Hmm I already wondered why my unattended Bob finished 2nd on SSRX with a time of 6:35 instead of winning with the usual 4:05. I guess this is why. The tranmission settings got messed up indeed.

Hmmm, I'm a bit confused now. So this is not really a bug but a previous bug that has been fixed? The way most people tuned until now (FG at max => max speed at min => adjust gears => adjust FG) has been based on a bug?

If that's the case I'm not so sure it will be hotfixed. But I can fully understand players who have several hundreds of tuned cars in their garage to not be happy with this.

Good find OP. 👍

I've done a quick session of testing.
It was rather quick-fire but I think I've got the jist of it.

Tested all offline.
Free roam, Arcade, Career, and even B-Spec.
All are bugged.

Tested online.
Seasonals are bugged.
But Open lobby seems to be the only one to survive the bug.
I steered clear of Quick Match because I can't quickly test, plus it affects other players.

It seems it will hold any setting you like except for the final step of 'flipping'.
From my quick tests it holds any and every setting until the final move of Final Gear.
So you can initially move FG, adjust max speed, adjust individual gears, and it's all good.
Once you make the final move and adjust FG to where you want it, hit the track and the max.speed and FG reset themselves to default values.
And of course individual gears can probably no longer fit inside the new range so they are also altered.

Will get it reported ASAP.

The new update has a serious bug effecting ALL car transmissions.

This bug only happens when you enter the track. All other menus are safe to adjust on. It seems to be the final drive that has the bug.

Online seems to be unaffected.

Quick explanation: any car you currently own with a customizable transmission, that has had the final drive gear adjusted will reset the entire transmission to default once you enter a track.
As of right now there is no way to adjust transmissions, as every time you enter the track, the transmission gets set to default, or you lose your already... Timed consumed.. Click by click, perfect transmission.

Thanks for warning, @X3sgteX. Great job 👍 I'll wait for a hotfix before installing the update. Anyway, I'm not interested in VGTs and don't mind losing my 200% bonus as I always have enough Cr. :sly: Besides, the sun shines outside :)

If this is supposed to fix a previous bug, then why would it not apply online?

I think the real question would have been; if it's supposed to fix a bug, why does it reset tuning options to default? But obviously it's not a bug fix, it's a bug, as indicated by that facebook post.

Good work @jezboosted, cheers from the whole gt community mate lol 👍

Hopefully we won't have to wait for the next update before this gets fixed. It sounds like the sort of bug a minor hotfix could eliminate.

I just update GT6 to 1.17 and after the install I got a quick update ;
it is the hotfix ?
(I don't have time to verify , I must go to work ....:ill:)

I kinda doubt it's to "fix" a "bug" with transmission tuning. Transmission tuning has operated the same way since literally the dawn of time in GT games, so there's no reason to change it now. It made more sense when it was called "autoset" as opposed to "top speed" though.

So yeah this is great, they can't stop breaking GT6.
It's only worked this way as long as the "top speed" option has been included. Which is redundant when you have a final drive adjustment.

It worked so much better in GT1, which showed your in-gear speeds and top speed.

It's so annoying that while they add so much useless **** like the gps data visualiser, and moon missions, they remove useful stuff from previous games, like in gear speeds and top speed in trans tuning, and the actual speed testing, even though they kept the track for it. WTF PD?!

I have been experiencing problems with the top gear going to default before this update.
In reading these posts I had a quick session offline only and every time the gearbox resets to default.
I have tried gears only and not final drive, or final drive and not gears but every time will reset, even when I come out of tuning and go back the gears have reset.

Pd seriously wtf.you are seriously ticking off the drag community when you do stupid things like this.there are people who put in just as much time in tuning a transmission as some do with the suspension.i swear, they do more harm than good doing things just like liberals in politics

Yeah, sod freedom, give me my broken transmission back. :P

Wow.

At least adjusting the max speed isn't affected by this too. Otherwise, B-Spec grinding on Route X wouldn't be possible and I would be quite upset by that. But still, I occassionally like to try tunes I find online, so I hope this gets fixed ASAP.

This might spell trouble for some of the guys in my endurance event tonight...

But someone said online was immune to the bug?

It's not just final drive, its all ratios! They go back to standard.
But not all cars... My '07 Mustang remained unchanged for some reason.
I'll wait 'till the hotfix...
