Finally found the Z, even though I'm over with HW. I just had to buy it since the my little Blackbird is lonely:

Go with the flow. Having said that, here's the AUTOart Bugatti I linked earlier:

I don't even want to know how much that costs, because it is simply one gorgeous Bugatti scale model for its size. It helps that your lighting really brings out the metallic finish in the car's paint, and when AUTOart did a formidable job with it, you can really tell it's worth the price of admission. The detailing on the engine bay is just more icing on the sushi.👍

It's just a shame that if I wanted one, both that price and the car's availability are not so easy to stomach around here...

I still saw plenty of them on sale in the AUTOart store in HK two weeks ago. Shame that I didn't bother picking it up, since I was too busy glorifying the 1:43 McLaren P1 I brought to the cashier for purchase.

Well there's my first problem; a) I can't afford to go to HK (some aren't made of moolah like you, y'know :P) and b) there's no such thing as an AUTOart store in Portugal...

That's what you get for letting Rob's spirit take over your mind. :P Still, look on the bright side; it's money that you can save for bigger Bugatti models, right?

Me, too. Thanks Andy, you big stud. 👍

Ageed. Amazing, but way too much money.

Agreed. Amazing, but way too much money.

FTFY. :sly:

But putting that minor grammar mishap aside, it is true, the Veyron makes its owner pay dearly for that wonderful quality. But then again, it is an AUTOart model after all, so such a thing is to be expected, quite frankly...

I think I'll stick to dreaming about TLVs for the time being. It's amazing how affordable those become once you realize that AUTOart makes models in similar sizes... Money magic! :dopey:

How is the AUTOart compared to other makes (Kyosho, Minichamps, TLV...)? It really seems like a steep steep price for a 1/64 model. Especially a civilian one.

Yes, the price is steep but you're buying a model with an AUTHENTIC Bugatti box and an insane level of detail up there with Tomica Limited Vintage. Not to mention that AutoArt 1:64's are very hard to come by.

And that's why I was wondering, because you can get most TLV's for a lot less than the price of the Bugatti (at time of release anyway).

Not trying to say anyone made a bad purchase though, I paid through the nose for some of my stuff I really wanted (mint Polistil Renault 5 with box comes to mind )

Found the Zamac Surf Crate while out grocery shopping today. Yes, I still like Hotwheels. When you're on a very strict budget, $1 cars is where's it at.

Quality is way up there.

I know that there's been sentiments that it's somehow the dollar car against the premium cars, but imo I think most people enjoy collecting both. I know I do. *shrug*

I enjoy collecting both. There's something to the hunt of a rare Hotwheels that is quite desirable. It's annoying at times, but when you find the one you're after, it's satisfying. I just don't find that with the premium brands. But I like the premium models more. It's six one way, half dozen the other. So why not both?

You know what's funny, the bins at my local Walmart have been kept full for a while now. I still keep seeing cars such as the yellow BMW M4 and even the yellow Corvette C7R while seeing newer stuff like that Datsun I bought. I at this point probably could have bought more than 1 of certain cars I have if I wanted to.

EDIT:
I also kinda want to try collecting aw world cars, they're a bit more expensive, but I like their selection a bit.

I have a few (maybe 15-20) Autoworlds in my collection. They aren't bad at all. There no Kyoshos, but they are worth the money in my opinion.

That Simpson car is rare here too, but I did find one. I've yet to see any Z or the Porsche.

On the Japan Historic set, that 510 wagon I think is the best looking 510/Bluebird wagon so far. RX-3, Hakosuka & 2000GT should be automatic buy for me. Kenmeri, love the casting, but as I mentioned last time, that nasty Japan police-looking(because it's not) livery might scare me off. I don't know.

It's also interesting note that the series is called "Japan Historics", but JDM names like "Bluebird", or "Savanna" are nowhere to be seen. Just an observation.
I found a few at Meijer. It seems to be one of the more common pop culture cars where I live. Needless to say, I picked it up. An excellent casting.

I would say that Lambo is the best looking matchbox I've seen in years...
except I just returned home with a matchbox GT40Mk1 that is by far the most accurate and detailed GT40 I think I've ever seen!
*pics later must eat first*
I really wish Mattel would/could give Matchbox some more love. Their GT40 and Lambos are amazing. They probably could do a much better job with GT race cars and motorcycles than Hot Wheels.

I have 2 at the moment; a Mercury Cougar and a 4th Gen Firebird and I thought they looked nice for the value aswell.

Of course, before I do that, I'm going to need to fix up my room a bit; I need some storage space.

Eldorado I posted few pages back. Seriously.

I've liked Auto World from the beginning, but man, Eldorado seems like a game changer to me. Great casting & detailing seemed perfect!

P.S. I agree with you guys on the $3 Auto World cars. Great for the money.
