159 Tipo.

grabbed a second one for the mods. I'll be aiming for something close to the HW Hall of Fame Ferrari 156.

I think mine was all beige.
Picked up these two Real Riders. Saw the redlines, but no Skyline.
Is it a Kenmeri that you are after? I'm after one too & that Chevy Gasser. Good luck....... Almost 100% of our retailers will stock a billion Star Wars cars, but Heritage series is nearly completely ignored. :indiff:

I did find the Hakosuka Skyline at Walmart couple months ago. Somebody hid it, too. In his/her face!!(probably some kid who couldn't reach back on the peg lol).
Previously released version from Johnny Lightning for reference.
To be honest, even that much detailing is surprising. :D

I've come close to getting that one sometime ago. That front end tampo thing, it just didn't sit well with me.

I found the Superbird Super Treasure Hunt today! This is our 11th Super this year, and they're all legit. All found in dump bins, displays or on the pegs.

Nice haul - I collect Superbirds and would have loved to see that one on a peg.

I found something better than a T hunt. Went to a hobby/comic store that was in Kalamazoo MI. They had two small isles of hot wheels, one had 90s cars that I buy from my local hobby shop the other had 2006-2010 cars which I bought 5 View attachment 486695
2008 Datsun 510, 2006 Chevy fleetline, 2010 92 mustang, 2008 88 Monte Carlo, and a 2008 69 chevelle they had a ton more but they were $2 a car.
Then at a Target where I got the error Ferrari on a 914 card I found theseView attachment 486696
There were a 2010 67 Pontiac firebird 400, 2011 Buick grand national, 2008 Camaro convertible and a new snowflake card Camaro concept.

What's your car count now? Heading into the 1000s? :D

Are we talking about 510s?

View attachment 486730

I put a whole bunch of 510s up as a prize in one of the GT6 AI Hub events. The pegs were usually loaded here and I picked up multiples of several variations which I also gifted to friends. Somehow a 510 gets immediate love.

Maybe time for another Hot Wheels:

Or two. Or three. ;)

Oh! Okay. More.

Wait. We can't forget MBX. So I'll show you what was in that 'Cars/SUVs' Box:

Now all packed and put away in the box till the next touchy-feely eyeball-candy orgy. There's space for another layer - maybe two.
Ignore Lightning McQueen; he's just a busybody.

So I have to keep shopping. Here's some of the latest purchases:

I didn't do a recent inventory check but I'm guessing that I'm pretty close to or passed 1,000. I'm gonna be quickly running out of space since I found that hobby store in Kalamazoo. I love the 2006-2011 hot wheels and they had a lot, I'll get a pic of the stores inventory the next time I go.

I love the older HWs, too, and find it hard to resist a pre-2000 card. I have a large collection of cars still in cars from the 90s and some from the 80s. having a hobby store, or second-hand goods store nearby is a killer.
The 'swap' shop close to be just got in a whole shelf of 1:24 NASCAR models - authentics - yet another collector giving up the ghost, I guess - and they were going for 25.00 each. Looked mint. They rarely get miniature models though - so I'm out of luck finding older models that way.
Sure I can do the internet thing but I find that really really boring when it comes to satisfying my 'thrill of the find' urge.
Just the other day I grabbed a Stratos I never had off the peg as I flew through the aisles in a hurry - and that put a smile on my face all day. :)

One thing about your expanding collection: organise now. Keep control of it - or you'll end up living single like most collectors I know.

It was the Kenmeri. What's bad is that I actually found it in the same Target I got the two RR's, however, I left it on the pegs. Mostly because I didn't want to deal with the inconvenience that was the gigantic line near the registers. (This was the day before Thanksgiving) It was bad to the point where they had a rope set up. I'll be honest though, not the biggest loss, I suppose.

You guys think this Tomica's worth $14? Must. Buy. All. MS60-series Crowns!

