Found the Hotwheels Fairlady Z and the Simpson's family car today at the local Walmart. I was rather happy. I've been looking the Simpson car for months now.

Guess I'll make a Wally World stop on the way home from work.

The one here had cars from seemingly every case that's been released in the last four months. Three dump bins, stocked pegs, and small bins down every major aisle with other holiday toys.

Well wad'yaknow, I found that Fairlady today as well (2 in fact). Spent 20 minutes in a giant box passing up the 5 blue NSXs, 3 orange Huracans, 3 Gulf Ford GT LMs, and 3 dozens of mainline Teslas.

My local store had a huge metal bin overflowing with old cars last time I was there, so I've stayed away.

These had a good mixture of old and new. They had probably five boxes of the newest case out. The even had plenty of MBX, GL, and M2s stocked and ready to go. It was a nice switch from only have a half empty dump bin and nothing on the pegs. It was nice to do a little bin diving for a change.

I don't know what I want more out of that set:

1) The set to be scarce so I have more reason to find and keep them carded for a future sale.
2) Be so accessible I can easily find them all locally, but never hope to sell for a decent profit in the future.

I just want to be able to get the whole set, which more than likely won't happen around here. So off to eBay I will go where the prices will be 10x retail.

Anyway, Walmart stop was successful. Picked up x3 Fairlady Z (1 for collection, 1 for custom, 1 for co-worker) and x1 Porsche 356A.

That Simpson car is rare here too, but I did find one. I've yet to see any Z or the Porsche.

On the Japan Historic set, that 510 wagon I think is the best looking 510/Bluebird wagon so far. RX-3, Hakosuka & 2000GT should be automatic buy for me. Kenmeri, love the casting, but as I mentioned last time, that nasty Japan police-looking(because it's not) livery might scare me off. I don't know.

It's also interesting note that the series is called "Japan Historics", but JDM names like "Bluebird", or "Savanna" are nowhere to be seen. Just an observation.

So I got these 3 in the mail today, paid $4 for all three but shipping was $7 (Amazon)... Is that normal to pay more for shipping then the actual cars?

On mainlines, good chance. The Toy Peddler is a good site for mainlines, too.
Facebook's been really annoying with people sharing and freaking out over custom made ones with their custom packages. :grumpy:
I happened to be looking up something on eBay when I ran into this.

Had Mattel come up with this design, it would've been one coveted car from me. Had they installed red light on the top, it would've been one of those "money no object" car. :D

Eeeew, ugly as spitting in church.
I think it looks bad ass, not to mention that unlike the Kenmeri from HW Japan Historics, it's actually pretty close to Japanese patocar(patrol car) livery.

@Cano - How do you put Advan print like that on the sidewall?

I'd make decals or stamps.

I think it looks badass with the wheels, but I'd take out the "POLICE" text on it then.

Yes. For me, there needs to be a give and take:

1) Stock wheels and Police livery
2) Red custom wheels with no Police prints.

Alternatively, had it been uncolored chrome wheels, I'd be perfectly okay with what we have right now.

I got myself an AutoArt Bugatti Veyron yesterday (1:64 scale of course!) and it's a beautiful little car. Paid $30 dollars for it though...:scared:

Mmhh.. never done it, but it'd be white-paper decals (or maybe even glue paper decals as AOS suggested, because God knows if waterdecal paper will stick to rubber -I'd say no) with the borders painted black with a sharpie, paste, cover with Future, clear coat in flat clear, there's your lettered tire.

I can get back to you on this as I ordered tire print decals for 1:18s.

Didn't even know they made that in this scale!

I don't know what you said, but the Mazda's amazing.
Do like the red wheels but it needs to lose the tacky Advan & GReddy tampo's on the side.
I love them too!

I paid something like that. Beautiful. I had to settle for the blue one though. I want the black/red. Which color did you get?

:scared: More involved than I imagined.
Also this, @a6m5

The canadian knows.
For me, not necessarily. Sometimes just winging it works(personal taste here, obviously).

I can vouch that the water slide decals will stick to some rubbers, I've used them on a couple of my custom monster trucks as well as a couple sets of R/C car tires...

Are they pre-made? If so then yeah they'll stick, it's the same as with white letters for 1:24 plastic kits, they're made for that. But making them yourself? That's a different story. That's why...

This is cool. Thanks for the input, will experiment with both methods anyway 👍
