That is one of the most satisfying things I've even seen on a diecast model.
The Ramcharger top? If anybody in here doesn't have one, definitely add it to your wishlist. It's a worthy addition to say the least. đź‘Ť

@Spacegoat - I wanna see this on your roster by Spring. Don't disappoint me.

lol
Got these three a few days ago. Happy about finding two Matchboxes.

I gave that green Firebird to my nephew... but for some reason, he won't take it home. Just last Saturday, I bring up how cool the car looks, and he agrees, but it's still here & still in the blister. I think he wants me to uncard it. And keep it. :P Great looking car!

Found these today.

Redlines, blazer, nova and gto at a Meijer, Volkswagen 5 pack at a target. It was the only one they had.

I finally took new pictures of TLV Super Silhouette Skyline I've had forever.

While blogging, I came up with an idea of doing ten "Desert Island" 1/64 cars. I've just come up with it, but I'm hoping to make it similar to the "Our First TLV" post. In that post we featured @RCKakashi14 , @Spacegoat , @MedigoFlame , @Nessy , @AOS- , @R1600Turbo , @Daniel008 , @Cano from this community & their first TLVs.

With the Desert Island concept, it would be any 1/64 cars, so it's open to not just TLV collectors, Hot Wheel collectors, etc., but everyone from this community, and any 1/64 cars. I would be so appreciative of anyone willing to participate in this. Share what your top ten cars are, and short note describing how it makes your top ten. I say "short" note, but it can be as long as you like.

Hopefully we will have enough collectors interested in participating(Please!) I will be creating convo thread for this soon. :)

Northern or southern hemisphere spring? :dopey:

I'll have to have a serious think about this one. It's going to be real tough narrowing it down to only ten.

Any particular reason why you chose the words "Desert Island"?
I don't know what else they are called. Back in the day, when people started doing this, I think it was like if you are going to be stuck on a desert island, can take with you only ten of this or that, what will you choose?, hence "desert island". I think it implies your final, ultimate top ten.

Well played.

Same here. Top ten toy cars.... Except we take our toy cars very seriously.

Super in. Altough it will be hard... specially since, when collecting older cars, it's as much as the casting as it is it's condition...

I doubt it'll be a easy process for any seasoned collectors. So glad you are onboard! :embarrassed::tup:

So that everybody gets their just deserts. :dopey:

Eh, might as well jump in with this thread. My dad and I have collected various racing memorabilia over the years, including 1:64 die-casts, particularly of Indycars. This is some of what we got:

Well since you asked... I've got two for ya now! The first one is Parnelli Jones' 1963 Indy 500 Winning Car. The Second is Mario Andretti's 1969 Indy 500 Winning Car.

I believe that their both Hot Wheels, but I'm not 100% sure about the Jones car.

Thank you both for your interest in this. I'd be glad to have you guys participate! :)đź‘Ť
I have the Zamac chevelle still carded, it was the first Zamac I found.View attachment 515190
Mine's loose. Sweet, but I like the purple one Harry posted better(also have it Loose).
Parnelli Jones' 1963 Indy 500 Winning Car.
I think I have couple of those, but in Mobil livery & something else. Sweet casting. đź‘Ť

Actually, can you count me in as well? I've never offered my opnions for something quite what you're doing, and although deciding on things such as a 10-car list isn't my personal specialty, I'm sure I can cook something up...

Could that Ford GT be the Gran Turismo set Ford GT that Mattel announced? I can only wonder... Too bad there is no picture of its rear end, I am curious to see how did HW recreate that aspect of the car.

@a6m5, Gotcha. Wasn't fully sure of what you meant, but I suppose my guess wasn't too far off. Yeah I'll participate. May or may not take too long to decide on the top 10 seeing as how I've been making back money on these things this week.

@photonrider If you've been looking for MBX Teslas, your Dollarama may have them.

You can see it's not perforated where there are the two huge openings for air flow. That's a big deal breaker! (slams table)

"Huge openings"?

Oh crud, you are right! They're not sculptured properly! Well, that will make HW's GT casting lose some points... I already fear the same happening with the exhaust exits.

I've got a few Matchbox Tesla Model S. Does anyone need one?

"Huge openings"?

Yup.. The 458 has the same deal. Tis too bad. It's a manufacturing limitation.

In any case, TLV Neo says there is now a dark blue GT-R as well as one in gold. Thought you guys may want to know about that.... but if you're a big fan of R35s, I may as well redirect your attention to MakeUp and Ignition's recent releases of the LB Works resin cars. Buyers claim Ignition really raised the bar with their model.

Of course dude! Thank you, and I will be creating a dedicated convo thread shortly. đź‘Ť
It's been at least couple years since I've looked forward to new BMW casting. :embarrassed:

I am STOKED that you are joining, although I know you are kinda half-assing on 1/64 these days. Of course, looking at your 1/18's, who can blame you! :irked:  :embarrassed:

Half-assing. That's one way to put it. I still have hory grails I ain't givin' to nobody.

Well, that's probably a lie now that the McLarens are gone. A lot of my Speed Machines are going too.

But on the plus side, I did score a 1/18 McLaren for a super low price!

When I say half-assing, you know that I know the difference between Michael Jordan half-assing & some dude doing the same playing on hoop on a driveway. You & your collection still is to be feared respected, Andy!! :D
