And now that I remember, I also have that Trans Am but with decent wheels, and one of the Sierras, but issued bny Hot Wheels, in Shell livery and with the chinese car-like wheels.

Looked the Sierra up and while I knew Hot Wheels released some of the Corgi castings I had no idea they used their wheels too. I'm guessing they only did this for their earlier releases of Corgi cars.

Doing well you are, young Padawank.

Thanks Obi Wank, I try my best

AHahaHa very well played, my friend. Have more stuff as a reward:

Hm. Scratch the last bit.

Anway, Here are the cars my buddy gave me, (so now I owe him):

The packages are crushed so I have no option but to take them out and play with them.
hey what brand are those, in the Orange package. The Renault peaks my interest

Matchbox you're doing it right...

My dear Nvrrespected,

The vehicle in question is made by Majorette, from the Collection Racing II, produced in Thailand, and is labelled as a ROCKERS Camion 4X4. The base is stamped with 1:64.

With respect,
Harry. :)

There's no damage to the plastic and no marks that would indicate it being cut off. I thought about the possibility of it being an error, but the rivet is too short for that. It broke off.

A half-error half-prototype. More rare than freshly slaughtered livestock.

dydo ferrari 375f1

Sadly I haven't figured out what year Dydo made these things in.

Thank you sir.

Yeah, I'm really digging that one in black. Looks great.
It's supposed to be in the next case of matchbox cars. Looks to me like maybe they're returning to great real models and less fantasy, though I wouldn't mind more like the meter maid.

Also that F1 classic. That's amazing. I love those old school race cars.

That is the most amazing car to ever hit this thread as a classic die-cast model, you hoser.
If you get less than 50 likes, tell me, I'll send the guys out with the clarions. That's a nice piece of work.
Questions - Soft tires? As in hollow or solid rubber? Can you see through the spokes or is it faux?
I see the windshield as opaque, yes? Are you covered in jelly, no?

Thank you sir.

There was a great war that began between Matchbox and Hot Wheels enthusiasts that only turned worse after Mattel took over MBX - and even though Mattel made it public that they would honor the great Matchbox traditions (real cars, and cars to scale) I was dismayed (as would all MBX purists would be) that Mattel is forcing fantasy vehicles into the MBX line.
There are Matchbox collectors out there that wouldn't touch a Hot Wheels with a 10 foot barge pole; they're still angry that Mattel took them over. :D

Also that F1 classic. That's amazing. I love those old school race cars.

There's something about an open-wheel old-school cigar-shaped race car especially in that red or British Racing Green that captures the heart of any race car driver, virtual or otherwise. It's in our DNA to react to it.
People have died in cars like that.
We still want to climb in and slam the pedal to the metal.

Oh! hey, Never R - I misread your question - I thought you were asking me about the Camion, but when I read back it seemed you were more interested in the Renault - so as suitable punishment for such disrespect :dopey: I went off and dug into my photos and fished these out so you could have a better look at it:

The smaller one is a Hot wheels.

Here's another from that same collection:

Ahh. Those are so nice. I adore Rally cars. Probably my most favorite type of racing.

66 Fairlane, road tripping -
This one slightly reminds me of old NASCAR, like when it first started. Probably the giant 12 on the roof. .

57 Chrysler 300C - interesting color scheme. Way cool car.

IMAG0855_1_zps6dfe3352.jpg~320x480

So I don't normally buy the pop culture cars but this one is Groot, so I wanted it. Especially cool it's his original design, not the newer ones

IMAG0856_1_zps74e81d31.jpg~320x480

56 F100 - this is a road trip car. But to me, probably the best one I've seen design wise. It doesn't really look as much like one as the others. The name isn't all big on it or anything .Looks more like a hot rod that the shop did as like a display piece. Very cool

So this is pretty exciting. I got a Tomica.

IMG_7078.jpg

Pretty cool, huh?
Even cooler when you realize it's pretty damn old.

IMG_7080.jpg

It looks like it could have been released this year. Don't know if that's proof of old Tomica quality or if it's proof that just maaaybe changing the wheels to a design not from the seventies might be a good idea by now. :P

IMG_7081.jpg

Totally mint with no chips whatsoever.

IMG_7082.jpg

Metal bases make me happy.

IMG_7087.jpg

The box is worn but in decent condition.
I'm not sure when this Corolla was released exactly. The first No. 78 car from Tomica was released in 1973 and that was a Nissan Cedric. After that came an Accord and then this Corolla, so if they released a different car each year (which I'm not sure of) this must have been released in 1975.

I'm not sure about the yellow/orange stripe though. It looks out of place so my guess is someone added it, but at the same time it's pretty high quality. Made of a thin material, applied straight and it doesn't seem like a waterslide decal to me. If that was the case it'd probably fall apart by now with no clear coat. Doesn't help I can't find any pictures of this exact color Tomica anywhere.
Leaning towards it being added later, but I'm really not sure.

Dang Apok, that is mint AND beautiful. It is a lovely Corolla for sure, and the extra decals definitely add to its coolness. The origins of that stripe are iffy at best, as it could be either a special version or a customized car, but nevertheless, it doesn't really ruin the car for me. Could we say that you bought a rare breed of custom-but-not-really-custom Tomica? :sly:

And if that car was made in the late 1970's then yes, Tomica should really consider changing their wheel castings for the current basic Tomica lines. It nearly fooled me, that's for sure. Another fine job from you, Padawank.

I'm now almost positive it's a 'custom'. Guess I should have posted it in the other thread.
Though honestly I think I'll remove the stripe eventually. It really looks out of place.

Hey, it's up to you. You could always take off the stripe and post pictures of the car without it, if you're feeling lucky.
And yes, while it was well-executed for a custom stripe, it does feel like it doesn't belong in the car. I give whoever did that credit however, it could've been worse.

Dydo come unassembled. There is the body, window, interior, axles that already have the free-rolling wheels attached, and last but not least, the tires.

Spokes are faux. They did a great job getting in those details, and covering it with chrome really helps strengthen its illusion.

The window is sadly opaque.

No it's too early to be covered with jelly. That's for another time.

Woah-- Where do you find F1 and Rally Cars??! O:

It's surprising to see you here, Nas. If I had to guess, Mr. photon either bought those cars online (the most likely choice), found them at a flea market, or bought them from a good ol'fashioned supermarket with Matchboxes.
Expect a mega post with NASCAR cars in the near future.

Is there a website that sells these?

Dude, I cringe just by thinking how much that cost you

Now, Tomica included decals with some cars that were indeed applied straight on, they were stickers in all the sense of the word, but I sadly don't know if that car ever had something like that. I'd find it strange since that was mostly with race cars. You should dig up a bit before taking it off.

But what a grab, big thumbs up, worth every penny. And with a black box no less. Awesome.

For Adding to it, this casting was the subject of heavy ripping off during the 80s. I have some of its copies somewhere I'm sure, but I don't know where lol. But every kid I knew had a rip off of this car when I was a brat. I'll look for mine and tag you with pics.

Yeah, that's always been in the back of my mind. It's been applied later, but was it included maybe? If it was included with the car then I may just keep it.
Will look around more for sure.
