I was kinda hoping that it was the new, lower MSRP, but maybe it was just Walmart stock. I wonder if they will have new inventory come in at the new lower price. :D
Maybe. And come to think of it, my TRU had none that I was interested in.

I forgot to share this pic earlier. Looking out from my cubile:

Supra's been on there for while, 180SX I picked up at Walmart during lunch(avoid their BBQ Chicken!). Notice the professional grade paperclip stands I made with my bare hands. 👍

Bro.... You've been Tokyo Drifting way too hArD!!!! :D

I think the one I picked up today was actually my fourth one? When it first came out, I bought three(2 for moi, 1 for my buddy). I saw bunch of these again today & I couldn't fight picking up one more, this time to have it at my work desk(work desk lol). Actually, I just looked at another pic I took of it & it's not clean at all(b-pillar).

Here's my first one from my blog. Looks much neater.

My last picture shows the other side, but it's rude, so I can't(Paul Walker joke that's too soon lol).

Paperclip thing is super easy, you just bend the open-ended part once!

Went through a bin of 2016 cars... saw that red F-Type. I was almost sold on the white horizontal stripe, but nah it didn't happen. There was also the red Tesla and a dozen Hudsons.. not a single $TH. :(

Came out with the next Firebird and Clear Speeder. Good enough. Was supposed to go get rustproofing done on the car, but they weren't open today sadly.

@a6m5 That's a cool truck... because of the mud an all.

I haven't posted in awhile. I haven't purchased much either. But here's the interesting stuff.

Agreed. Especially the Greenlight Ramcharger. I have one, too. Sweet livery! 👍

Last month or two, my sucky Walmart actually came through with two dump bin loads. I had no luck yesterday(when I picked up another 180SX), but on the first one, I found I think my only the third $uper Treasure Hunt(ever lol).

More pics on my blog

It's the one I've been wanting too, so I was very happy. :D

Thank you. 👍 You may remember Bertrand from that "Our First TLV" article. It was his post that made me want one. Unfortunately, it must've been an older release, because I had really hard time locating one at a reasonable price. I still had to shell out $14 & change, and from Germany.

Nice haul. A couple of good ones in there.

Those better be HW paperclips you're using.

Where did you get the diorama background for the monster truck shots?

I have read your blog a bit - don't know if you answered this question there.

How many variations of this do you have, Ken? Is it a random or do you look out for the variations it comes in?

:(:(

Thought you might have more that I could see.

I don't want to see what's on the internet - I want to see yours. That's one of my favourite castings so if I see one on a peg I don't have I'll grab it. I'll put a pic of the ones I have later.
What particular model do you have the most of? When I say model - not just particular year but several years of it - for instance I have a large collection of Corvettes from many brands spanning several model years.
Great sight when they're all lined up.

Congrats @a6m5. I love that one.
Thanks man. 👍 When going thru the pegs, I always hope to see a $TH, but when I do finally run into one, I still end up doing a double take.
Just now realized how he opened the blister pack. :boggled:

But anyway its definitely a new way to do it. 👍
I do that when I may be saving the blister. I learned it from someone in here. It wasn't @Ameer67 was it? I can't remember.

It's actually a half of TLV parking lot set, connected to the Shell gas station set. I did blog about it here.

Just bookmarked your blog - looks very interesting; must go through at leisure with a cup of tea and a jar of jelly.
So far I've resisted buying pre-made diorama sets - I did get a couple from Tomica, (a gas station I featured in the diorama thread, and a train with some tracks and people) but as is they aren't really good; need to be dressed for more 'realness'.
Tomica were quite famous for diorama stuff but I don't see them focus on that too much now.
Which is a shame- I'm sure there is a fair market for it.

Wait, what did I do? I don't have a clue what you're talking about.
My mistake.

TLV do great dioramas, but once they discontinue a set, price doubles, or more & really fast. I wouldn't pay secondary market price for them, unless I'm getting one as a collector of such sets. They'd make expensive backdrop!
First thing that comes to mind is making windows for customs. :indiff:

But I wouldn't know who's idea it was either.
Yup, they'd be of use for customs. Me, I use them as sleeves inside hot wheel storage cases, inside individual compartment.

My mistake.

.

The older diorama sets they had were way better scaled and had great variety - they don't seem to make those anymore. While I haven't had one in my hands they seem good quality just from the pics.
And you're right - the only way to get them would be off the internet and probably used (or bought to prove Adam Smith's definitions of 'Use-Value' and 'Value' and sold for much higher than they originally sold for.)

The older diorama objects they made were more geared to adult collectors - and especially HO modellers. Nowadays the diorama sets that are produced are more for kiddie-play - tough and durable but clunky and out of scale.
I gotta admit you do real well with them and always bring the beauty of your models out in the way you use your sets.
Props to you. ;)

Wow am I seeing things or is that the Speed Machines Tesla? That's at least $8 now.

I'm playing with an eight-dollar toy? :boggled:

*puts Tesla away in vault.

Thanks Harry. Unlike Andy & other guys, I lack photography skills, so I cheat with the gimmick. :P
