I'm not sure if anyone really collects them any more but Micro Machines are back!!

Only problem is they seem to only be doing Star Wars ones for now.I would be cool for them to do real cars again and maybe some new castings. I would love to collect them from scratch this time!
I like both colors, but I think I'd go with green out of the two? I have black, and also the Australian Rally version, but my next one is going to be the red "Japanese Car Era" one. I'm missing just two from that series, and the Crown's one of them.I've got an idea for a collection "series" I'm starting, but I'd like some help with one choice.... I want to collect each generation of the Toyota Crown! However, Japan Booster is (still) having a sale and there's two colors I'm interested in, but I'm not sure which one would be better.
Nevermind, both of the listings are gone.I like both colors, but I think I'd go with green out of the two? I have black, and also the Australian Rally version, but my next one is going to be the red "Japanese Car Era" one. I'm missing just two from that series, and the Crown's one of them.
Just so you know, you can PM him with stuff like that. His name's Akiyo(really good guy), and he says he loves sourcing cars that he doesn't have listed. Rare and/or old stuff that he could run into problems with, but for something common like the Crown(s), it should take him just few days. AmiAmi still show them, too. With the weak yen right now, you could get a real nice deal on them.Nevermind, both of the listings are gone.![]()
I did notice the quality is different. Bought an earlier Skyline and it doesn't seem quite as close as the current quality. Maybe I should wait? >_>Shame that those early TLVs were pretty crude compared to what the line became. They need to re-issue the 40-series Crown as they did with the 1st-gen Cedric.
I loved this one so much I ended up ordering the second one from the Taiyo ni Hoero series. I thought it was just different color, but they actually have different detailing. I'll let you know more when I get it(it's in L.A. right now).

I ended up picking up the Falken Porsche, too. Very cool. 👍Both castings are unbelievably impressive for a Hot Wheels
I guess they had to start somewhere, but I totally agree. I just received my first Publica from the Japan Booster(eBay seller) Black Friday Sale, and while I adore Publica, that is exactly why it took me so long to finally get one(and the price: $8.50).Shame that those early TLVs were pretty crude compared to what the line became. They need to re-issue the 40-series Crown as they did with the 1st-gen Cedric.
I recently bought couple of used vintage Skylines. I was pretty happy with the quality, at least on these two.I did notice the quality is different. Bought an earlier Skyline and it doesn't seem quite as close as the current quality. Maybe I should wait? >_>
Ah, you still have the Crown. 👍 Yeah, you couldn't go wrong between AmiAmi & Japan Booster. 👍You know I own a 60-series Crown, so I had to get as many as possible.(Although I didn't get that version you're talking about) Still have the older Tomica Limited black sedan as well.
I'll look into it, I was mostly considering it as they were on sale. But I forgot Amiami might still be another option.
I wasn't too sure about the Z initially, but I've seen more pics of it & I think it's grown on me. I hope I can find one soon, too!Scored a walmart with 4 dump bins that didn't look like they've been touched... FINALLY found the Z (3 of em) and 2 of the TH Rip Rods...
I would have gone straight to management. Actually, I take that back, I would have given him a piece of my mind right then and there, THEN went to management. My one friend who's a collector (he's in his late 20s) said he got scolded by an older employee for looking through a dump bin. He said it was one of those divided ones and he was in the process of emptying out the one section into another in an effort to make it easier to look through the first section and the employee said "you know, if you're gonna hog all this stores Hot Wheels the least you could do is bring your kids with you but then again you probably don't have any since there's no females anywhere near you."
My friend said he gave the employee a dirty look, put back every last thing in his cart and walked out of the store.
That's pretty much the same exact thing I said. My friend (we'll just call him Jack since that's his name and it'll make things easier) said that had it not been for the store being the only Walmart that he knows of in his area, he would've done something like that.I would have gone straight to management. Actually, I take that back, I would have given him a piece of my mind right then and there, THEN went to management.
RobinSome good news

That's what I do, grab a cart and start throwing them in. I've had people comment "you buying all of those?". My answer is always "nope, this is the only way to get to the bottom". Never had any employee issues though.I had similar expirence in the store I hit the other day... the bin was so full I went and grabbed a cart and pretty much emptied the bin into the cart... one manager was giving me a very dirty look and told me "you can't do that" to wich I replied with an elevated finger and continued digging... as I emptied the cart back into the bin the stockers in the toy section started laughing and digging with me...
Personally, I'd let it ride. I almost feel sorry for miserable people like that. It's almost funny too, because in my neck of the woods, I've actually had ladies start chatting up with me, or start looking through pegs & dump bins with me, so in your face, loser store guy!My one friend who's a collector (he's in his late 20s) said he got scolded by an older employee for looking through a dump bin. Sounds like your pic may have different perspective than other casual observer though. I don't come in here everyday, so I'm not sure if I've seen any pics of that Z in here, but that's on me.@a6m5,
I wasn't sure about it either but as a certified Z-car NUT it was on my must have list regardless...
after having my hands on it the only issues I have with it are the fact that they've put a skyline style tail light panel in place and they should have put the headlight covers for G-nose on it... (irritating that the standard 240Z from a couple years ago has the covers with bulk open grill but the aero friendly G-nose is lacking them)
I can try to get some decent pics if someone wants but I figured enough of us have posted pics that they'd be a waste of bandwidth
Yeah that kinda luck? It doesn't happen to me.Personally, I'd let it ride. I almost feel sorry for miserable people like that. Same. Some may give me dirty looks, but I've never seen it, because my eyes are fixed on the cars. It's a disease.I myself have yet to have anything other than a happy "someone must be a collector" come out of an employee's mouth.
Welcome to Oregon.Yeah that kinda luck? It doesn't happen to me.![]()

*Giggles*
For me it's rare that an employee even walks near me when I have my head in a bin or at the pegs. But when it does happen at the pegs it's usually whenever cars are getting knocked down left and right because of how tightly packed they can be.Same.
