Find some of the cars that have links, these links will take you to a drag tune thread in which there will be a base tune for that car. Enter the tune to the car and take it to the track =P

So, where's the V16T going? And what about the 2004 Spec C Impreza? Or am I just a tad blind again?

And can I drag your Le Mans, Dalightnin? I wanna learn from the master.

Edit: Yes, I am being a tad blind. The Spec C was in class 6…*facepalm*

And is ~156mph a good speed for a Le Mans??

Have to see if I have the V16T. Will tune it if I do.

156 is not bad! Add me and we'll find a time to do some runs 👍

Yes it's a good speed, the fastest I have seen is 159, and that was with a crazy tune.

159? I have to see it to believe it...

Yea, but I thought (from what I read somewhere) it was counter-intuitive? Like the higher the top speed, the slower you are? You see, this is why I try to stick to the basics of drag, it gets to my head sometimes

Well sometimes lol. But usually if you got a good tranny setup with no lag gear changes you got yourself a respectable trap speed.

I couldn't find the SLS on the list? Is it really that bad, or has no one tested it yet? :?:

I actually have that car tuned but forgot to add it. Thanks for the reminder :D

159 was the fastest I've ever seen, average is between 154-157. I asked the guy for his tune and I'd pay him so I could study it but he declined.

 I made a mistake with the top speed. It's something like 154 or 153, depending on the tyres and the shifts. Not too bad for a Le Mans that has only got 70 something miles on the clock and isn't even fully broken in yet :D I think. I still sucks off the line though…

You'll get it. Comes with time. I don't use mine that often but I usually peak 156 witha decent start. Still nowhere near perfect though.

Does this person have a PSN? :)

You'll get it eventually

Don't even dare to look at some of the first threads I made ;)

 Tough, had a look at the old Dalightnin, the noob Lightning :D A lot of paragraphs and hints here and there though 0.0 A lot to read through. And a lot of Mafia walking in and disagreeing

Onboy are you on PSN now? Add me or I'll add you, I'd like to run you at Indy a few times. Although I'll probably get obliviated lol

Yea, ok, I'll add you. But I think you've got that the wrong way round. I have no knowledge on tuning for circuits, leave alone tuning for pure straights.

Yea me and maf always got into little standoffs

Haha, alright. Got your FR, and added you. I'll see if I can find a good room. When i get there I'll message you on PSN.

I have one, it's a pretty decent car. Although I've never seen one dragged before. In fact, of all times I've played online, I've only seen the car once.

exhaust juice
Where on the game do you go to drag race?

Sorry for noob question.

The Road Course - Indy has a quarter mile strip where many people online drag.
Also the SS7 where many people do long drag races from the start to the end of the tunnels.
The Top Gear Test Track is also another Drag Strip that's used sometimes - lenght of the full runway on the track.

Got a new car for you to test. Monaro CV8 '04, with a basic tune I trap 145mph EASY.

Let me get this straight.

Class 1 = Best cars, but in the Class 2 field you have cars that beat the Class 1 cars?

The Mclaren F1 apparently beat all the cars in your class 1 catagory, and that would be about right, but you have it as a least likely to win Class 2 car? Then you have the Mclaren Mercedes (much slower car than the F1) classed in the Class 1.

I don't get this class system, or why you're using speed rather than time. I do know though, that the TVR Speed 12 is in a league with the Veyron, and the Mclaren F1 is certaintly faster in a drag race than most of your "Class 1" cars, even your "trap speed" would suggest so.

how would the TVR Speed 12 be in a league with the Veyron when it cant beat a GT-R in the 1/4?

the trap speed matters but not by much if your car can get to the end quick like the GT-R can thats why it is ahead of the speed 12.. even though the speed 12 has a top speed near the Veyron, it wont even be a challenge, the Veyron will smoke the 12

Tune gear ratios accordingly to start from 2nd or 3rd gear, witness the awesomeness. And according the first post the trap speed is 167mph, putting it above all the Class 1 cars?

Depends on the cars tune. He has it set up based on the likeliness of winning, and what most base tunes will accompish. Cars in class 2 may beat cars in class 1, if they have a good tune. That's what he is trying to get across.

you have already witnessed the awesomeness, my GT-R is ready i'd like to see this... tonight isnt a good time for me though ill be leaving soon...

The McLaren F1 has a horrible launch, while the Mercedes has one of the best for an RWD. And their trap speeds are less than 8mph apart...

Have you even dragged before?

Because there is no way to measure time accurately. The true 1/4 mile is a few cars lengths AFTER the shadow and how do you measure that? In cars that are less then .010 of a second apart?

+1

Many, MANY cars will beat the Speed 12...

It is obvious you have never dragged before. I wouldn't have wrote this much but it too late since I read this part last

Explain to me how at the end of the same straight, if one car is going faster it loses?

Are you doing a burnout for a few seconds before you set off? I've done plenty of drag racing in GT5, though not online in any public games. Your first post doesnt make sense.

Unless you're hanging around for half an hour playing with your balls at the start, the guy doing the highest speed at the end is generally the faster car.

Lastly 8mph is a fairly big difference.

Wow... how does someone go about responding to this in a calm manner, do you know what 4WD stands for?