$14 sounds pretty reasonable to me. Cool find, digging the colour. 👍

TLV Wrecker/Tow Truck rock. I'm deeply sorry that your Nissan Service version don't have the rotating lights. :P

Just kidding, I love mine & I'm sure you love yours, too! :D

I've done that before. It was the blue '60-something Camaro, Boulevard Series hot wheel. I never saw it on the pegs again. Many months later, I FINALLY found one online for price I would pay. I uncard it &the roof was bent on it. Never again!

I was deeply sorry about that too! But now I've actually got the model in my hands, I'm okay with it not having them after all. Because as you well know, it's just so damn cool.

No, it is awesome. Much props to TLV for the recolor/re-release. 👍 If anybody want to check out the original we are talking about, I have some pictures here(also with Greenlight hitch&tow!).

Comparison: AUTOart vs. Kyosho

Model: Porsche Carrera GT

23184490560_ab314589f2_c.jpg

The AUTOart model's front air intakes are more accurate. The Kyosho model has rather square-ish intakes, but it makes up for correct headlights and the width of the front bumper.

22851951314_18536e757e_c.jpg

Side profiles: Ride heights of both cars are decent, but the AUTOart is slightly shorter in length. When it comes to rims though, AUTOart takes the win.

23480271865_0c42e5346c_c.jpg

Rear view: The tire width of the Kyosho model is correct, while the AUTOart almost has Prius-esque tire widths. But the tables shall turn when it comes to the entire rear end. The AUTOart model's taillights are on the right size for the scale, and as well as the placement of the rear spoiler which is actually molded to the casting as compared to the detachable spoiler on the Kyosho (which could also be a plus, depending on your opinion)

Paint quality: This is where the Kyosho takes the trophy. AUTOart 1/64 paint quality can sometimes be questionable, as the paint can chip off quite easily (particularly in the Ford GT and Carrera GT castings). On the other hand, Kyosho 1:64s have durable paint on their castings, especially the early ones.

Bonus: The Kyosho model is actually the revised version. The first release was the one without the roof, with a rather odd egg-shaped casting and as well as a wobbly windshield (my pet peeve on convertible castings).

Winner: KYOSHO

With Kyosho revising some models lately like this Carrera GT, it goes to show that the company does take criticisms to heart and makes sure that improvements are on the way. Plus, AUTOart has completely stopped making 1/64 scale models, so there is no hope for an improvement.

Gonna colour in some stuff :P
You know I love you, but I hope you get banned.

:P

I hope I can find one locally. It's one of those I wouldn't necessarily buy online, pay the shipping, but I'd love to get one(it's worth like $2, $3 to me).

Took a trip to Walmart to try my luck at finding the perfect nail polish to fix a big Yatming Corvette Stingray.

Luck was on my side. It didn't get me the colour I needed, but it got me this Porsche I kinda wanted. :P

Cheap thrills. :mischievous:

BTW - @AOS- send me the list of MBXs you're going to get rid of - via Convo. Sorry - kept forgetting to ask you (sidetracked.)

Here's what most of it is like
The last pic is all metal bodied cars. I'll post the full collection that's in my room tomorrow .

That's pretty much what my room (and then my home) looked like in the early days.
And then it got out of hand . . . .

My storage/recovery/access/playtime routines are a lot better now.
Dust is the other problem with cars laid out in the open to be viewed all the time. Unless you're playing a lot. Then you'll be just raising dust anyway - who cares.

@RCKakashi14 - really great post - the kind that makes this thread come alive.
I guess I'm kind of tired seeing it bumped everyday with pics swiped off the net.

Now you got me really scratching my head over the two.
I'd go for the autoART but the Kyosho is doing damn well to compete in that league. Amazing job. 👍

Most of my cars on my bookcase have a lot of dust this is how big my room is from my doorimage.jpeg
It's enough to live in but is getting small car space wise. The wood floor was added last summer same with the fan, it was carpet before my room gets hot in the summer and is on the back left corner of my house.
