line.

Secondly I have already explained how the physics calculations are significantly cut down and told you a way you can see this for yourself. Not sure what more I can do here...
Funny, thats how I feel too. Kinda explained the reason for it. And your way to "expalin it" using what, tire smoke as your example? I'm not sure what you told me to see really? Have you raced in a room with 16 people? hell, even 15 or 14? Are you under the impression it went well? If thats your website, then I think we are pretty close to being in the same field. Programming and IT work right? Not sure how you quatify your notion that single player takes more processing power.

Red Bull X Challenge, higher prize money, and now the consecutive login bonus (latter two that's what I wanted)...that is nice! But what about stockyard glitch issue? And what about that body rigidity issue?

Maybe the slip is stronger on real, i have not tested online but in offline it is certainly weaker. However hat video shows nothing.

The "real" setting was demonstrated as having a smaller activation zone, that's another thing you're overlooking. The actual force of the tow is about the same once you're inside the slipstream, it's just the actual activation zone that's been reduced.

You will be missed.
I sign in the book of condolences, I will surely miss the little monster :(
Because of the money glitch, of course I didn´t save the replays. I don´t even have a chance to watch a video when I be reminded of it :( this is so incredibly sad!

But hey RA menu back and increased payouts 👍 👍
Hope the "real" slipstream keeps its promise, as name suggests.

I must´ve missed the "Ascari glitch"??? Well does it matter now?

*Maaa, where´s my funeral clothes???*

With the addition of the Red Bull X Challenge, what about the possible additional types of events in future updates? Maybe the *actual* endurance races? B-spec races?

I'd hate for this to sound like complaint, but increasing the payouts makes no sense given the Price of the credit packs... In interested to see where they go from here.

OP says personal music is fixed. Not for me. Menu music works fine, but my race music won't play at all.

Now I'm gonna play around with some cars because I swear I've got a ton more grip than before. That or the Speed 6 RM is just amazing

So I gotta ask is the reason they are just pouring credits at us is that their pay to win system failed? Ok that was a bit harsh but I really do wonder how successful the pay for credits were considering now they are giving them away practically?

Wow, they really took out motion blur from the replays? Perfecting a run on a course and watching it back in cockpit view with the motion blur made it much more exciting. Really sucks that they took it out.
Over the weekend a buddy of mine stopped by for a brief visit with his girlfriend. She had never played a racing sim/game before, let alone with a wheel. I put her in the Honda FIT on Sunday Cup's HSR. She was saying that she was experiencing slight motion sickness. I wonder if the extra emmer soon that we enjoy might be a problem for others. Maybe the motion blur is causing just a bit more graphical processing errors than PD wants?

Maybe this was addressed already, but was the stockyard black hole glitch fixed?

I always do a complete game save from the options menu, and have not had a car disappear. Maybe it is a coincidence, but one thing I noticed when the game updates the stockyard the automatic save is going on at the same time. The automatic game save seems to me to end before the stockyard is done saving. Perhaps the auto save does not capture all the cars? I don't know what to think, but I always hit the full save in options menu now after seeing that.

If the physics weren't cut so bad in offline as well I'd be inclined to agree with you.

Try knocking AI off their line and tell me they are running the same full on physics as the car you're driving.

Also the GPU isn't making the calculations for the AI, just interpreting what the cell has setup. If it's not creating the AI movements it's interpreting incoming packets. In the end it's just a different algorithm in each case referencing a database of attributes and object models. There shouldn't be a huge difference really.

In addition to that when offline the cell can simply track AI cars in terms of track position and render them when in view. Whatever physics are used are dropped out when they are off screen. However the online packets still come in and the cell has to discard that information (if it can or does) which still creates extra cell process cycles that aren't necessarily there during offline processing. Then compound that with the limited memory to store location data ect. Offline you could store it as a simple grid location based on a closing rate, online it has to be constantly updated from real position data vs a calculated rate.

I really am with @Rallywagon on this. It's just a difference of doing x vs y.

Edit: I may have started to just ramble there a bit, hmmmm.

Experienced that a couple of times, mostly people who don´t play PC or console games at all seem to have that problem, IMHO.

Are the AI cars more aggressive now, they don't brake when you touch them, they overtake you...it feels harder now to win the race, thats better for sure :D

I sure hope this is true. Are they still almost literally stopping at each apex?

It's so ridiculous at the lower levels of Aspec I just started using faster cars to bypass all of them right away and stay far FAR away from them. The upper levels seemed at least a little bit better.

What about the colour glitch? Sonic Blue Mica painted cars are now.... actually
Blue!

Too bad, I liked that BLACK-black.
