A couple of things, I found the other week. Hover mode Delorean was a nice surprise, had totally forgotten about that one. :dunce:

There is that black Porsche I can't find.... I just remembered. There is one package I haven't opened, and I've had it for 2, 3 weeks? It has that Porsche in it, along with the ZAMAC Civic! Never mind, as you were... :P

I used to have the same Kenworth thing.... though it was really beat up. :D
Is your place just littered with parcels that you haven't opened yet? J/k
Sometimes, there can be more than one, yes. Don't worry, I stack them up until I get to them.
Ken
I was thinking the same thing. Must be a nice problem to have.
I also have large tote with carded cars I've yet to get to!

I just posted the Desert Island list by @Apok SO jealous of the last car on the list.

If you asked me now the list would already be different.

That Schuco bus I bought a couple of days ago would certainly take a spot.

As I was putting your post together, that's the one that came up in my mind. You've had some serious scores lately.
That California Customs Cobra was one of my favorite cars growing up... wish mine still looked like that... all the tampos rubbed off years ago
Nah. I bought a Lincoln Mark(Tomica vers. is called "Ford") Coupe from my childhood on eBay? It's in mint condition. It cost me $30, but I'd pay more for the one I actually owned as a kid. :D

Luckily, I do have Playart Lamborghini Miura my grandpa gave me when I must've been like three. It is priceless...... Oh my god, I'm putting together my "Desert Island" ten hot wheel car list & this one didn't even come up!? Thanks for your help! :P

I'm looking forward to that '16 Mustang Snake thingy. It having size1 wheels all around makes it most attractive.

You know what else is also attractive?

McLaren%2B650S%2BCoupe%2B%25282016%2BSet%2B1%2529.jpg

Kyosho McLaren 650S Coupe

Only unattractive part is how the tires seem thin and stretched out, giving it a sloppy appearance.

It's the only thing I needed in the entire McLaren set. I can leave the P1 be.

Super-cool list, @Apok. But indeed, it needs the Mercedes bus there. That thing is undescribable.
I'm not saying that I'm actively seeking them out, but there is a blue and a red version of the same bus and I wouldn't be opposed to getting them if the price is right. I love the thing.

Well, it was good to have something productive come out of a rather underwhelming and frustrating day, like the one I had today. Do not worry, I will not hamper the thread's quality with my whining and frustration, because there are better things to do than that. Namely showcasing the one productive and pleasing sight of the day, my day at least...

Oh, and as a bonus, I will let you in on a little something; this car will be a part of my Top 10 Desert Island Cars list, that much I can assure you. I know that my list is bound to impress very few in terms of uniqueness and quality (well hopefully @a6m5 will enjoy the musings of a rookie collector such as myself, and what makes said collector's list different from those who have far more experience and mollah in this business), but at least with this purchase in my grasp I can start writing said list properly. So, without further adieu, behold:

First of all, I do must thank sir RC_Kakashi_14 for clueing me in on this little lion of a car, because otherwise I would not have the faintest idea about its existance. The moment I saw pictures of it, it was fated to join my household of cars... It took quite the adventure to get this car; my father had a day off from work, and since I left university earlier than expected, I asked him to make a little voyage to a nearby Peugeot dealership. But as it turned out, said dealership had nothing but 1/43 models of 508s, and that's not what I was looking for.
But fortunately for us, another slightly-further-away dealership had two VGTs in stock, albeit none was the black/red combo I was looking for. Still, better having some than none, so we made our way there and I was able to snatch it away from the display cases before the dealership closed down. For once, my timing was good enough, thank God for that... I could nitpick about the lack of some details in the casting itself, but there is no other Peugeot VGT scale model on the market so far, much less a 1/64 one. So as it stands, this is the best Peugeot VGT scale model you can buy, for obvious reasons.

As a bonus treat, some silly jokes from a silly man:

Peugeot: You are quite big, no?
Alpine: That's because I have far more realistic expectations than you, little guy...

See this @Cano !? I'm not the rookie anymore! :dopey:

Seriously though, I'm seasoned now, but I'm still no expert collector. :D I'm sorry you had a bad day(we all get them!) but I'm glad you were able to score the Peugeot. Truely unique, and leave it to @RCKakashi14 to give us the heads up. One of the valued resources of intel on cool & the latest around here.

Sounds like this was your hunt, and you snatched the target. 👍

Funny you bring up Kakashi, because today, I was taking pics of casting I purchased based on his information while back:

Okay, I was taking pics of the other car, but you see why I was taking pictures of the little guy, too. :P

Well you got TLVs, and all the possible TLV Super Silhouettes in the world (which will eventually, and probably, include the Silvia). That automatically disqualifies you as a rookie collector, so don't go and lie to people about being one, you hear? :sly:

Either way, you have mounted a far bigger and far more interesting collection that I did, considering that you have American metal (M2 and Greenlight) and Japan's finest exports (TLV and Oversteer), while the best I can manage is having the Smokey & Bandit set from Greenlight Hollywood. It seems that the only thing where I might beat you at is European metal, with my Norevs and Majorettes, but those are all Peugeots so I dunno, haha.

