Today's acquisitions: Found some new M2 releases.

'51 Studebaker Pickup w/Snow Plow. They also had a clean version, but a dirty snow plow truck is cooler. They also had a couple of the old Chevy/GMC pickups that were painted up in park ranger colors. I passed on them, but regret leaving them behind.

And these two, well let's see if muscle car expert @Cano can guess correctly the difference between them.

I gotta say, M2's quality control is really spotty. I have to pull all the cars out and look at each one to pick out the best car with the least amount of quality issues. And I'm not sure why they insist on propping open the passenger doors on these things, but it always makes the door not want to close properly.
Those are some pretty nice cars. I'll have to look for the plow truck myself. I like it.

M2's QC's barely there. My last Studebaker truck was missing a taillight. They sure make some of the neatest models though, like that weathered snow plow truck(I have 'clean' Ford).

I currently only have five M2s in my collection. I've been wanting more quite badly. Its the $6 pricetag that turns me off. And usually by the time I get to the M2s I already have about $20 worth of Hot Wheels in the cart.

Oh come on. Black hood with hood scoop = 440 six pack, altough the wheels are incorrect, they should be all-black steelies without dog dish hubcaps. Black stripes on the hood = regular Road Runner, but I can't see the badge on the hood. Hemi? 440? 383?

You get an A for effort.

Other one is a Hemi.

Oh come on, at least a cookie. Also, if I remember correctly, some brand actually made a 440-6 car that could lift it's hood entirely like the real car:

but I can't recall who made it.

@a6m5 love the pics of the recent acquisitions. My stuff, including the ladder truck, is still in LA, at least according to the tracking, and another package from Japan Booster has joined it. Might be a fun week next week. Think I have about 16 models coming in.

The ladder truck is tremendous. Nothing else to say.

Thank you, John. 👍 I wasn't even planning on taking any pictures(until @Spacegoat twisted ma arm! lol), but man, once I started, I ended up taking probably 20 pictures of it. They are spendy, but definitely one of a kind. I SO look forward to how you feature it on Lamley!

Damn that Studebaker looks so awesome. Excellent stuff, curse you too. 👍

I'll be flying to Japan this Thursday. Hope I can find some good 1/64 stuff there, and take a photo of pegs containing TLVs.

I have no idea how I am going to do it. That ladder has to be seen fully extended, but still figuring out how to do it. I might wait until I have my first Tomicarama, but then I am just stealing your style. I will figure out the best way I hope.

@Spacegoat Look what I found:

It's a TLV!!!....... Except it's a 1/80 scale. I know you are going "darn", as did I. :D

At least it's not a 1/150 scale.

You won't find them on pegs, TLVs come in boxes! :dopey: I do wonder how retail shops stock them & display them over there though. I may have to Google this. :D

It's not like I gave it a lot of thought, but that's where I was at with the fire engine, too. With such a unique model, you'd think possibilities are endless. I'm sure you'll come up with something really awesome.

As for the Tomicarama "style" thing, while it's not anything new, and it would be a departure from what we are used to seeing from Lamley, you are not stealing anything, at least not from me! I saw other collectors using dioramas to photograph hot wheels/minicars on the internet, so that's where I got the idea. You know TOMYTEC had such scenario in mind with Tomicarama as well.

Have you ever featured dioramas on Lamley? As you are aware, when I use that Shell gas station set, all my pics are close ups of the cars. With your photography, we should still be able to see the trademark white/gray background, so you'd think it will have its own unique look? It should look really cool, at least in my head it does.

Yeah I want to feature them, but my studio is built for small models. The TLV buses barely fit. I have been brainstorming ideas on how to make more space, and hopefully some ideas work. So I will feature the new diorama, but I may have to take some pics on a table, then use it as a background. Oh, the many challenges...

I got tracking update from some cars I'm getting from Plamoya in Japan? We are used to packages getting stuck at the Customs in L.A., but this package stalled at Tokyo. For a week. I guess it just cleared, so better late than never I suppose. :(

P.S. Found this cool pic while trying to find TLV retail display in Japan:

They seem to be prototype TLVs(Left: Daihatsu Midget & Right: Mitsubishi Pet Leo). Very cool. Pic is from this mysterious blog(can't find the name, or info on the author ).

Time to rise with some ingenuity. :D

Man, while looking for images of TLV storefront, I'm running into really cool stuff that has nothing to do with TLV retail storefront. I'll try to translate the highlights later, but TLV interview with the TBS radio(from theTLV radio broadcaster series), also with the chief from the Toyota Crown design team, filled with the types of interesting insights we were exposed to in that last interview we saw. Good stuff.

Can we buy a Today G for @Nessy? Awesomeness would insure.
Why, does he drive one? I didn't even remember the name of the car, but since it's 1/150 scale, we could probably mail one to his house in a envelope.

@a6m5. If by "darn" you mean a much ruder word that I can't repeat here? Then, yes. Such a cool looking van, had a no idea that TLV did smaller scales. Nice finds. 👍

Yeah, they seem to do lot of "HO" scale? No, get your mind out of the gutter, but I think that train/diorama scale.

HO scale/HO gauge? Funny you should mention a model train scale size, because I'm working with a couple of model train locomotives right now.