My bad day was just being overwhelmed by university stuff, which then was coupled with one major headache that put me kaputt for the remainder of the day. Headaches are a huge pain, especially when they mess up your concentration to the point of being unhealthy... :ouch:

That aside, Kakashi knows his VGT scale model releases well, he just hasn't had the luck to buy then right away. But to his favor, it isn't easy to fetch Norevs (Peugeot and 1/43 Alpine) in Manilla, and Modeler's own cars (1/43 Mazda LM55, Mitsubishi XR, Infiniti and Nissan 2020) plus Tomica's (1/64 Nissan) aren't exactly cheap and/or readily available... And don't get me started on the super expensive stuff (I'm looking at you, Bugatti models :irked: ).

Sounds like this was your hunt, and you snatched the target. 👍

To be honest, I still consider my Siku Alfa Romeo 4C to be my true hunt; it took a while to appear, made me ask for a 1/18 model from someone else because I thought I wouldn't ever get it, and eventually showed up out of the blue after my hunt was almost over and done with... The Pug may have taken a few twists and turns to be found, but it didn't take half as long to be found as the Alfa. Still, I'm happy to have snatched the Pug for myself. :D:tup:
Now to go back to dreaming about fetching an Oversteer Mazda and/or any Tomica Limited Vintage model. Oh, and if anyone has the silver nuts to make it, a 1/64 Chaparral 2X model (don't look at me like that, I would love to see that in scale model format)...

I live to give. :P

Anyhow, none of the Peugeot dealers have their "La Botique" section, which meant that no general merchandise are in display. So no Norev models are within my reach as of this moment.

But I have nothing to worry about, since the mall within walking distance from my home has plethora of stores, and those are, in majority, the sources of my collection.

You weirdos buy stuff in stores?
A box at my doorstep a day keeps the bad vibes away.
Also you don't have to go to the store if you buy online. :dopey:

I found my two Minichamps64 models in the loft the other day - a 997 cabrio in dark green and a black SLR Roadster - and they just look so good.

Have they stopped making them? The detail was fantastic for the scale, I thought.

Well some of us ain't loaded with Euros and/or local currencies, sir Czech. Besides, it can be tricky trying to overcome the stigmas of online boxing it up, especially when no one else in your family knows how to maneuver that boat (haha, geddit?)...

Basically, since I still need to learn the ropes, I'd rather not risk my wallet thank you very much. I'll stick to roam about on eBay like a poor kid in a candy shop. Also, to clarify, I bought my Pug from an official Peugeot dealership, not a store, so zing'd ya. :P

And while I'm not sure that you can find a Norev Pug VGT in a store, I wish you the best of luck @RCKakashi14, you deserve to find one. Your kindness should not go unpayed... 👍

I kinda like the Focus.

No, not a rookie, but since I get into little bit of everything, I feel like I am a noob every time I start researching another brand, or another series of release.

I don't get into the European stuff much, which is what keeps this community interesting for me. I also don't get into vintage hot wheels, they have that in here, too. Always delightful to see what other collectors are up to. 👍
My bad day was just being overwhelmed by university stuff, which then was coupled with one major headache that put me kaputt for the remainder of the day. Headaches are a huge pain, especially when they mess up your concentration to the point of being unhealthy... :ouch:
If I get a bad headache, I use it as an excuse to take the day/night off. :P Of course, if you have pending work or schooling, that would make it tough... Hope you are doing good now! :D

For me, Kakashi, with Andy form our KIA. No, they weren't killed, or build Korean cars. Kyosho-Intelligence Agency. I wouldn't have as many Kyoshos if it weren't for those two. :D

Hugo, anytime you got a target casting/releases & you go on a search for it, it's a "hunt". And it was a success!
Oh. And a half-price Kyosho.

Told you guys about it. If you missed out, that's yourrrrrr fault.
That was that Japanese store, right? I saw it, just didn't see anything I want. Already got both of those cars, coincidentally, they were both on Jarrod's Desert Island list!
Cbf taking better pics. This is the 18 Matchbox I got the other day.
Sweet Golfs.

I do buy "collectibles" stuff that you will never encounter locally, so I have no choice, but to go online. Once in awhile, said collectible is something carried by Toys R Us, or Walmart(both American retailers), and I may get to them in time, but you know how that goes. :dopey:
